Loud, pulse like thumping sounds echoed in my head, my eyelids slightly parted allowing a few seconds of vision. Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion, it was dark and cold. I lay there unable to move, my mind is telling me to move but my body says another, it's like I'm trapped.

Human like silhouettes flood the room, there gaze shortly directing to me and then diverting to the disturbance in the corner. The group of figures huddle up, as they tussle with someone. They sway back and fourth as they attempt to tame the wild beast.

My eyes grow heavy once more as I try to fight the unconsciousness, the last thing I acknowledge is my fragile beaten body being carried out of the darkness before I slip back into the sleep filled abyss.

Ring ring

"Hello?" I question.

"Holy fucking shit...Colt you need to get back here now!!!" A frantic voice fills the car.

"Why, I've just pulled out of the property" I sigh. Before looking over to Nicole who has a concerned look on her face.

"No you need to get back here now!!" He shouts. The rudeness in his voice was irritating me.

"Let's get this straight, don't ever raise your voice at me again-"

"Rogues been attacked and we can't control Ivan!!!" He cuts me off.

"Wait what do you mean she's been attacked!!" I shout back. By now I've already spun the car around and was speeding back to the mansion.

"I'll explain when you get here" the line went out. I was getting a horrible feeling in my stomach, I'm a strong and brave vampire but I'd never cross Ivan. I have very few fears in this world, loosing Nicole, the safety of my family and Ivan. He isn't the type of person to hesitate, but with his powers he's a different person, he can't control them and we can't control him.

I pull up to the mansion and I rush out the door. I push past the guards and make my way to the entrance where a frantic vampire stands.

"What the fuck is going on?" I ask

"Yeah what's going on?" Nicole was out of breath and agitated.

"Go to Tasha's room and don't come out until I tell you" I firmly state

"No I don't-"

"Go!" I've never raised my voice at her before but I didn't have time to fight with her. She quickly ran off and I was certain she was crying. I turn my attention back to the vampire.

"There was an issue with one of the outsiders in the restricted area, Ivan went check it out, he had left Rogue whilst we went to deal with the issue. She must of accidentally opened a cell door-"

"Who's?" I snap, hoping and praying it's not who I think it is.

"Errr it was Tyson's" my head dropped instantly.

"The fiend... a war with the demons is exactly what we need right now" I sarcastically respond

"He attacked her, when we came back down she wasn't there. Ivan started to change, he charged for Tyson's cell and ripped him apart. It happened in seconds, I went straight up the stairs and called the royals. About 10 of them came rushing down but we can't control him"

"Where's Rogue?"

"She's still there I think" he replies

"You left her in there! A room filled with vampires and Ivan!...do you know what will happen if she was to get hurt...if she died!... He would tear threw us all in seconds!!" There was no more time to waste, using vampire speed I went to the restricted area.

I came to a holt when a royal came flying in my direction. His muscular figure hit the walls, cracking the concrete on impact. I reach for his hand to help him up, he had changed into full vamp mode. His fangs were out and his eyes had changed red.

"Where's Rogue?"

"In there" he replies wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.

"What's going on!!!" A manly roar echoed threw the mansion.

Hunters intimidating body appeared in the room, Towering over us.

"Rogues been attacked by Tyson and Ivan's powers are in control" I answer

"Go in and get her" Rose added out of nowhere. She stood to the left of Hunter.

"Ivan's uncontrollable, we don't know what he will do, he could kill us all if we go near her" I replied.

"That's because he's protecting his mate" Said Rose.

"Protecting her! Is he fuck" The injured royal furiously stated.

"What?" Hunter questioned

"Why do you think we're holding him back! Ivan was trying to attack her" the royal spat back.

"That's impossible" Rose added

"Her Blood" said Hunter

There was a short pause before hunter spoke again.

"Get her out of there!" He bellowed.

Hunter ran towards the cell and I follow.There was very little light in the room but the pool of blood was clearly visible. To my right was the Royals who were trying there best to control Ivan, but my attention went straight towards Rogue.

Without out a moment to spare I ran towards her and picked her up. I gently handed her to Rose who then fled the horror scene before running back to the cell. Ivan must of noticed she was gone because his anger grew.

Hunter had grabbed Ivan's head, he violently shook it as he shouted commands in his face.I went over to them and did the same. When I reached him, I was completely thrown back. That wasn't Ivan.

"Stop Ivan! Rogue is fine...calm down...you have to fight it Ivan, gain control" I chant into his ear.

After a few minutes the chanting words had been successful, Ivan wasn't fully in control again but he wasn't trying to attack anyone.

He was like a statue, everyone had backed up out of fear. The fact that he had changed behaviours so quick had left a scared atmosphere in the room.

Ivan snapped his head upwards. A beam of light was on shining on his face, his eyes were completely black, both sets of fangs were on display, blood was smeared across his mouth as his chest rose and fell. It was like a scene from a scary movie, when the camera would focus on the creature just before it was about to attack.

"Get out and lock the cell" were the words that left his mouth. It was warning and it didn't go unnoticed, everyone cleared the room and cell was locked.

We all anxiously stood outside the glass door. The injured royals had reluctantly retreated back to their rooms to sort themselves out, whilst me and Hunter remained here.

"Where is Rogue?" He asks

"With Rose"

"Come"

"What about Ivan?"

"He's not my concern right now, as long as Rogue is okay then he won't be an issue" he heads up the stairs and I'm right on his tracks.

It was silent all the way to Hunters quarters. We stepped inside the spare room, it was all white and neatly laid out.

Rose was sat on the bed attending to Rogue, both myself and Hunter were hesitant to see her condition. Hunter walked towards the bed and his reaction said it all, I slowly stalked over to the bed. My head dropping instantly.

She looked unrecognisable, Her beautiful features had been hidden by bruising and swelling. Cuts and scrapes cover her body. This wasn't the girl that came to me this morning with her sapphire blue eyes and perfect caramel skin, This was a tragedy laying before me.

"Look at her Hunter, she's broken" Rose sadly stated, as she brushed a hair from Rogues wounded face.

"Broken bones, bloody face, cuts and bruises...she almost died" Her anger was beginning to take over.

We both remained silent.

"I've put her to sleep and given her some witches remedy, it will heal her from the inside but it won't do anything for the outside. She will have to heal herself" Rose gets up and shoos us out of the room.

"Ivan is in the cells, it's just for tonight or at least until he controls himself" stated Hunter

"Is he alright ?" She asks

"He's fine love, he just needs some space" comforted Hunter

"Keep an eye on him, you can come back in the morning to check on her. If Ivan's stable then you can bring him...but that's only if he's stable"

I take that as I sign to leave. With one more look at Rogue, I leave and make my way to Tasha's room.

I knock at her door and she quickly opens. I walk in and my eyes land on the very distraught girl sat on the bed.

"Nicole....im sorry, I didn't mean to shout at you" I apologise.

"It's alright" she replies with sad eyes

"Rogue got attacked-"

"She what!" Nicole and Tasha said in sync. They both scramble towards me in need of more answers.

"She's badly hurt but Rose is taking care of her, we had to lock Ivan up to prevent him from doing anything stupid" I add

"Oh my god! Did he attack her!" Nicole screeched

"No love, it's just a precaution"

"Can we see her ?" Tasha questioned

"Not right now, but as soon as she's well enough, I'll take you both to see her".

"Keep me updated"

I nodded at Tasha before me and Nicole make our exit. Myself and Nicole returned to my room, I busied myself for the rest of the day until Nicole fell asleep in my arms.

Next day********

Already dressed I say goodbye to Nicole and make my way to Ivan's parents room.

"Good morning" I greet as I enter through the door. I follow Rose into the room in which Rogue is recovering in.

"How is she?" I ask

"Thats a stupid question....shes recovering, hopefully she will wake up today" Rose snapped. I took it on the chin, having no intentions in answering back I just nod my head.

"Have you checked on Ivan?" Hunter questioned

"No not yet"

"Go and get the oracle, I want answers now. Bring him here and on the way I want you to collect Ivan" Hunter demanded.

In vampire speed I had left and made my way to the Forrest. I stood outside the well disguised cabin.

I pushed the door and walked in, it was quiet and musty.

"Peasant ......oh peasant!!" I called out.

"Did you forget that i have vampire hearing?" I smugly ask, spinning around to see the little freak hiding behind his book shelf.

"Did you forget to knock?" He replied.

"Bazil"

"It's basil and what are you doing here?" He asks

"There's been an incident, Hunter sent for you"

"Incident? He asks

"With Ivan and his mate"

"I get to meet Rogue" his eyes lit up like fire works.

"Let's go Frodo" I grab the fat scraggy haired man by his collar.

"My name isn't Frodo" he angrily snaps whilst trying to get out of my grip.

"Short, brown haired, weird... could of fooled me" I lift him off the floor and take of in vampire speed.

I drop that fat mess outside the Stones room and knock the door before heading to the restricted area.

As I approach the glass door to Ivan's cell, I make sure I'm very quiet. I hesitantly stand outside the door, the decision to get back up was dismissed as I reached for the lock. Pressing the black pad, the door slid open.

"Ivan?"

He steps out from the darkness and I cautiously step back. Ivan looks confused and alarmed. His clothes are ripped, his hairs a mess and he's covered in blood.

"What happened?" I took a few seconds before answering because I didn't want to freak him out.

"Where's Rogue?" He questions.

I continue to stare at him waiting for some sort of change in his behaviour.

"Did you all of a sudden lose your hearing?"

He took a step forward and I took a larger one back, he was getting angry so I decided it would be best to tell him.

"Colt what the fuck happened?"

"You killed Tyson yesterday, you freaked out and your powers took control. We couldn't control you, when we calmed you down you told us too get out and lock the cell door" I reply.

"I killed Tyson?" Ivan asked with a surprised expression.

"Yes"

"Why would I do that?" He Questioned

"Well...."i begin to say

"Colt!"

"Rogue accidentally unlocked his cage, he pulled her in and attacked her"

Ivan's face had turned ghostly, for the first time ever he looked scared. Assessing his features and body language he was still In control, so I carried on.

"She's staying with your parents, she was pretty badly beaten up but she was given some witches remedy to help heal her. Of course she doesn't look very well but it will take time forget to get better" I reassure

He was starting to get angry, his chest was rising and falling quicker then before, I had to stop it before it escalated.

"Ivan you have every right to be mad and I can't imagine what you're going through right now but the way you react right now will determine whether you're allowed to see her or not"

"No one decided whether I get to see her or not" he snarls back

"Ivan please, you don't understand"

"I understand perfectly, you're keeping her away from me"

"You tried to attack her" I blurt out.

"What"

"After you killed Tyson, you tried to attack Rogue, your powers were in control and Rogues blood was messing with your head"

He shook his head as if he didn't believe my words.

"If you're going to get worked up then you can't see her and I don't think that's what you want. When she wakes up I'm pretty sure you're the only person she wants to see"

"I want to see her" he says

"I think you should probably shower and change first, then come to your parents room"

He nods his head and then disappears, I close the cell door and go back to the quarters.

"Is he stable enough" Hunter questions.

"Yes"

"He knows what happened to Rogue?"

"Yes, he was getting angry but I told him if he was going to act out then he wasn't allowed to see her, it calmed him down. I sent him to shower and change, he should be here in a minute"

"Thank you Colt"

"Where's Basil?" I ask

"In there with Rose and Rogue" we make our way to the room. Rogue looks worse, the cuts and bruises are more visible than yesterday.

"Ivan?" Questioned Rose

"Shortly" Hunter replied

I diverted my attention to the short fat guy in the corner of the room, who had a excited look on his face.

"Don't get any ideas Frodo, Ivan will be here shortly and he won't be happy to see you"

"May I ask what I'm doing here then?"

"I want answers, but not yet. We wait until Ivan has arrived" Hunter interrupted.

We all stood around Rogues room as we waited for Ivan to show up. It didn't take very long, about 5 minutes later a knock was heard, I left the room to greet Ivan.

He has showered and changed like he said he would, he was in grey dress pants and a grey knit jumper.

"Remember Ivan you have to keep your cool, she isn't in the best of state right now but don't let her appearance fool you, she's getting better"

I joined the others in the room, we all watched as Ivan slowly walked in the room. The tensions were high we were all waiting for him to snap and attack everyone, but that didn't happen.

He stood in the door way his eyes were locked on the bed, he moved a little bit closer until he was towering over her.

It was visible that he was in great discomfort as he tried to keep calm. His fists had clenched and that was the first sign of his anger building.

"Ivan" Hunter warned

Ivan had gently sat himself down on the right side of the bed which happened to be the way she was facing.

His hand hovered over his face, his hand clenched up as he looked away from her.

"Did i do this to her?" The sadness was laced in his words. He was hurt.

"No Ivan "

"Don't lie to me" he snapped

"I'm not" I replied

He turned to face her once again, he put his hand on her face and delicately brushed his knuckles over her bruised cheek. He repeated that action for a few minutes before standing up to face us.

"How did this happen?.....Why didn't I feel her?" He questioned

"Basil?" Hunter spoke

"What the fucks he doing here?" Ivan spat

"You have questions and I have the answers" basil responds.

"Tell me why I can't sense her, she's my mate. I can't smell her, hear her heart beat I can't do any of that" he states

"How's that even possible, that's not supposed to happen" Rose added

"Ivan.. can I call you that?" Basil teased

"Don't" warned Hunter

"Isn't it obvious, you have a weak bond" he replied

"But we're mates"

"You're mates...so you've said. Your bond is weak because she has doubts. Example you fight and call her a horrible name, she gets upset and questions the relationship putting a doubt in that beautiful little mind of hers"

"That's not a valid reason, that can happen to any mate" defended Rose

"Oh but that's not all is it Ivan?" Basil wore a wicked smile on his face.

"What's he talking about?" I questioned

"Go ahead Ivan" teased Basil

"Ivan" Hunter pressured

"Don't want to talk, well lucky for you I do. You see Mr Stone here has been gifted with powers and as you all know he can't control them. By now he should of been able to control them but Ivan likes to push them away-"

"Enough" Ivan cut in

"No keep going" said Hunter

"I don't want-" Ivan was interrupted by Basil

"You are the only vampire ever to walk this earth to have a heart beat, the power in your body is making your heart pump. That's not supposed to happen but it does and I think we all know the cause of that. Your extraordinary mate-"

"Stop!" Ivan shouted

"Your eyes turned black Ivan that's not suppose to happen. The only others supernatural creatures with black eyes are demons, the power inside of you will turn evil very quickly unless you learn to control it. You have abilities you haven't even discovered yet but your to scared to let them out. And I think you know why that is, who's the reason behind it Ivan?" Basil taunts

"Rogue" Ivan reluctantly replies

"Bingo! Once again Rogue is the cause, the one person you can't live without is laying right there beaten, battered and bruised because your afraid to connect with her. The moment her heart started to race and her palms started to sweat is the moment you should of been down there by her side. But when you did realise she was in danger it was too late and instead of rushing to her side like the night in shining armour you are, you had to be pinned down to stop you ripping out her throat,the smell of her blood brought out the monster inside of you. If you don't embrace the power and control, the next body you'll be sinking your fangs into will be hers" basil argued

"It's his mates blood Basil, how is he supposed to control himself" Rose defended once again.

"You keep to many secrets from your parents Ivan" joked Basil

"Continue" I added

"This isn't the first time Ivan's had thoughts and urges to attack Rogue. A couple of days ago Ivan payed me a little visit, Rogue has given his a kiss on the neck. Ivan came straight to me, he told me that he had to fight something back. A few days before that Ivan went hunting with some of the Royals, he had to beg them not to let him back into the mansion. Ivan hasn't been feeding properly because he's afraid he will try and hurt someone"

"Why haven't you told anyone Ivan?" I ask

"I'm not entitled to tell you everything Colt"he responded

"It would be nice to know that you've been having these thoughts about her" I argue back

"Well now you know" he replied

"What do we do?" Hunter asked
