Y/n = Your Name
L/n = Last Name
Cold dewey air dispersed the morning in Haddonfield. Mourning doves began to coo a sleeping Y/n awake. Her body curled up against a pillow and covered securely with a blanket. Y/n sharply exhaled as she shook awake from the sound of a car brushing past the trees.
Atleast the annoying alarm clock didn't wake her.
Last night was a blur- well, somewhat. She remembered the party and hitting Brandon in the face with a barstool. But everything after that was blurry. She wiped the dust out of the corners of her eyes and squinted her eyes to adjust to the brightness of the room. Y/ns eyes were still irritated, so she rubbed them again and looked at her hand. Black was smeared across the index finger
'Shit, forgot to wipe off my makeup' flinging the blanket off of her, Y/n trudged across the room to the hall. Conveniently across from her room was the bathroom. So she didn't have to dread walking down the steps.
Not wasting time looking in the mirror, Y/n washed all the makeup residue off her face. The heavy and gross sensation on her face was gone.
She dried off her face and went off downstairs. Unbeknownst to what surprises were held for her. Entering the kitchen "Mmm, should probably text Amanda" her hand slid across the counter in search of her phone. Her hand took a second stroke across. Nothing. Figuring she left it in another room, Y/n sat down at the kitchen table, flipping open her laptop. No notifications from skype.
"Must not be awake, huh?" Y/ns eyes caught something infront of her. A giant wardrobe blocking the back door. "Did...I do that?"
Suddenly, she was hit with a wave of memory of what happened last night. Her walking home after hitting Brandon, the back doors broken window, the large figure in the white mask. She dropped her phone near the tree after running away.
"That's the last time I ever go to a fuckin party" Y/n slid her coat on and went out the door in search for her phone. After about 20 minutes Y/n went across the street, almost certain that she dropped it behind that tree infront of the run down home. Craining her neck down, she scanned the sidewalk until she saw something with a black metallic finish. Immediately she confirmed it was her phone

Y/n knelt down to pick it up, but noticed something on the trunk of the tree. When looking closer, it was a carving of two initials. One of them was coincidentally her first initial while the other was an M. There was a '+' in the middle of the initials. Y/n was deep in thought now. While she did live there for a while before highschool, she didnt remember having a friend. Or so she thought
As she touched the bark, a glimpse of a blonde haired boy flickered in her mind. "His name... what's his name..." she mumbled.
"Did you ever hear about the Mexican wolf man?" Y/ns hand flinched away from the tree when she heard the chatter of a child.
"Yeah well I saw him on TV" she picked up her phone before she could forget and returned to her normal height. A block or so away, her eyes studied the two people approaching.
One of them was a small boy swinging around his backpack, while the other seemed a bit more familiar. Glasses, blonde hair, pale skin. Shit- it's the girl she saw from the record shop. It would've been awkward if she stood there any longer, so she booked it across the street.
Y/n thought about going inside, but her conscious told her otherwise. So- she pretended to be busy outside while eavesdropping. "Hm yes this tree is made of tree..." her voice trailed off as the two stopped infront of the run down house.
"Alright, I gotta make a stop" "Whoa! What are you, insane?" The girl visibly deadpanned at the boys antics "Oh my gosh, Tommy. I'm not even listening to you"
"You'd better listen to me- He's right there. Are you crazy? You can't go in there"
This kid was even annoying her.
"That's the devil's house. The Boogeyman lives in there"
"Oh no, Tommy!" The blonde taunted him. "Oh, you're scaring me! The Boogeyman will get me or Danny the Wolfman"
At this point, Y/n didn't feel like eavesdropping anymore. She headed back inside her house. Y/n exhaled in relief, not even knowing she was holding her breath. But something else bothered her. Why was the house across the street abandoned in the first place? The answer? Straight to the laptop it is.

Did Amanda text her? Who knows- But nothing was stopping Y/n from investigating. Her laptop was already open so, without giving a glimpse to Skype, opened google and began her research.
'Haddonfield, Illinois'
'Haddonfield abandoned attraction'
'Haddonfield haunted house'
'Is the housing market falling in Illinois?'
Although the options gave her answers, they weren't the ones she wanted. None showed the picture of the house across the street from her, others didn't even have anything to do with what she searched.
Y/n rubbed her eyes in frustration.
'Something happened there, I know it did. Fuck...'
...."The Boogeyman lives there"....
Words of the little boy echoed in the back of Y/ns mind. Her fingers followed in suit of the echo
Aaanndd Search
"The Haddonfield Massacre, the devil child, gosh this list goes on forever" she figured she'd start from the beginning of the page with the first link to a news article.
Tacky font letters began to load in as an image took up half the screen. Dark circles met hers. The grainy black and white picture showed a boy glaring through his eyebrows at whoever was behind taking that picture.
What was meant to be a fun holiday filled with tricks and treats- Y/n rolled her eyes at the cheesy wording. Turned into something morbid Halloween Night in Haddonfield. A 10 year old boy known as Michael Myers Murdered his 16 year old sister Judith, Steve Haley, and his supposed Stepfather Ronnie. The Scene too gruesome to describe. There at the crime scene was a young girl, a rumored survivor of the attack whom we asked for an interview, but all requests have been declined.
'Shit, that's awful. Wait a Minute...M.. the initials on the tree'
Her hand, or finger, scrolled down the page until a picture popped up. Y/ns suspicions were confirmed. It was the house across the street but in better condition. She knew Michael Myers, that was fact. But she didn't remember any of this.
Y/n wanted to look further into this subject, but obviously wouldn't get anywhere with an article from 1990
All the links Y/n looked at just told repeats of what the article said. Some better than the others. She was just about to give up until she noticed one more link she hadn't clicked on yet. It was to a message board on a forum related to true crime. Titled 'Haddonfield Massacre: Aftermath'
Click
She started reading
Haven't seen A lot of light shined on what happened after the news got out that Michael was actually the one who murdered bascically his entire family.
Michael was submitted to mental hospital and was bascically this looney psychologists book topic. His name is Samuel Loomis. If you thought I was joking about the book thing it's published. He's some hot shot in the psychology world and does seminars. Back to the topic. After some digging I found that Michael had murdered a nurse at that hospital so his mom couldn't visit him anymore.
His mom committed suicide after, shot herself in the head. The only remaining family member was a baby girl named Angel. Don't know where she is now though.
Y/ns eyes were basically popping out of their sockets at this point. She felt a mix of Nausea and fear swirl in her body. Memories came flooding in, head to toe. The first time she met him, going to school with him, the night of the murders, the hospital visits
"Michael Myers was my... friend??"
