《Bad Intentions》Fifteen

Many punches and a whole lot of frustrated kicks later and I was on the verge of passing out. This was the most active I have been in a while and the lack of it was showing. Damn you, Netflix.

I wearily threw another punch into the bag as I felt my muscles start to ache. Every now and again Jace would come around to give me pointers on my stance and how to properly throw a punch. He kept saying that I may be great at throwing a punch, but I need to be able to predict my opponent's moves. He kept going on and on about it and the need to be vigilant.

I should have been annoyed at his constant talking, but I couldn't be. Every time I get the slightest bit annoyed, I would look up and meet his eyes which would be gleaming with happiness as he spoke and that alone made my annoyance disappear. I have never seen this side of Jace before, I may not know him well, but from around school, he seemed very closed off. He only showed what he wanted people to see and that was at most the bare minimum.

Jace was known to have a cold and hard exterior. He never spoke to anyone other than Ian, Luke and the girls he was trying to get with. His reputation matched the image he was trying to give off. There were many rumors floating around about him, some said he was arrested many times over, he dealt drugs, he was part of a gang and so much more.

Now, are any of those rumors true?

No one knows. Jace has never denied or accepted any of it. He has just let it build his reputation and now he is the most feared person in school. But that didn't stop girls from throwing themselves at him and did he enjoy that.

Bad boy, player, heartbreaker. And now,

Human.

My arms dropped to my side as I rest my forehead against the bag, exhausted. "Why did I let you convince me to do this?"

Jace chuckled. "Because one day you want to be able to kick my ass."

"Right. Watch out, Emerson." I warned causing him to let out a chuckle once more. "I need water."

Jace let go of the bag and pointed straight ahead. "There's a water cooler over there." I nodded and immediately took off over there.

I took off the boxing gloves as I made my way to the water cooler. Halfway through me throwing punches at the bag, Jace thought it would be better if tried with the gloves instead.

I grabbed a cup and filled it up with water and downed it in one gulp, happy for the cool liquid. I did that about four more times.

The gym was starting to feel heated as more people entered. I tied my hair up in a ponytail as I made my way back to where Jace was.

I stopped in my tracks as I looked at the sight in front of me.

Jace had his eyes trained only on the punching bag in front of his, they were cold and hard, voided of any emotions. His jaw clenched so tightly, any tighter he would break teeth. His hands were wrapped in the white wrap as he threw punches onto the bag. His muscles flexed with every punch. Sweat started to roll off his forehead.

Left. Right. Left. Right.

He continue to follow that rhythm. Every now and again he would throw a double left or right and a kick. He was good. Like really good.

My mind flashed back to the moment we shared not too long ago. His eyes, the emotions that they held, anger, hatred, even sadness. What happened to get Jace to this point? Where the rumors true? Was there more to it?

I was curious to say the least. I wanted to know what got him to this point, just like everyone else.

"I know I'm good looking, but your stare is starting to make me feel uncomfortable." A voice said snapping me out of my thoughts. I look over and I see Jace smirking.

I rolled my eyes. And here I thought he may just be human.

At some point during me going to get water and him throwing punches, his shirt magically disappeared off his body. Sweat glistened his tan muscular chest as his heavy breaths start to even out.

"Put a shirt on." I grabbed his t-shirt and toss it to him.

"Does it make you uncomfortable?" He asked catching the shirt. A crooked grin on his face.

No.

"Yes, now put on your damn shirt."

"Do you know how many girls would kill to be in your spot right now?" He asked taking a towel that he some how obtained off the bench and using it.

"They can have it." I told him plainly.

Jace took long strides toward where I was standing stopping a few inches away. His bare chest close to my own. His hand made its way to my chin tilting my head up to meet his dark hazel eyes.

"Trust me when I say this. One day you'll be the one yearning for that spot." A cocky smirk grace his lips.

Before I could give Jace a piece of my mind, I felt a gust of wind and the next thing I know Jace is sprawled out on the floor.

Jace groaned. "What the hell, man?!"

I looked up to see Luke standing there with a scowl on his face as he look at the at the other two. "I was suppose to do that." He argued.

I looked up to see Ian standing next to Jace hovering over him and devious smirk on his lips. "You snooze you loose."

Jace rolled off the ground and stood up once more. "What fuck was that for?" He asked throwing daggers at Ian.

"I was saving a damsel in distress." He answered winking in my direction.

I shook my head. "My hero." I said flatly.

Jace finally slipped on his shirt and slapped Ian over the head. "Jackass." Ian glared at him rubbing the spot Jace hit. "What are you guys doing here?"

"We want to hang out with Leah." Luke answered looking at me with his bright green eyes.

My eyebrows shot up. They want to hang out with me? Since when? And why?

"How did you know I was here?" Jace questioned.

"We have our ways." Ian spoke.

"You followed us, didn't you?"

The two looked at each other and nodded.

"We saw you guys leave school, so we thought why not tag along for the fun?" Luke said shrugging his shoulder. "And since Leah ditched us the other day, we come to take her as our own." A grin lit his face.

"What?" I questioned. "What is that suppose to mean?"

Without another word I was lifted up and toss over Ian's strong shoulder and he bolted out of there.

"Hey! Hey!" I shouted as he sprinted out the building. "Put me down!" Ian just ignored me and continue his escape.

"Wait for me!" I heard Luke yell as he tried to catch up.

"You idiots!" I heard Jace shout after us.

"Ian!" I yelled smacking his back. "Put me down!"

"No can do, I started this escape plan and I have to finish it." He answered entering the parking lot. He paused for a second and then sprinted to the left of the parking lot.

"Luke!" He shouted. I glanced up to see Luke a few feet behind. "Unlock the car!"

I heard two beeps signaling the unlocking and next thing I know I'm laying down in the back seat of a car.

Ian slammed the door shut and hopped into the driver's seat just as Luke entered the car.

"Lock the car!" Luke shouted.

"I'm trying!" Ian shouted back messing with the buttons on the door.

I heard a click meaning the door was lock just as a loud bang on the window sounded causing the three off us to jump in terror.

I look over to the window to see a furious looking Jace standing there. He looked like he was about the rip the car door off.

"Guys, I know you don't want to face what's out there as much as I do. So why don't we step on it!" I shouted at them.

Without a second thought, Ian started the car and changed gear whipping out of the parking space.

We sped down the parking lot, leaving an angry Jace behind.
