《Not Friends》Too friendly.

My heart froze for at second from the shock. I really wasn't expecting anyone to be in the house, let alone more than a dozen people yelling 'surprise'.

I turned to look at Tino for an explanation but he just smiled at me.

"What is going on?" I asked the crowd before me. Looking at the one by one, it hit me that these were all Tino and I's family and friends.

Lauren and Micah were here, Vincent–Tino's twin brother–was here. Even a couple of friends from college were here. I was smiling so hard my cheeks felt like they could break off.

"We threw you a baby shower, Harls," Lauren announced as she approached me. I hadn't seen Lauren in months. Since my first trimester of the pregnancy because I knew she was grieving and I knew that she needed to be alone until she didn't. Plus, I was also dealing with my own shit back here.

"Aww, you're the best, Lauren," I pulled her into a warm hug. "I can't you didn't tell me about this," she whispered into my ear.

"The timing from when I found out and when I could was horrible. But if circumstances were better, you would've been the second person I'd have told," she squeezed me a little to show how much she loved me before we broke from the embrace.

"You guys are the best thank you all so much," I announced to the crowd. "Let's eat, socialize with the mother-to-be and open gifts," Tino told the crowd and we went to dining area which was on my right.

The dining room was smaller than the room on the left–which I assume was the living room.

In the dining room there were tables piled with food and waiting in there with a cynical megawatt smile was...Margaret. And Mrs Princely.

I felt like my elation just deflated the moment I saw them.

There goes my happiness for today.

"Why, oh why, do you have to ruin happy moments for me?" I scowled. The crowd silenced at my discontented frown.

"They helped throw the baby shower, Harls," Tino whispered in my ear from beside me. My frown only deepened at the revelation.

"Enjoy some food everyone. There's more in the kitchen. We'll just have to pull Harley to the side for a moment," Tino told the people and the silence broke.

Tino pulled me, Marilyn and his mother to the large double-doors on the other side of the room and closed the behind him once we were all inside.

"Tell her," Tino ordered Marilyn and his mother. They didn't say anything for a moment.

"We felt bad about the way we treated you," Tino's mother began. "It wasn't fair because although sleeping with an engaged man is wrong, you are pregnant and we shouldn't be adding to any stress." I was stunned but at the same time curious.

What are they up to?

I don't honestly believe that now–after so long–they'd just come to their senses. Especially Marilyn, who hasn't a word by the way.

"What's your part in this, Marilyn?" I slightly narrowed my eyes at her. I was watching her every move. People like Marilyn couldn't be trusted no matter how much you needed someone. Sweet public but nasty true colours.

"I was the one that suggested the baby shower because, Harley, we're are family now," she took my hand in hers as a sweet gesture.

I wasn't buying her kiss-ass bullshit but at the same time, was she really that bad?

I hated that I was now suddenly doubted my instincts and gutt feelings because they told me not to trust this bitch. But my heart was telling me to give her a chance to redeem herself.

"Plus, I think our babies might come around the same time," she announced with excitement.

I kept asking myself what she was up to. What is she planning? But what could she possibly do to me? She's pregnant, I'm pregnant. There's nothing she can physically do to me excite try to break Tino and I apart, which won't happen because we're solid.

"Not quite sure on that because woman pregnant with twins don't usually carry full term like woman with just one baby," I corrected her. Hasn't she done any maternal reading?

Maybe if she had she'd catch a thing or two on that fact. Unless my baby's came–I still wouldn't carry for a full forty weeks.

"Oh, I knew that. I wanted to announce this today because this is basically a joint baby shower, but since it's almost out now let me just say it," I raised a curious eyebrow at her. "I'm also having twins," my eyebrows shot through the roof. "And they're both boys," she excitedly finished with a squeal.

Now I was certain that something wasn't right. Something was so wrong and the problem was, I couldn't see what the exact problem was but there was a problem.

"Interesting," was all I could say.

What was I supposed to say? I highly doubted that her announcement was even true. She was probably lying to try and get Tino's attention and by the look of it, he was also very shocked.

"When are you due?" I managed to ask.

"Around January 28th and February 5th," she sweetly announced. This was wrong on so many levels. There must've been some kind of mistake.

Because those were my possible due dates.
