A/N: Warning! use of profanity!
You were in full-on tears now. Days and Days had gone by, maybe even a week and not even a peep around the compound that could even be translated as Hoolan's here! What if he was so hurt that he was just laying on the sand again? Not able to even move after what that gas did to him.
Or what if he did come and all the people hurt him so badly. You could not stand all of these thoughts in your head about Hoolan being so hurt for a second time so soon.
It got to the point that all you would do is just pace the big room the four of you shared. When you weren't pacing you were rocking yourself back and forth on your bed.
The other three were really good people in this regard. Having absolutely one hundred percent patients with you. Helping you calm down in any way they could too.
Aesha was an angel. She would hold you tight when you cried...which was all the time. Just the way she acted around you, it was almost maternal. Whatever she was doing it definitely would help.
Over the days, every single day the armed men would come and take you back to that Doctor lady. She was always fussing about your eyes which did make you wonder.
Saltwater did not sting them anymore. Plus when that gas was burning Hoolan it did absolutely nothing to you. Except for making your eyes burn and water a little bit.
You wondered if that was a side effect from some of the venom Hoolan had put in you during the time you were with him. He has not injected you with any ever since he took you out of the Abyssal cave.
The only three times you remember getting venom injected in you was when he first took you from the base, when you tried to escape, and when he used it to knock you back out right afterward.
It did not matter though, because You were taken to the doctor a lot only to have her fuss over your eyes for hours. each session leaving your eyes burning more than the last session.
You would always be greeted with the comforting faces of your new friends soon afterward though, and that helped you ignore the burning in your eyes. Even if they weren't so understanding of Hoolan, they were still really kind to you. You appreciated that, and you hoped that they knew that.
Aesha and Ko would sit down with you and help teach you some words in Swahili. Which was Adimu's native language. They taught you some of the basic words. That way if she or you really needed something then you would be able to understand her.
You did not know how the other two knew the language, but you weren't complaining. It also helped you take a lot off of your mind. Yes, you were still absolutely worried sick for Hoolan all times at least somewhere in your mind. But it really helped to focus on something else.
Otherwise, you would be back to pacing around your bed again or rocking yourself. The other three knowing the drill by now did all they could to keep your mind occupied.
The only thing none of you talked about was your Abyss keepers. It was kind of an unspoken rule among the four of you. Even though you really would have liked to talk about Hoolan you resisted the urge. Plus you did not want to bring back up bad memories for them from their Abyss keepers.

Even if you liked yours it did not mean that they liked theirs. Especially Adimu. As butcher literally... Butchered her entire village and spared her for reasons unknown to herself.
At the moment you smiled lazily while Aesha sat behind you. Brushing out your hair with a jeweled comb. Adimu sat in front of you, stroking at pointing at spots on your hand while she talked about something that you could not understand in the slightest.
Ko sat on his bed to the side of your little lady's group. Writing in what to be some type of Diary or Journal. It was Brown with darker brown and gold linings. The pages looked old and almost medieval-like. He wrote fast too like he had to quickly get it down on paper before something grabbed him and took him away.
You kind of space in and out for a little bit. Only paying attention to the teeth of the comb that untangled your mess of a hair. The soft but wrinkly hands that held on to your own, and the frantic writing on the pen on paper. After a minute of this, a thought crossed your mind and was out of your mouth before you could even really think about it.
" Why are we even here?" You asked to the three of them. Everything stopped at your question. The brushing, the hands, and the scratching. There was a bit of silence only broken by Ko translating what you had said to Adimu.
You could not quite tell what kind of silence it was. Was is a bad silence? Or a neutral silence? Did you say something wrong or were they just trying to think of what would be the best answer? It was Aesha who responded to your question first.
" What do you mean by that Y/N?" She asked in her heavy Hindi accent. You turned your head to look at her. She still had one hand in your hair while the other one was still raised mid-stroke. Her brown eyes were creased ever so slightly, confused by your question.
" I mean if they are trying to keep us safe from the monsters in the ocean. Why do it in a base in the ocean? would it not be better to take us to land?" You asked your small group, Not paying attention to the Background voice of Ko who translated everything you said.
Again they were silent for another moment. Though only Aesha and Ko could really answer your questions anyway. Though you felt like this silence was more of one where they were trying to think of what they should say to word it best. It was Ko this time that answered your question.
" The Abyssal monsters would follow us there. They fear not the monsters that reside on the land. Here though, in the territory of a beast they know well and is difficult for them to fight, it is easier to protect us here." He explained. You took in his words with careful thought and kept nodding as he spoke.
" Do you know what the creature is?" You asked your second question. To which Ko shook his head, but then nodded towards the woman behind you.
" I know a little," said Aesha's voice from behind you. You turned slightly so you could get a better angle of Ko and Aesha. You squeezed Adimu's hands in reassurance as you did and received a light squeeze back.
You turned your head so you were looking right at the Indian woman. Looking deeply into her brown eyes with you E/C ones.

" I saw it once when I was taken to one of the Subsurface levels just a little under two weeks ago! They have big glass windows in some of the rooms and halls. I was being walked down one of the halls when it swam past. It was Ginormous! It startled me so much at first that I almost missed it. I almost lost my head when I saw that it was another Abyss keeper!" You gasped a little at her words, but she kept going. " It's tentacled were swaying in the water like jellyfish tentacles, and it was drifting rather lazily passed. Even though it looked right into my eyes with its own dark blue ones!
This time you jumped back and let out a sharp intake of breath. Your heart felt like it was trying to pound out of your ribcage and it got very hot and very hard to breathe.
The world around you got small and loopy and you almost tipped over save for Ko jumping off of his bed and catching you before your head hit the ground and split open like a melon.
All three of them were talking at once and it hurt your head a little because in their panicked state they were all talking in their native languages. After a minute of catching your breath, Ko helped you sit up and you looked right back at Aesha with wide panicked eyes.
" Blue eyes?! Your sure it had dark blue eyes?!" You strangled out. Aesha, startled by your reaction to this news looked almost as frightened as you were but nodded her head up and down hurryingly.
" You said a little under two weeks ago? Did you see it's side? Like it had possibly received a wound to one of its ribs?" You asked while your voice got higher pitched and quieter with each word as you ran out of breath.
Her eyes changed from a look of startled shock to a look of surprise and confusion. She furrowed her brow at you before slowly nodding her head up and down.
" Yes... in fact... that is exactly what I saw." She said slowly. Your breathing stopped for a second at her words. Then slowly started to pick up and get faster and heavier after each breath.
This was no coincidence. Blue eyes had been after you from the beginning, trying to take you away from Hoolan. You just did not know it was to take you here. In fact... Now that you thought about it Blue Eyes took you to the same part of the beach where the soldiers did.
They flew off in the same direction Blue Eyes was dragging you in. Blue Eyes was never trying to take you for their own or to kill you as you thought so. They were trying to bring you here to take you from Hoolan.
That's how the soldiers knew where to find you. Blue Eyes must have led them to you when they knew that they could not beat Hoolan.
Adimu was frantically speaking in her native language while turning your face, rubbing your cheeks with the palms of her hands while she tried to get you out of your days. All three of them attempted to get you back to earth but it was all just a loud ringing in your ears.
All the shouting must have Alerted the soldiers to something being wrong as the door squeaked open and three came in. One taking only a glance at the situation before going right back out the door and down the hallway.
A minute later they returned with the doctor lady, who came in with a syringe filled with a bright yellow liquid. At the sight of the needle bright flashes from the past flashed behind your eyes.
The black liquid dripping from claw-like nails as he punctured your neck while Jack and Maria ran down the hallway to try and escape with their lives.
The Legs sprouting up behind you as you tried to climb out of the hole onto the sandy beach. Large fangs piercing the flesh of your thigh.
The large spider that opened its mouth and exposed all of its shark-like teeth. Flipping you over onto your stomach and biting the back of your neck. Making your world go black.
Your leg mostly black with bright angry red skin pulsing with Venom that slowly killed you. The large claw that clamped into the dying flesh and separated the whole infected limb from your body.
The flashbacks brought up a fight or flight instinct and you shot to your feet. Backing away from the approaching Doctor with wide wild eyes.
" You stay the fuck away from me you whore!" You screeched at the Doctor and armed men approaching you. The men lunged at you and secured you in place for the doctor who was getting a good angle at your neck.
You thrashed and cried for them to let you go, for the others to help you from this. It was all ignored though and you cringed at the needle was jabbed into the vein in your neck.
You don't know if this is what they wanted to happen, or if the Doctor mixed up her injections, or if it was a result of the leftover venom in your body. But as soon as the needle was out of you this rage filled your body and you flung both of the armed men away from you and into the walls with a loud thud.
The Doctor shouted something but your flight instincts kicked in as you shoved passed her and ran out of the door and into the Hallway.
You did not know where you were going, you could only keep running even if it got you nowhere. You opened a door that had a set of stairs leading down.
You did not want to go down, but your body would not stop, so you practically jumped down the stairs. going down deeper and deeper into levels far below the surface, until there were no more stairs to go down.
You heard the sound of heavy boots thundering down the steps above you. So you crashed into the door and bolted out through it and into a big glass hallway. The water outside was a dark medium shade of blue with just a slight tinge of green to it.
You ran down the right passageway, Ignoring the sounds of the men following you. Ahead of you, the hallway changed to where you could only go right or left but no longer straight.
You reached the T path and went to turn in whatever direction your body went first when a large shadow suddenly enveloped your form. You looked up with wide frighted eyes at the glass in from of you. Only to see two gigantic blue pupilless eyes narrow at you. fear, unlike anything you ever felt before engulfed your entire being.
" HOOLAN!!!!" You cried out with all your might. Praying that somewhere behind that glass he heard you and was coming for you right now.
