"G, Jisoo. Not A. How many times do I have to help you?" Chaeyoung grumpily said. Her front was pressed against my back, her fingers on mine as she tried to teach me this new piece. "Again."

When she moved away from me, I started the piece again, still hitting the A. "Jisoo." She glared at me. "The competition is soon and you can't even get this right?"

"I forgot. Let me go again, " I said, keeping in my mind to hit G. I hit A and she sighed in disbelief. "Shit."

"G. Hit the G." She rubbed her forehead and told me to go again. This time, I hit G. She showed me a smile and rolled her eyes. "Finally. What time is this now? 5th?"

I chuckled. "Seriously, Jisoo. Practise harder. You won't be able to mess up there. It's a big competition." Chaeyoung isn't singing with me for this competition. This one is just my playing skills. And I know, if I win, my popularity will shoot up. Not pass my mother, but I have to thank her for birthing me. Her being my mother gives me an advantage.

"I know. I'm trying, " I said, rolling my eyes and turning back around. "Geez. You're not much help."

"Say that louder, princess." She said in her cold tone, looking over papers. "Last time I checked, I even showed you where G was. Don't blame it on me."

I mimicked her before going back to playing. She saw and chuckled, coming to sit next to me. "Being cocky?"

"Think you're all that because you're teaching me?" I said back.

She raised her hands in defence, coming in to peck my lips. "You're so cute when you try and act hard."

"I'm not trying to act-" She shut me up with another peck, giggling when she pulled apart. "Yah. I'm not try-" Again. "Stop kiss-" She did it again. "Stop-" This time she grabbed my face, pulling me in for a deep kiss.

She pulled apart when we both were gasping for air. My hair was a mess and I was flustered. She noticed and went back to her papers like nothing happened.

I'm never like this for anyone. I don't know how she makes me feel this way.

It's frustrating.

I stared at her face for a moment, taking the time to take in the beauty. She's my motivation for everything. Even when I feel like shit and I don't feel like getting up in the morning or trying... She's always the first one in my mind.

I love her.

"What are you staring at?" She looked up at me. "Something on my face?" I shook my head, smiling. She mirrored my silly smile.

I turned back around, playing the piece till perfection.

We decided to go on a date after. After all, we hadn't seen each other for a while. We ate dinner and are currently walking down the park, hands intertwined.

"Nervous for your show?" She asked, breaking the silence.

"Yeah..." I felt calm when she caressed my hand with her thumb, shoving both our hands in her pocket. "You'll be there, right?"

"Of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world, " She said, turning to me and smiling. "You're going to win. I know it."

I chuckled, bringing her hand up to my face to kiss it. "How are you so sure? There will be tons of talented people there."

"But you'll be the best there." She put our hands back into her pocket. "Plus, you have an advantage."

"My Eomma?"

"No."

"Huh?"

"Me."

I chuckled, "What?"

She turned to me, bringing out a small box she had in her pocket. She opened it, showing a small ring inside. It had our initials engraved on it. I felt my heart clench and burst.

She's the best.

I looked back up at her, pulling her by the back of the neck for a kiss. She smiled against my lips, slowly slipping the ring on my finger. "I spent a lot of time in the café for this. Do you like it?"

"You shouldn't have, " I said, admiring its beauty. I looked back into her eyes. "Seriously, you shouldn't have. You could've used the money for something else."

"You're the only thing I want to spend my money on."

"I love it, " I said, answering her previous question. "I love it so much."

"I love you so much."

She came back closer, kissing me. I couldn't help but stare at the ring all the way home. I know they don't have much money, but she still does this.

It makes me love her even more.

I smiled a wide smile and skipped my way home. We pranced around in the park for a bit before we arrived home.

When we entered, there was a pair of unfamiliar shoes at the door and a man's voice. It was recognisable but I couldn't tell who it was. I left Chaeyoung at the door, throwing my coat for her to pick up as I made my way to the living room.

I was surprised by who was sitting there..
