《Bound by Fate》Chapter 25

Sara awoke to the sight of a maid with a silver tray in her hands. The curtains were drawn back and light flooded the room.

"Milady your breakfast," the girl said curtseying to Sara and placing the tray on the bed.

Sara sat up in the bed rubbing her eyes tiredly and the girl stared at her with a look almost resembling horror as she saw the pyjama shorts and t-shirt she was wearing.

"Milady, do you desire to get dressed?" The girl asked.

"Um I'm already dressed," Sara replied confused as she took the tray and looked at the delicious breakfast.

The girl nodded and stood keeping her head down her expression conveying something akin to horror at the choice of clothing the Lady had.

"Do you want some? There is too much here for me to eat," Sara offered.

The girl stared wide eyed.

"Y-yes please milady," she said and she took a slice of toast and ate it rather happily.

Sara soon finished her food and found a note on the tray and read it whilst the maid ran a bath for her.

"To my dearest beloved Sara:

Good morning, I hope the breakfast is to your satisfaction. Please join me in the ballroom once you have finished getting ready for the day.

Love Adam"

Sara could not help blushing whilst recounting what he had said the night before or possibly that morning with how late it was and how he had practically grovelled just for her to give him a chance.

She was sure he was going to blow that one chance out of proportion but she could not find it in her heart to deny him just a chance. As long as he stopped kidnapping her. She would have also liked to have stopped wearing the annoying dresses but she guessed she would just try wear the night dresses as much as possible because they were far more comfortable and they were very beautiful at the same time.

"Milady the bath is run."

"Thank you. I really appreciate it," Sara smiled getting out of her bed and walking to the bathroom where there was a large bath with rose petals and scented soaps.

She slipped off her clothes and slowly climbed in the bath giving a small sigh of pleasure as the water rose against her skin as she descended into luxury and began to wash herself before lying back and falling asleep.

"Sara!"

The girl jolted up in the bath, awakening with a start from her sleep.

Her body began shivering as she felt how freeing cold the bath water had become and she did not like the biting cold temperature one bit.

Her eyes met the King's and she sunk her body up to her neck under the rose petal water, her arms crossed over her chest and her knees up to cover herself.

"M-morning," she squeaked.

She noticed his eyes had not once wondered to her nude form in the water. He instead looked at nothing but her eyes. Men and boys where she was from were usually not that respectful or at least not in teen fiction or any fiction in the books she read. They would usually make a flirty or somewhat sexual comment which would have the girl blushing a furious red in embarrassment but he was not like that.

"You look frozen to death my love," he said extending a fluffy white towel to her which she gratefully took, covering herself as she stood up and she wrapped it around herself and took a step forward and slipped, screaming.

She looked up, suspended in air to find her towel clad body just a little way above the water in his arms.

"T-thank you," she said as he lifted her out of the water in his arms.

"Pleasure my love, now why don't you go get dressed."

Sara nodded and was put down on her feet and left the bathroom and went to the walk in closet and chose a simple silk nightdress to wear.

She walked out the closet and saw him sitting on her bed.

"Sweetheart that's a night dress," Adam said.

"I know. I just find them to be more comfortable and closer to the clothes I normally wear. Honestly are corsets and huge dresses the reason for the idea of women taking forever to get ready," she replied.

"Well I'm happy to see your face sooner. You look beautiful regardless my love. Come I believe we were supposed to go to the ballroom together," he said extending his hand which she took hiding a giggle.

He led her through the castle to a pair of large doors which had golden designs of wolves and had emeralds and other jewels adorning them.

He opened the doors to reveal a large and very grand ballroom with a huge chandelier and smooth glistening floors and she stared speechless at how magnificent it was.

An orchestra began to play the most beautiful music she had ever heard.

He moved away from her and stood in front of her and had his hand extended again, something she thought was slightly strange as they could have just kept holding hands.

"Care to dance, my lady?" He asked.

Her hand gently lowered itself onto his.

"I'd love to," she replied, entranced.

He placed a hand on her lower back and her free hand went to place itself on his shoulder.

He led her in a waltz to the music, gracefully stepping back and forward which she followed with a gentle smile on her face.

He spun her around slowly and her dress spun out a bit along with her hair she had brushed and plaited after getting dressed.

"You are so beautiful my love, if it was not so soon into my courting of you I would propose to you right this minute," he said as they resumed their former positions and continued a waltz around the hall.

A blush could not help but form on her cheeks at his endearing comments and she smiled a bit more. She made no attempt to hide her blush out of shyness as she kept her gaze on his eyes that mesmerized her and had her full attention captured.

Without a single warning her hand slipped out of his and her other hand left his shoulder and he looked down dejectedly believing that telling her his thoughts had possibly scared her off.

Her hands gently each held a side of his face and he looked up surprised and confused whilst she stood on her tippy toes to properly reach him.

Her hands pulled his face down and her lips pressed against his and he was practically frozen, a billion thoughts rushing through his head at that moment.

Sara was unable to control herself. Her body and her heart, her entire being, longed for him. It was a feeling like no other. She could not understand why she was doing what she was doing but she was doing it and she could not help herself. She desired to feel his gentle touches dancing over her skin, his voice in her ear and his lips controlling his.

She could not explain the feelings she felt. It felt stronger than any infatuation or crush she had ever had. It felt pure and beautiful. She had no category for it.

Her mind was whispering the word love through her head. She doubted it was love. How could she love someone who she had only actually been around for one week since she had been locked up for the other two weeks. He was not the nicest man previously and in her strange dreams he was angry, wanting to possess her and take her by force.

She could not deny the fact that he had changed. He no longer forced her around. He allowed her a bit more freedom. He was trying to make up for his mistakes because he believed he loved her. If he was trying to bend a few rules of his society, the society he had been born into, raised according to and lived in and ruled over, he had to love her. She knew if someone like him came into her way of life she would have a hard time changing for them.

Adam was very confused. He wasn't planning on kissing her on the lips till proposing. He didn't understand why she was kissing him, he knew she did not agree with anything he had done to her, she had gone as far as to run away so how did she end up, in less than twenty-four hours of her rearrival, end up kissing him.

He couldn't understand why she was the one to ignite the first kiss between them. He was trying to be more open to her way of life but he still believed he should be the one to lead her. He hoped she was not trying to fight him for dominance in their relationship. He was the King, he loved his queen but there had to be a certain balance of power.

His confusion was put on hold when the girl began to wrap her hands around his neck and pull closer to him and he could taste the sweetness of her lips.

He wasted no time reciprocating the kiss after that. His inner beast somehow enjoyed his beloved's show of affection. He could not let her affection go unnoticed, not when it seemed she was finally feeling something towards him that was not her abhoring and despising him.

Her lips pulled away and he whined in disappointment as she panted. He loved every second of the kiss and wanted to continue.

"What's wrong my love? Was I not good enough? Did my lips not taste as sweet as yours?" He asked vulnerable, afraid to lose his beloved.

He had never been more afraid of anything but the thought of her leaving again was heartbreaking. All he wanted was her love and to love her, something he had been inadequate at doing the previous time and had failed to keep her.

"N-no. I just needed air. Your lips taste amazing though- I-I'm sorry. I just realised I forced myself in you. I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking," she said.

"Do not fret my love. Your lips are far sweeter than the sweetest honey. I would prefer to have led you my darling, but your show of affection makes my heart swell with joy and makes me feel so happy. I don't think you realise how much I love you Sara," he said.

Her heart fluttered at an insane pace from his words and her cheeks had never felt so hot in her life, not even when she was sunburnt.
