"I think I'm in labour," Harley whispered into Valentino's ear. He momentarily froze up, worry running up and down his mind.

Isn't it too soon? Will they be healthy?

Are we ready? Am I ready?

All these questions ran through his mind.

He wanted so badly to run away but at the same time, he wanted so badly to be a good father, to be there for Harley.

He then thought of all the great things to approach after this moment right here.

He thought of being able to hold them, seeing their first smiles, hearing their first laughs. Watching them walk, run, play whatever sport their desire. How they'd probably look like their gorgeous mother. How lucky they'd be to like their beautiful mother.

And without wasting any more time, Valentino hoisted Harley up into his arms and took her to the awaiting ambulance.

"She's okay, but she's in labour," he told the paramedics. The paramedics wasted no time in taking her from his arms and strapping her in the bird-like seat.

"Tino," Harley reached her hand out, wanting his comfort because deep down she was petrified. She needed him to assure her that everything would be perfect, that there was nothing worry about.

"I'm here, baby. You're okay, their okay," he said. It was exactly what Harley wanted to hear but she was still panicking because of all the labour books and movies she'd seen.

What if there's something wrong with them?

She inwardly panicked.

The paramedics made sure Harley was comfortable and kept count of the minutes the contractions were apart.

The contractions were still fairly apart but whenever hit Harley couldn't but groan. Tino tried his best to comfort her but Harley was in too much to acknowledge him.

When does this end? Was all she could think of.

The drive to the nearest hospital was a little long but they eventually arrived at a hospital in the Tivoli.

When the paramedics took Harley out of the van, a doctor rush to her and they wheeled her into the hospital. "Hi, Harley, my name's Dr Blomme and I'm going to be delivering your babies," the doctor quickly told her and Harley nodded to show that she understands what the doctor was saying.

"I'm going to do an ultrasound to see if everything is okay," the doctor lifted Harley's shirt and spread the cold gel across her stomach.

Dr Blomme fell silent as she looked for any problems. With a small frown, Dr Blomme turned back to Harley and Tino.

"It appears we're going to have to perform a c-section to take these babies out," Harley frowned.

"Is there something wrong with me?" Harley questioned and the doctor shakes her head immediately. "The thing is that they are too small for a natural birth. They'll need to be incubated immediately and in an OR we are prepared to tackle any complications they'll possibly have. Also, one of the babies is bridged. If you give birth naturally, it might be fatal to for him," the doctor explained.

Harley couldn't help but tear up because she felt like she wasn't a good enough host for them to have so many complications.

It hurt her that she wouldn't be able to hold my babies immediately because they weren't healthy enough.

"Harley, don't cry. This isn't your fault. This happens more often than you think it does," the doctor tried to consul her. "Before we prepare for your surgery I have to tell you everything that'll happen during and after surgery. I must properly notify of the risks of the surgery," Harley nodded and the doctor explained all the complications that could occur.

The doctor explained how she would start the procedure and that she would be numbed from the neck down. She explained that Harley would be awake the whole time and Valentino would be in the delivery room if she permeated. Her babies would be placed on her chest if they don't have any serious health issues. Dr Blomme went through everything with Harley.

"Now we can prep you for delivery," the doctor smiled and left.

"I'm scared," Harley told Tino. He kissed the back of her hand and looked her in the eyes. "I think it's normal to be scared," he said and she frowned slightly. "But just remember what I kept telling you whenever you were in doubt about this pregnancy."

Harley smiled and quoted Tino, "In the end, it'll all be worth it." Tino smiled and kissed her softly. "I love you so much," he said against her lips.

A nurse walked in and handed Harley a hospital gown for her to change into and handed Valentino scrubs for him to able to be in the room. When she was all changed she had Harley sit up while she injected a needle into Harley's spin.

Harley squeezed Tino's hand until she lost the feeling of it. "Okay Harley, we're going to take you to the operation room now," the nurse smiled at her and wheeled her to the operation room.

The room was cold and they put a curtain on her chest to cover her from seeing the procedure.

"Tell me everything that goes on down there," she demanded and nodded. "I will," he caressed her cheek.

The doctor told Harley she was going to start the procedure.

The operation went smoothly as they took out the first child. The baby was awfully quiet which initially alarmed the new parents. The doctor handed the baby to nurses to take to the paediatrician on standby.

"Calm down, Dr Trinity will see what's wrong," Dr Blomme assured Harley and Valentino.

The second baby was taken out and like the first baby, he made no sound. "Please go see if the babies are alright," Harley told Tino and he reluctantly left her.

"Are they okay?" He asked the doctor and nodded after incubating the first one. "They'll be fine," he said as he worked on the second baby.

An alarming sound came from the machines as the doctor started working fast. "What's going on?" A distressed Valentino asked but he got no answer.

He looked at Harley and noticed that she was slowly losing consciousness. "Doctor, what's going on?" Valentino raised his voice a bit.

"Please get him out of here," the doctor announced and a nurse stared leading Tino out of the room.

"What's going on? Is Harley okay?" Valentino panicked.

"We'll update you when we can," the nurse said before returning to the operation room.

And at that moment Valentino was engulfed but the silence of his scared tears...

I'm soooooo sorry for the long wait. This was supposed to be out a while ago but every time I tried to put my ideas down in words, they'd evaporate or come out wrong.

But I just wanted to tell you guys that this is the last chapter before the epilogue and then I'll just occasionally drop a few bonus chapters💖
