《Sway(Wattys 2015)》Story time

It's been a week since I saw Ivan and the others.Paris came round to tell me that Anastasia was waiting for me to have a play date.I had already showered and dressed in a black knitted jumper, jeans and black converse before I went to meet Ana.
I had no idea what we were going to do today but it didn't really matter, whenever we were left together we would always find something to do.Ana was waiting by the entrance as always, we greeted each other then decided on going outside.
"How do we get outside ?"
"You have to go out the door" she replied. It was a stupid answer but she was only 6 so I refrained from making a comment.
"Yeah but what door ?" her mouth made the shape of an O, as she understood I needed more information.
We finally found the door to the garden. They were two big glass doors that separated either side.I slid one of the doors open to be hit with the ice cold air, it felt so nice on my skin.It was only September so I don't understand why it's this cold, then I remembered England weather isn't the most predictable.
Ana and I stood in amazement at how big it was.It was a huge field, right at the back was the beginning of the forest, there was a little pond to the left and mini flower gardens scattered around. It wasn't until Ana pointed it out that i realised I hadn't seen a little shed in the back of the garden. I was very curious and curiosity is not a good thing to be having in a mansion filled with vampires.I looked down at Ana who had a big smile on her faces I knew exactly what she was thinking.
"Race ya!" I shouted, before I had time to start counting she was off.I laughed out loud before I began running.
It took us a couple of minutes to get to the shed ,when we reached it both of us were panting like dogs trying to catch our breaths.
"I.win" Ana says between each breath, she started to giggle when I poked my tongue out in response.
The tiny shed ,wasn't so tiny up close in fact it wasn't even a shed. It more of a cabin, we both examined the wooden cabin, it was in good condition someone must of been using it.There was a window by the door.I scraped of the ice and mist with the sleeve of my jumper ,then peered thru.

It was dark so I couldn't see anything, I looked over to Ana but she wasn't there instead she had pushed the door open and made her way in.
"Ana no! where are you going?" I stated in a loud whisper.I stood there for a few seconds debating if it was a good idea to go in after. I sighed in frustration as I went through the door.
I looked back at the mansion to make sure no one was there ,then I shut the door behind me.
"Ana ....Ana ,come on I swear you enjoy getting me in trouble, Ana" I whisper whilst walking thru the dark. The only light was from the window but it wasn't very much but it was all I needed to see the lamp. I walked towards the lamp and switched it on.The tiny lamp lit up the hall room.
"Boo!" Ana's sudden surprise sent me 5 feet in the air.I bent down to pick her up but heard someone on the cabin.I quickly picked Ana up and hid her in the corner. I turned the lamp off and hid waiting for the person to come out.
The light came on and the footsteps got louder.I looked over to Ana who had a scared expression on her face, I put my finger to my lips to make sure she stayed quite.
"Hello?" before I could stop myself I grabbed an object and hit them with it.I was confused when they didn't go down , I looked at the object in my hand and realised it was a pillow.
"Oh my ,what was that" I recognised the voice , I peered my head around the corner to see Miss Jones with a confused face and her all messed up and out of place.
"I'm so sorry, Miss Jones I thought you were a murderer" i shrugged
"It's alright dear, how did you get in?"
"I was with Ana an- crap Ana " I ran to the corner and picked up a very traumatised Ana. it didn't take get long to get over it when she realised who it was .
"Why are you here Miss Jones?"
"This is where I stay" I looked at her with confusion
"You live here , it's so far away"

"Not all the time, just when I want a break from the craziness, you know " she responds
"Do they know you're down here?"
"Of course, I've worked for Mr Stone for a very long time 32 years to be exact "
"What! 32 years......excuse me for asking but how old are you?" I question
"50"
"So you were 18 when you started working here?"
"Yeah about that, It's a long story really.Ill make some hot chocolate and I'll tell you "
She made three cups , I made sure Ana's wasn't too hot before I gave it to her she was sat on the couch watching tv.
"So?"
"So what?"
"How did you get here ?"
"Oh yeah sorry dear.So when I was 18 I got into trouble with a vampire, his name is jack he lives here.A real nasty piece of work , I had no idea he was a vampire I thought he was my friend , I trusted him a lot.I burrowed some money of him, it was just a loan.Times were tough so I couldn't pay him back , I could barely survive. So I disappeared for a little while, I was about to turn 18 when word got around someone was looking for me.I had no idea it was jack, so when he found me things went downhill. He found me and attacked me, I was pretty beaten up, he bought me back here. He was about to kill me when Ivan disturbed him, he was furious that he brought me back here alive.I was out cold for about 3 weeks ,when I woke up he told me I could stay here until I fully recovered.32 years later I'm still here "
"Wow, what a story. To think that I thought Mr Stone was dangerous "
"Now hold on a diddlydarn second" her choice of words made me laugh.
"Just because he helped me doesn't mean he isn't dangerous"
"But-"
"But nothing, I've worked here for a very long time.He makes Jack the Ripper look like Winnie the Pooh, don't forget he's a vampire , what do vampires drink ...blood and where do you think they get it from...humans, this isn't twilight Mr Stone isn't no Edward Cullins. Living and cleaning up after a load of vampires isn't a walk in the park, I wanted to be a doctor before I came here, I wasn't afraid of blood until I walked in on Mr Stone standing in blood ankle deep. Not an ounce of remorse was on his face. When I questioned him he pointed towards a pile of body's.There were plenty of vampires born before him , yet he's the most powerful and most feared of them all. He isn't afraid of anyone or anything and pathetic humans like us don't stand a chance" it took me a long time to process what she had just said and even longer to reply.I don't know why I was surprised , it just seemed hard to believe.
"But I thought he was the leader because of his powers"
"Not exactly, after he went on a killing spree , his mother and father feared what will happen when he got his powers ,so instead they went to a witch who made a spell that when he found his mate he would get his powers , God help us when that happens , he will be unstoppable."
"Why does he have powers?"
"I don't know ,you'll have to ask him.But I wouldn't recommend doing that , not unless you want to get killed"
"Ok"
"Just stay away from him, i know you did a job with them but just keep the evolvement to a minimum. I really like you Rogue, you remind me of of myself. I hope you get out of here and live a proper life, unlike the other girls ,myself and the other workers think you're the only one with a brain in this place, don't get me wrong you're all lovely and I enjoy being around you all but let's not kid ourselves they are all delusional" she ranted
We both stayed in here for a little while , then headed back outside.A few games have played ,before we headed back to the mansion. On the way back Ana was complaining that she was hungry so we began to walk to the kitchen.
