《Not Friends》Suspicious.

Marilyn was giving me the creeps. I no longer despised her because I feared her more and I didn't know why.
Could it be a coincidence that we have the same estimated due dates and that–out of the blue–we were having same amount of kids of the same gender?
Too much of a coincidence, right?
I call Marilyn's play bullshit. What is she planning? Why is she doing this? Why lie? Because eventually she's going to have to give birth and at that the truth will have to come out.
I was so consumed by Marilyn that I could hold conversation with my old friends some of which I met on my business rise and some while growing up.
It was only when Vincent came over that my concentration came back to the shower. "Interesting," he said. "What's interesting?" I absentmindedly smiled slightly.
"You lose your virginity to me but you have a baby–babies–with my brother," Vincent's tone was very much amused. It didn't have any type of bitter or whatsoever.
"Hey, you could've had all of this," I gestured at myself, "if you weren't into men," I smugly smirked. Vincent chuckled with a shrug.
"So where have you been anyways? You missed the part where your mother and I had a face-off," I joked and he chuckled with a bit of sadness.
"I've been in Italy for the past few years. Ever since father died, I told over his company over there. We have offices in America but I prefer being in Italy more," he admitted and I furrowed my eyebrows bit.
"Is there something in America that make you want to be there more than here?" I couldn't help but ask. Vincent and I were really good high school friends. We lost our virginity to one another and I was one of the first few people he told about his sexuality.

He looked around the room before he turned back to me. "My mother," he lowered his voice. "Since my father's death, she's been different. And when I came out of the closet she just resented me." My heart broke for him.
I knew Mrs Princely was harsh but I didn't pen her to be cruel.
"She's different, Harley," his accent dropped of heavy Italian as his voice cracked slightly. "She's not the same woman she once was. More controlling, conniving and–dare I say–evil." I turned to look up into Vincent's hazel eyes.
Vincent looked more like his mother unlike Tino who had just a few similarities to her. His skin was darker shade of olive than Tino and his hair was black as night.
"Vincent, is there a chance that your mother is working with Marilyn on some type of sinister behaviour?" I curious and I needed to know.
First Marilyn is pregnant while I'm pregnant. Then we think it's one baby but now it's two. And not only is it two but they're both boys. Interesting.
"To be honest?" He bit his lower lip for a moment. "I wouldn't be shocked if she was the one that forced Marilyn's hand."
I was quite shocked. I'd always thought that it was maybe Marilyn that would force Mrs Princely's hand but at the same time, I'm not too surprised.
"What has she done?" I finally asked the question that's been biting at me. You can't just label someone as evil unless they've evil before.
Vincent opened his mouth to tell me but instead smiled brightly. "I'm so happy for you, Harley. Congratulations," his voice was louder and chirpy. I immediately knew that Mrs Princely was making her way towards us.
"Time to open the gifts, Harley," she came to my side and wrapped her arms around my arm and gave them a small squeeze.

Without warning she led me across the hall to the living that was full of gifts and had two large blue thrones. In one of the thrones, Marilyn sat there with a megawatt smile on her face and a blue tiara on her head. A sachet draped from her should to her hip with the words 'Mother of two'.
I couldn't help but discreetly stare at her stomach. It was so much smaller than mine, you'd she'd just finished with her first trimester.
But I couldn't judge, despite knowing that she was somewhat lying about her pregnancy details. What if she was having twin? I couldn't judge the size of her small stomach because there are woman out there who don't grow to become large. Maybe she's one of them, if she's being honest.
I sat in my throne and Mrs Princely draped a sachet over me and placed a blue tiara over my head like Marilyn's.
When the gift opening started, all the guys left for the basement as apparently the rest of the shower was 'ladies only'. I didn't feel comfortable not having Tino around while I was with both Marilyn and Mrs Princely in one room.
But I pulled my big girl panties on and slapped on a fake smile because I was anything but happy. Frantic? Yes. Nervous? Sure. Sceptical? More than ever. Curious? Most definitely.
What was their agenda? I wanted to know. Needed to know. Was I in danger? Were my kids in danger? Or am I just being crazy and paranoid?
Marilyn and Mrs Princely canteen possibly be physically dangerous, can they?
But after what Vincent told me, can I really just dismiss that possibility?
"What are you thinking about?" I drew myself back to the present. "Oh nothing. Just how amazing you two are," I sweetly replied. I wasn't going to let them know that I had my suspicions about them.
Marilyn just smiled at me and for the next few hours we ripped open gifts from my friends and a couple of Marilyn and Mrs Princely's friends. I hadn't even noticed the unfamiliar women until now.
People made jokes and commented on the gifts and I eventually started to genuinely have fun.
Could I actually about they're motives? What if they're just trying to be nice? Should I really forever punish them for treating me bad even when they went through all that trouble to do this for me?
I'm so conflicted and torn between whether I should trust what Vincent told me or not.
Who can I trust?
