I walked into the living room after hanging up Jisoo's coat and putting away her shoes. I didn't expect her to be hugging someone.
I don't even know who this guy is, I couldn't see his face since Jisoo was hugging him tightly. I looked at my mother who was seated on the other couch. I raised an eyebrow and she shrugged her shoulders.
I wasn't jealous, just confused.
Some random dude in our house makes Jisoo act like this. It makes me wonder who he is?
She finally moved away from him, a huge smile on her face. I got a good look at his face, and wow.
He looks exactly like Jisoo. His nose, face shape and lips. They were the same. I blinked a few times, trying to process what's going on.
Sibling? I thought Jisoo was an only child.
"Chae. Come sit down, " My mother said, patting the seat beside her. I nodded, shoving my hands into my hoodie's pockets and sitting down. "So, Jin..." His name is Jin. "...Mind telling us who you are?"
"Sorry, " He bowed. "I'm Jin, Jisoo's brother. Lovely to meet you." He smiled at me and I smiled back.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Chaeyoung's mother. She's her gi-"
"-My friend!"
My eyebrows raised at that and I glanced at Jisoo. She shook her head and mouthed me to stay quiet. I nodded. Maybe he doesn't know her preference. I nudged my mother and she cleared her throat.
"Yeah. I'm her best friend."
"So you live with your best friend and her mother?" He glanced to his sister who nodded vigorously. I could sense the nervousness. "You're so weird sometimes, " He chuckled.
"Well, Jin. Want something to eat? Drink?" My mother stood up. "I can get dinner going on for everyone?"

"Chae and I just ate, " Jisoo said. "Jin. Help Ahjumma with the cooking. You're a professional."
He nodded, standing up and following my mother into the kitchen.
She moved to sit next to me, resting her head on my shoulder. "Sorry, babes. He doesn't know... And Eomma never let me tell him."
I caressed her hair with one hand. "It's alright, Chu. You can take your time. I don't mind."
"Will you be okay sleeping in your room?" I tensed up at that. I've never slept in my own room. Not even when Jisoo wasn't here. I slept with my Eomma or on the couch. I don't like it. "It'll only be a few nights till Jin finds a new place. He'll find it odd you sleeping with me."
I looked down, fiddling with my fingers. "Yeah... Okay."
"Hey, it'll only be for a few nights. I promise any chance I get, I'll come sleep with you." I avoided her eyes, nodding. I don't want to sleep in my own room, I want to sleep with her.
I hate sleeping in the big room by myself. "I'm sorry, Chaengi."
"Does it matter what he thinks? We're best friends in his eyes. We can sleep in the same room."
She sighed, holding my hand. She moved away when my mother came back. I sorted out the way I was sitting and turned my frown into a big smile.
Jin started to eat, making chat with his sister whilst my mind ran around that one thing.
Sleeping in my own room.
I laid there, in my own room, staring at the ceiling as my heart pounded. I don't know why it was scaring me. My pillow was on my chest and it hurt. The beating of it hurt. I took a deep breath in and out.

I hate this. Jin had taken the spare room. If I go to Jisoo, no one would know, right?
I sat up, contemplating whether I should or not. I decided to just take out my keyboard and play. It was just a small tune I play when I'm bored. It wasn't anything special.
I added some more tunes to it, experimenting with different keys and sounds. There was a knock on my door.
"Come in, "
Jisoo cane in, tiredly. She rubbed her eyes and once she got a view of what I was doing, furrowed her brows. "Why are you awake?"
I shrugged my shoulders, not wanting to get rid of the tune I was playing. I wrote the notes down and she came up on the bed to sit next to me. "Can't you sleep?"
"I don't like my room and you know that, " I said, avoiding her eyes. "I didn't want to sleep by myself in here. But you made me. Jin isn't even going to come in here."
She chuckled slightly, for inn me to face her. "Why are being sulky? It's just a room, Chae. Close your eyes and you'll be asleep. It'll be the morning before you even realise it."
I moved my face away, pouting. "I hate it in here. It's so scary."
"Go sleep on the couch then." She didn't offer for me to sleep with her. I sighed, not answering her as I got up, grabbed my blanket and pillow and left, slamming the door.
I mumbled annoying words as I made my way downstairs and slumped myself on the couch.
"Are you moody?" Jisoo laughed, coming downstairs. "What's wrong, huh? You don't want to sleep in your room?"
"I'm tired." I turned around. She giggled, coming to sit on top of me. "Get off."
"I'm so sorry." She came to hug me but I didn't respond. She kissed me multiple times. "I'm sorry, baby. Don't be angry at me."
"I'm not, " I said, nudging him away. "Let me sleep now."
"Aww, stop being a baby." She chuckled, squishing my cheeks. "I'm sorry. Jin won't accept me. He's my brother, yes. But I don't know."
I sighed, closing my eyes. She tapped my arm. "Sorry, " She repeated the apology. I gave up and brought her in my arms, hugging her tight. I didn't let her go and covered us with a blanket.
"If you want me to accept your apology, sleep here."
"But what about Jin-"
"-I don't care."
She tried to pull away and I cupped her face. "Does it matter? Is he the one I want to love?"
She looked down and I kissed her face.
"Stop being so paranoid. He will accept you."
"Okay..."
"Now. Can we sleep?" She nodded and nuzzled her face into my neck. "I love you. You don't need his acceptance."
"I love you too..."

Love Of Baybur [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
The Sultanate won a huge battle against their enemies of different religion, and now left them with only a piece of land surrounded by Sultanate's forces. Baybur, a yerliyya from a backwater place, is hailed as a hero after the war for his past contributions in a strange manner and is, thus, invited to a banquet prepared by the Sultan and attended by many Great Nobles. To Baybur, who had dreams of stepping on a higher stage in Sultanate's politics, and in his Orta's ranks, this is a chance for him to shine and rise. Yet he, and many in the banquet, knows that victory is far from over. And this presents a chance, with greater risk than before, to impress the Sultan and the Pashas of the Sultanate. Sanjak-beys and Aghas of the Janissary Corps all seek to devour their enemies, both in and out of the Sultanate. And Baybur, in the midst of this brewing storm, is no different from a fish dreaming to be a dragon. But a woman he meets at the banquet changes everything; his goals, his dreams, and his fate. After all, love, without expression, is a deadly curse. As a note, Cover is not mine obviosuly, and I write this both for NaNoWriMo and Writathon. To some history lovers and nerds who specialize in it, I know you might be angered quite a deal with some things I've written.(I get the feeling when someone talks wrong foolish things in a study I know, no hate) But this is a historical fiction written by a seventeen-year-old, don't expect much from me to know every single detail. Much of my research is surface level and some things are, well, to fit plot, are changed. So bear that in mind. For schedule/chapter thingt, there will be at most five chapters until I pass the 55.555 words mark. Each chapter will be around or above 10k+ words. It is also not edited, and probably won't be unless I find a great deal of time in my hands after November to see what I lack in where. That's all. Now go read, or leap to another fiction. Enjoy!
