《Bound by Fate》Chapter 36

Adam watched as his beloved lay in her bed lying staring at the canopy extended over her. He made no effort to reach out and explain himself. It would only lead to fighting and the doctor had told him not to put stress on her which fighting would do. She had to reach out first. He could otherwise make her angry or put pressure on her to say something which could do the same.

All he wanted was to reach out and touch her. To let her know that he loved her. She was his heart's eternal desire and love. He did not like how silent she was being. It was not normal. Where was the fighting female he had taken not so long before.

"Y-you're... my... wolf."

She finally spoke. Her voice was weak and dry. She spoke slow with gaps between her words as she stared up.

"Yes I am my darling," he replied calmly and softly.

"I see."

Where was her fight? He was sure she would scream at him and deny all she had seen telling him that he was wrong. A humans mind would always try to comprehend things and would likely reject the idea if it could not understand.

"You heard everything then. You heard how much I wanted to leave. You heard how much I hated you. You heard it and yet you returned to me. Why would you put yourself through so much pain?" She asked.

"Because it was the only way to be near you. You rejected my human form and I was desperate for some acceptance from you. I did not care if you expressed all your hate in front of me. That form was my only chance to build a natural relationship with you. It was my only means to get near you. I was able to experience what it meant to be loved by you. In my wolf form I seemed to be less prone to acting out. You would always sink further into hatred, anger or despair when I interacted with you as I am now," he said rambling on in a desperate attempt to convey his motivations to her.

"Why didn't you clarify? I took your confession as a joke. If you had clarified there would not have been such trouble. I would have gotten away and you could have dealt with the problem but I got hurt and dragged you down."

"I only care that you are safe now," he sighed cupping her cheek.

"I ran in front of a wild and dangerous wolf because you decided to withhold a little itsy detail that would have maybe prevented me doing that," she said rolling her eyes.

"Its quite a big detail. You've already tried to run from me as a human what would you do if you found out I was a—"

"Werewolf? You should have just come clean to me. You're always beating around the bush. It makes it difficult for me to understand. I honestly thought you people might have been some cult, talking about weird things and acting weird. To be fair most girls surprisingly dream of getting a werewolf boyfriend," she shrugged slowly sitting up with quite a bit of pain.

"Werewolf?"

"That's your kind's name isn't it? You should read the stories they write online about your kind. I doubt most of it is true but I guess they got some things right," she giggled through the pain.

"We are called lycans. Also what is online. Also what is a boyfriend. I am not a boy nor a friend, I am a lot more than either, mate," he said.

"A boyfriend is basically a mate that you get to choose and it is before marriage or getting engaged. You can switch boyfriends and I don't want to waste my breath explaining what online is when you have no internet," she said.

"Okay now why don't you lie back down," he said not giving her a choice as he lowered her to the bed.

She puffed her cheeks in annoyance at his actions.

"Rest little bunny," he teased tapping her cheeks.

"I am not a—"

Her words were cut off by a kiss that happened to be placed right on her lips.

When his lips were lifted her face was a bright red and despite having been kissed before she was entirely speechless.

"Get some sleep bunny," he said softly.

Despite wanting to protest Sara knew he was right. She felt weak and in pain. She was tired, she had hardly any energy left, and she found herself closing her eyes, concealing the image of his loving face that looked down on her.

A smile graced his lips as for once his beloved did as she was told and went to sleep and he kissed her forehead. He was glad she was asleep where she was unable to experience the pain as vividly.
