《Musical Teacher.》Episode - 3

"Is she really that bad?" My friend asked, sipping on her coffee.

I smacked my head on the table, resting it there and mumbling, "Yes. She's a literal nightmare."

"Chae, I'm sure she's just getting used to you." She shrugged her shoulders and I let out a very discomfort groan.

"Well, Jen. We're three lessons in and she hasn't even got her posture right!" I repeatedly slammed my head on the table, earning weird looks from a lot of people. "She's rude and arrogant."

"Jisoo isn't as bad as everyone thinks she is. You've just got to get close to her, " I didn't mention it but Jennie is related to Jisoo. They're cousins. "You just really have to try with her."

"Well, she hates piano and I so happen to be her piano teacher." I chuckled. "Not going to work. She hates my guts already."

"Want me to talk to her?" Jennie asked, shoving a croissant in her mouth. "She loves me and I'm sure she'll consider you if she finds out we're best friends."

"No thanks. She doesn't need to know I ramble on about her." I sat back up, eating my food too. "She seems to be nice to her appa though. If she wasn't, I would've refused to teach her. He's a nice guy."

"Yeah. He looks out for everyone. Even me and I'm related to her Eomma and not him personally." She smiled. "He helps our family a lot and does so much for us."

"What about her Eomma?" Jennie stopped eating once my question was out. She sighed.

"I don't think I have the right to talk about that, " She smiled. "The best person that does have the right to talk about it is Jisoo. I can't say anything on her behalf."

"I understand, " I smiled and we changed the subject to something else. Jisoo is probably sneezing right now anyways.

"Agh! Come on! Can we please move onto something else!" Jisoo yelled, her back arching indicating it was hurting.

"You haven't even got this right yet!"

"But I have! Please. I want to learn piano and not how to sit, " Her voice was tensed. I sighed.

"Fine." I walked up to her. "Spread your fingers out." She smirked at me.

"Now, Park. Isn't that a bit kinky- ouch!" I pulled her hand and spread them myself. I slammed them on the keyboard and she winced in pain. "Okay, okay! Sorry!"

I smiled at her and loosened my grip on her hand. She rubbed her wrist and gave me the deadliest look before resting her hand on some keys. I then carefully took her fingers, which she flinched to, and guided them to the right keys.

"This is C. Middle C. Remember that." She nodded. I may have hurt her a bit too much. She's gone quiet. "Leave that one there." I took her other finger and guided it to the next key. "D." The next. "E." She got the hang of it and rested her two other fingers on the keys after. "F and G."

"Is there no A?" She asked confusedly. I chuckled at her slightly. She can be a total sweetheart when she wants to be.

I leaned over her, slightly pressing on the two keys to earn a low hum. "A and B are here."

"So why don't I start on them?"

"I don't know. Just deal with it." She rolled her eyes. "Your hand is going to move so don't worry."

She pressed her hand harshly down, the sound being horrendous to the point I had to cover my ears. "Yah!"

She chuckled. "Deal with it." I really feel like slapping her. I have to keep my cool though. I always keep my cool. No one can break me. Not even her.

I took a deep breath. "Why don't we try twinkle twinkle." I smiled at her. I handed her a sheet with the letters on them.

"So I just have to move my hand? I can use my left hand, right?" I nodded and she started. It started broken and the notes she was hitting were wrong, but she eventually got the hang of it. We had played it about twenty times when she had gotten it perfect.

I clapped, "Well done!"

"Fuck this. I'm never doing piano."

"Language, Kim."

"Sorry." She raised her hands. "Why is this so complicating? There are too many keys to learn."

I chuckled, patting her head. She moved my hand away and I leaned over her. I felt her stiffen when I rest my front against her back, letting my hair droop over her.

Why did she suddenly stop moving about? I can't even hear her breath.

I pressed a couple of keys, playing a small tune as I hummed to it too. "They're all the same keys, just different pitches. This A is lower and this A is higher."

She didn't nod or move. I heard her breath hitch when she tried to form a word but her mouth just formed a couple of letters before she sealed it shut.

I found it weird so I moved away. She let out a long breath and didn't even turn around. "You okay?"

"Y-yep!" Her voice cracked. She cleared her throat before turning to me. Her face was bright red. "Are we done for today?"

"I only came an hour ago?" She nodded. "Let's move on to the beats on the bar."

We finished for today and I was packing up my stuff. "Park, someones texting you." I turned around and found Jisoo spinning my phone in her hand.

At first, glance, judging by the long texts on the screen, the texter was my friend. An important friend. "Jisoo. Hand it then."

I tried getting it off of her, but she just jumped about, making my heart drop when she would toss it about. "Kim. Give it!"

She shook her head, standing behind the drawer. "Ooh. Is it your boyfriend?"

"Kim. Don't you dare read my texts."

"Or what?" A playful smirk formed on her face, her eyebrows raising. She started to read. "Roseanne. Your mother has been administrated to another hospital. Her vitals dropped and we need to perform surgery..." Her eyebrows furrowed as she continued to read. Her tone dropped and she looked at me.

I snatched the phone off of her, scratching her wrist. "Why do you have to be like this? This is my private property!" I yelled.

I quickly read the text over, making sure my eyes didn't deceive me. Her vitals dropped. I can't afford the surgery now. I bit my lip, suppressing my tears. I quickly grabbed my coat and left.

I probably made her feel guilty, but she shouldn't have read that. That was my personal information, not hers.

I caught a taxi, zooming into the hospital I was sent in texts. I paid, thanked and rushed into the hospital. I panted as the nurses looked at me worriedly.

"Are you okay?" A nurse asked, rubbing my back. I showed her a thumbs up, catching my breath. "Is Mrs Park in here? What room?"

"The one that just arrived? She's been rushed to surgery."

My heart dropped, and so did I. The nurse was shouting asking me what was wrong and I couldn't help but cry. I can't lose my mother, but I can't afford this. I took the piano job so I could earn some money.

I wanted to wait a couple of weeks so I could start saving. This is bad.

But my Eomma deserves to live.

I should start working harder.

And work more jobs.

I have to pay for this.

They can't take her away.
