《Bound by Fate》Chapter 15

Sara woke up in her bed with her covers neatly draped over her.
Light was shining through the curtains of her door and that same light was visible even through the transparent layers of soft silk curtains surrounding her bed.
Yawning, she got up, pushing aside the curtains as she got to her feet. She winced as she felt a burn in her back and she walked to the door and opened it and saw a guard.
"Milady the King has ordered you to stay in bed," he said putting his hand on her back and leading her towards the bed.
"Why? I don't see why-" Sara protested turning around.
"Sara. Bed now," the King said walking in.
"And you don't touch her," the King growled at the guard who instantly removed his hand.
"Good. Now leave," the King said and the guard ran out and closed the door.
"Sara go to-"
"Why do I need to do as you say? You're not my father," she said defiantly, crossing her arms.
"Sara you need to rest. You nearly died," he replied.
"And I feel fine," she retorted.
"Sara this is not up for debate. Go to the bed," he said.
"No," she said for the sake of defying him.
"Very well then," he sighed and in seconds the girl was on his shoulder and he gently lowered her to the mattress.
"How are your burns doing?" He asked as his hand ran over her arm.
"I-it hurts a bit. Can I maybe get an ice pack for it" she said.
"I have no idea what that is," he replied and she sighed.
"Just rest princess," he said.
"Stop trying to be dominant over me. If you don't want me to defy you then you should just as well let me go," she said.

"I think we've discussed this topic more than once sweetheart and you are still here," he said with a victorious smirk painted across his lips as he observed the expression of defiance on the face of his beloved.
"Tell me why I'm still here. I'm an inconvenience your highness. I won't stop defying you until I see my family," she declared.
"Then I shall never have another boring moment in my life but can you not remember last night. You should have all your answers then and just a reminder, you were very compliant at dinner," he said.
"I hate you!"
"Sure you do," he said feeling a strange sense of confidence, not that he wasn't usually confident.
"Don't patronize me!"
"I'm only agreeing," he said innocently.
He stared at her lips, feeling a desire to experience them against his own and he slowly leaned over making her lean back until her back was against the bed and her leaned down and she screamed in pain as her back pressed more into the mattress.
It was less than three seconds before she was cradled in the King's arms being rocked back and forth while he whispered in her ear.
Her hands clutched at him in pain and he melted against her, feeling complete with her in his arms.
"I-it hurts," she whispered.
"It's all okay princess. I'll get the doctor for you," he said.
"Guards!"
"Yes your majesty?"
"Call the Royal Doctor now."
The guards nodded and left.
"Your highness," the doctor said entering out of breath with his clothes looking untidy from sprinting across the castle.
"Take a look at her back, it's burning. I need you to find a way to relieve the pain for her," Adam said.

"It may help to kiss it better for her," the doctor suggested and Sara screamed in panic as she found herself on her stomach, her sleeves were gently pulled down and the dress moved down a bit with them to expose part of her upper back to the King.
"Let go of me you weirdo!" She screamed struggling beneath his strong hold, which he kept loose enough to not hurt her.
"Your highness we can otherwise give her some herbs and medicine to dull the pain. I think it would be more comfortable for the lady," the doctor said.
A shiver went through her back as he placed a few soft, feather-light kisses on her skin, which made her feel weak, vulnerable and strange. Her pain did however feel slightly less but that did not make the position anymore bearable or comfortable for her, instead it made her feel helpless.
"Please stop. I'm uncomfortable," she whispered trembling.
"Your highness she feels threatened."
The King immediately went alert and shot up.
"Now if you would please leave her ladyship your high-" the doctor said before being cut off by a feral growl.
"I will do with her as I want and I am helping her so do not question me. I don't see anyone being injured or dying from my actions," Adam said growling.
"O-of course my King. I'll go get the herbs and medicine," the doctor said running out the room and leaving the wolf king to tend to the girl who was still unaware of herself being his mate.
