《Graphic (Dylan O'Brien)》Chapter 40

Milanas POV
We arrived at a house. It was alone in its surrounded and looked old. Like it was build in Victorian times, like a farm house. It looked negated and run down.
I was Dylan. His face dropped and his breathing sped up.
I grabbed hold of his hand and squeezed it tightly
"I'll be here for you, don't forget" I whispered and gave him a slight smile. He looked at me then back to the house.
He then dropped his head and let out soft sobs
I rubbed his back slightly
"You don't have to do this" I whispered. Dylan sniffed
"I have to" he said and lifted his head back up. He wiped his eyes and looked at the house. He took a deep breath and placed his hand on the door of the car and pushed it open
I disconnected my hand from his and started to climb out as well.
I walked around to the passenger side where Dylan was still getting out. He was shaking. I knew this place would impact him hard and even bring out his darker side, but I'd try to be there the best I could for him.
I stood next to him and searched around for his hand before grabbing hold of it.
He took a deep breath in then out.
We then took the first step forward. Dylan was squeezing my hand violently and was shaking around.
We then continued to walk further.
Dylan was walking slow but I could tell he was pushing himself toward.
We made it outside his front door and he paused again
"I'm not afraid" I herd him whisper as he began to push the door in slightly
The door opened and instantly Dylan stepped backwards.
I went with him. The door opened up completely and Dylan started to shake around abit, he was moving his head around and breathing deeply. He was trying his hardest to cope.

He then started to walk us forward
We walked inside and I noticed Dylan had shut his eyes. He's breathing vicious. He house did look run down and neglected. Smash glass and photo frames, broken furniture, some brown splatters which I knew too well were from Dylan.
I turned to Dylan and rubbed his hand trying to reassure him that this was all okay.
Dylan's PoV
Go on, prove you can fight me
Milanas PoV
Dylan opened his eyes. Instantly he backed up and threw up all over the floor. Yes this scared him, of course it would scare him, the memories trapped in these walls were vile and Dylan didn't need the reminder.
Not when this is the house that created a monster
I noticed that Dylan still had that stick sticking out of him. Maybe if he started to lose control I could yank it out and remind me
Dylan regained his posture
"I'll show you around" he said, his voice was shaking and he was forcing the words out.
I squeezed his hand and looked up at him
"I'm really proud of you, remember that" I told him, hoping it it would keep that monster inside of him at bay.
If Dylan made it though the house he would be a stronger person, and he'd have defeated some of his fear.
I just needed to make sure he made it and stayed himself and that he doesn't lose control

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.

Celestial Spark
Mages traditionally make poor fodder, but with proper training and motivation, possess near limitless potential. For mage teams, the battle camps of the Upper Realms provide both, with missions ranging from orc hunts to political espionage. This tale follows one such team of four who strive to prove themselves in a world that would rather overlook them. Loyalty, honour, and devotion are contrasted by avarice, treachery, and apathy, though at times it can be difficult to separate vice from virtue. For though all people, whether they hail from the peripheries or the kingdom capital, are subjects whose fates are bound to the stars, their choices must be their own. Any comments or questions are welcomed.
