《Bound by Fate》Chapter 5

Sara stared out through the window watching rain droplets racing each other down the glass in front of the forest backdrop while she was trapped inside the room as she had been for two weeks.
On the sunnier days she had instead of staring out of a window stared over the balcony.
It was definitely too high to jump and escape with her life if she escaped and there was no way for her to climb down.
Every day she was visited by maids who would get her done and clean the room and leave her breakfast and then later her tray would be removed and replaced with lunch which was also later removed at supper time when she would be undressed and bathed and then dressed into a night dress and given supper and then that process would be repeated again.
It was a boring process to follow for two weeks straight and the only things stopping her dying from boredom were her thoughts and the sheets of paper she wrote and sketched on to occupy herself for her many hours of unexplained loneliness.
She had tried to talk to the maids who she was sure were sweet but they were quiet so she never knew what they truly were thinking. She just hoped it was meant to be part of their job and not 'if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all' because if it was the latter she would feel rather saddened that they possibly disliked her.
However they did nothing more than the routine jobs and the only times they would utter a word to herwas when they would ask her to undress before bathing or if she approved of her clothes which were all dresses which, although they were beautiful, were not entirely fit for 2019 or the 21st century in general.
She felt like she was a doll to be dressed up according to them in how she had her hair done nicely and they always put a beautiful ribbon in it and took pride in dressing her in the beautiful dresses, she was thankful she did not have to wear that corset which made it hard for her to breathe.
She sighed boredly deciding she had had enough of watching the rain droplets race down the glass and she made her way to the desk and began to sketch to get her mind off her loneliness.
After a few minutes she couldn't take it anymore.

She threw her pen down and ink splattered on the floor from the quill and she sobbed in her hands before she got up and wiped her tears away.
She made her way to the balcony and opened the doors as lightning flashed and thunder roared and she took a deep breath in and climbed over the balcony, heart rate spiking and racing immensely as the thunder bellowed through the sky and lightning appeared cracking like a bright whip in the dark gray sky.
She held onto the water covered rocks praying for her life and that she wouldn't slip.
The rain grew heavier and her fingers slipped and she jumped to the ground which luckily was no longer far away and her foot touched the muddy ground and she slipped and she got back up, really prioritizing her safety over her cleanliness as a sane person probably should do.
She may have been a little girly sometimes but she didn't freak out at the sight of mud and letting herself stay a prisoner because she didn't want to get her hands dirty was pathetic in her eyes.
She felt the cold winter's wind whip against her skin as she made her way through the forest scared and afraid as thunder banged and the wind howled like the wolves and suddenly her blood went cold as she heard howls of wolves mix in with those of the wind. Howls as in actual wolves.
Her feet moved faster as panic overtook her and she tripped over her dress and she got up and it was caught much to her luck and she heard the howls getting louder and closer.
She tugged at the skirt and it ripped so the dress now ended above her knees and finally something was going for her, she knew it would be much easier running without the long skirt tripping her.
She continued her run and a scream left her lips as the lighting flashed and like a horror movie a silhouette flashed before her, a wolf. A large menacing wolf.
It lept down in front of her snarling and she stumbled back terrified.
Her foot tripped on a root and she fell down and scraped her arm on a rock earning yet another injury in addition to the multiple ones she had already obtained on her little escape or road to a young and early death.
The wolf approached the girl as she sat against a rock immobilized and frozen in her terrified state.

He leaned into her and she squeezed her eyes shut as she braced for death however it never came as a wolf lept over her and pounced on her attacker knocking it to the growl.
She attempted to get up make a run for it but she couldn't, her ankle hurt like anything and in the low light she could see it was already swollen and black and blue.
The two wolves circled each other snarling viciously before they attacked each other fighting possessively over her for food something which didn't in the least excite the poor girl.
She couldn't make out any distinct features which separated the wolves as all she could see was their silhouettes as their shadows fell on her.
They were vicious animals as they attacked each other and one seemed to take the most blows and it made the mistake of missing and the other wolf exploited the miss as it was open at that second and threw the other wolf to the ground and Sara screamed as she head a snap and the wolf went limp and lifeless.
The other wolf approached her running up to her and she braced herself for its... tongue?
She felt it licking her and she squirmed uncomfortable as it licked her wounds and it's nose pressed against her.
She didn't understand why the wolf was acting like a puppy with her. It was scary, oversized, had been clawed and covered in the other wolf's blood with it's canines covered in the crimson liquid and it was trying to lick her and cuddle her or whatever.
Was the wolf seriously as bipolar as that 'king' who had kept her prisoner for an entire two weeks.
"Um I think that's enough Fluffy- I mean um-" she said trying to get a name realising 'Fluffy' would not be a fitting name.
The wolf simply snuggled into her almost purring as it did.
"A-are you okay with Fluffy? O-or would you like Midnight or Silver or-"
The wolf shook it's head at the names.
"C-can I call you Fluffy then?"
It nodded as it continued to lick and rub it's body against the terrifed human girl who was so terrified that her thoughts were incoherent and mumbled up.
She hesitated before stroking 'Fluffy' the wolf who instinctively purred in satisfaction at her touch.
"Thanks for saving me Fluffy. I would have died if it wasn't for you. See two weeks ago this very strange guy kidnapped me and he's so cruel and heartless. He hasn't talked to me since he choked me and I passed out two weeks ago. Now I'm lost and aside from you I'm alone although I've been alone for two weeks. The maids don't say anything when I try talk to them and they are the only ones I see. Fluffy I'm only seventeen I'm supposed to be at home with my parents and going to school, not wondering why I am trapped in a castle where everything runs like it is the middle ages or even the dark ages. You must think I'm crazy talking to a wolf like it's a person," Sara said.
Fluffy shook his head.
"Well I must say you are easier to talk to than anyone else. The 'king' there wouldn't even listen to me when I tried to tell him I wanted to go home, practically telling me I am wrong to want to go home to a loving family, the maids are silent workaholics and even the imaginary friend I was desperate enough to make wouldn't talk to me. Fluffy you don't think I'm annoying do you?" She asked with tears in her eyes and he whined umhappily and shook his head.
"Glad someone thinks so," she sighed.
She suddenly saw that Fluffy was gone, disappeared.
"There you are. I have been searching for you after the maids told me you had 'disappeared'," she heard a male voice and turned to see the king.
She scrambled to her feet and took a step forward with the aim of running biting through the pain however the pain was too much for her and she fell down on the ground pitifully before the king.
She felt warmth wrap around her and she leaned closer to it, shivering as wind brushed over her soaked and muddy figure with her dress clinging to her body.
"Come now let us return to the castle. You need to be dried off and bathed and dressed in dry clothes before you get sick," the king said cradling her in his arms and she silently let him turn around and take her, knowing she was too weak and in pain to put up a fight and even if she were to she wouldn't get anywhere in her state. She had no choice but to let him take her.
