《You Saw Right Through Me》First Mission

It was the next week and Maki and Tenko had already gone on their mission. It was about 11:30am, and Kirumi was already in the kitchen making lunch.
"I'm going to Kazuichi's room." Miu hopped out of bed and as she was walking through the doorway, "Don't get laid while you're there." "SHUT UP YOU LITTLE ABORTION!" Kokichi giggled and continued reading. Shuichi looked down at his bunk buddy. "You're still on that book?" Kokichi nodded.
Rantaro leaned on the railing of the top bunk. "You know, I could've sworn we didn't fall asleep in our bed last night." Kiibo leaned on the wall. "I'm sure we were so tired that we don't remember. Although, I do remember powering down while I was next to Miu."
Kokichi stared at the scrap piece of paper he found between the pages of the book. It had a small star on the corner, just like all the letters they all received from you. "It is weird..." He remembered his dream last night, where you were moving his hair out of his face and he said he loved you... but that was just a dream.
"Maybe someone walked in and found us sleeping around Shuichi and Kokichi's bed." Kaede guessed. Himiko sighed as she continued to lie in bed. "I'm just glad that I didn't have to wake up with back pain or something."
Kokichi sighed and got out of bed. "I'm going to roam around. I might come back with a few things, so clear your stuff." Kokichi left the room and went upstairs. He went to the dining room and sat on one of the chairs.
"Are you hungry?"
He looked up and met eyes with Nagito, who he had met not too long ago. "Oh yeah, but this food is too low grade for me." Nagito smiled and leaned on the wall. "So... Ultimate Supreme Leader, huh? Not the weirdest Ultimate I've come across."
Kokichi rested his head on his hand. "What's with you?" Nagito made this obnoxious laugh and looked at Kokichi. "You think I wouldn't notice? You seem like Hajime when the orange juice runs out." Kokichi's lips straightened as he lifted his head. "Orange juice...?"
"That's unimportant." Nagito sat across from Kokichi. "Overall, I do notice that you always have that ring on. Are you engaged?" Kokichi banged his forehead on the table. "I'm not engaged, or married, or anything!" Nagito nodded. "Thought so, just wondering."
Kokichi looked at Nagito. "Hey... would you know of any safe way of bringing someone back to life?" Nagito shook his head. "Trust me, if I knew a way, I would've done it. Why?" Kokichi looked down at his ring. "Well.. a... friend of mine did something like that. But that cost them their life."
Nagito looked down at the ring. "Would that 'friend' be the one that gave you the ring?" Kokichi nodded as Nagito chuckled. "Those of us that participated in the Jabberwock Island 'killing game' had a friend like that. Always looking out for others with no concern for themselves."
You stood on the table with Chiaki hovering next to you. "Is he talking about you?" Chiaki nodded. "I think so..."
Kokichi rested his head on his arms as he remembered the last time he saw you smile. His hand travelled to his scarf as he thought back to the first day of the killing game.

~Flashback~
"Wait!" Y/N blocked some bullet with their arm, making blood drip down it. Kokichi walked up to them and took off his scarf. "Look, I know I said your reflexes are great, but don't use them like this." He wrapped his scarf around their wound and patted it. "There! Now we don't have to carry you if you passed out from blood loss!"
~End Flashback~
"Hello..." Kokichi looked up and saw Nagito waving his hand in front of his face. "There you are. What were you thinking about?" Kokichi shook his head. "How to kill you." Nagito chuckled. "I'm sure you were."
Hajime popped his head in the room. "Nagito, I need you for a second." Nagito hummed and got up. "Coming Hajime! See you, Kokichi." Kokichi watched as Nagito followed Hajime to a different room.
When Kokichi got back to the room they all shared, Maki and Tenko had already returned. "So, Maki Roll. How was it?" She took off her cloak that Kirumi had made for her and hung it on the frame of her and Kaito's bunk bed. "It was fine."
Tenko jumped up. "It was kind of exciting! Getting to slam degenerates to the ground and drag them to a helicopter." Shuichi moved away from her. "Are the 'converted' people moved to a different facility or something? I don't seem to see anyone else."
Kokichi sat down on his bed next to Shuichi. "I dunno, maybe they're trapped somewhere for brutal interrogation." "Kokichi!" Kokichi giggled and lied down. "Next week, Ryoma, me and some other people are going on a mission, too."
"I'm going with you!" Kaito yelled. "Yeah, that's why I said other people." Kaito growled in aggravation as him and Kokichi bickered.
~Time Skip~
It was the next week and Kokichi, Kaito, Ryoma, Fuyuhiko, and Peko were all in a meeting with Makoto. "Be sure not to hurt any of them too badly. If worst comes to worst, follow Fuyuhiko's lead. Got that?" Everyone nodded and were dismissed.
"Alright, we have these communicators when we need help. But we aren't going to be splitting up to much. We'll all have someone else with us. Got that?" Everyone nodded and Fuyuhiko looked at Peko. "Peko, you're staying with me. You three are going to stay together."
They split up and went to separate parts of the city, where Makoto told them there were people. "Whoa..." Kokichi looked down from the roof of a building as Kaito and Ryoma scanned the ground. He looked to the left and saw two exisals walking towards them. "Guys, two coming your way!" Kaito and Ryoma looked up at the roof and nodded.
Kokichi heard a door swing open behind him and three people with Monokuma masks cam on the roof. "You're... not Junko's.. follower." Kokichi gritted his teeth as he moved out of the way, just avoiding one of the people.
Are they.. trying to capture me?
Kokichi grabbed one of the wrists and locked it behind their back. Then he hit them on the back of the head, making the Monokuma mask fall off and they fell unconscious.
Another one of the Monokuma masked people lunged at Kokichi, only for him to move out of the way and push them against the wall. As they struggled against his grip, he straightened his hand and chopped at their neck, making them fall unconscious as well.

"Kokichi, are you alright up here?" Kaito questioned once he burst through the door. "Ryoma told me to come up here to check on you."
Kaito's eyes widened once he saw Kokichi struggling with a person in a Monokuma mask. They were at the edge of the roof, with Kokichi trying not to fall off. Then,
"Agh!"
Kokichi ankles were kicked and he lost balance, making him fall off the roof. Kaito quickly ran and grabbed Kokichi's hand, but something happened at the worst time. "Ngh!" Kaito winced as his grip on Kokichi's fingers loosened.
~Flashback~
Y/N followed Kaito to the roof of the building, where he sat at the edge. Their eyes widened and they quickly ran towards him, grabbing his collar as his grip on the edge of the building loosened.
~End Flashback~
The person in the Monokuma mask walked up next to Kaito and kicked his side, making him lose grip on Kokichi. "No!" As Kaito looked over the edge of the building, he noticed Kokichi was unconscious and couldn't yell to Ryoma for help. "Dammit.. you little-" Kaito kicked the person in the Monokuma mask and punched them in the face - hard.
"Kokichi!" "Y/N, wait!" You made yourself physical and kicked off one of the exisals. Chiaki's eyes widened as you caught Kokichi and landed on the ground. "Kokichi..." You gently patted his cheek. "Y/N, bring him to this alleyway so no one will notice."
You put him down on a small patch of dead grass growing in the alleyway and checked his pulse. "He's fine... probably fainted from shock." Chiaki knelt down next to you. "How did... you catch him?" You glanced at her. "What do you mean?"
"I.. sure can't do that. I can't touch anyone without completely going through them." Your eyes widened a bit. "You can't?" She shook her head. You looked back at Kokichi and put your hand on the grass. Slowly, but unknowingly, the grass under your palm began turning green again.
Chiaki stood up as your hand moved from the grass. Her eyes widened a bit, but she didn't address it. "Come on, it looks like he's about to wake up." You nodded and followed her.
Kaito ran down the stairs and outside. "Ryoma! Did you see Kokichi?" Ryoma shook his head. "No... did he run down?" Kaito shook his head as he frantically looked around. "He fell off the roof."
Ryoma threw up a tennis ball and hit it to the last standing exisal, making it fall to the ground. He looked around and saw a flash of purple in an alleyway. "Over there!" Him and Kaito ran towards the alleyway and saw Kokichi lying there peacefully.
"It almost looks like he didn't fall at all... just fell asleep." Ryoma knelt down and his eyes widened a bit. "What's this?" There was a patch of grass, fully healthy. It was like someone was taking care of that one patch of grass.
"Mmmh..." Kokichi's eyes flickered opened and he slowly sat up. "What... happened? Am I dead?" Kaito shook his head. "Surprisingly... no. What even happened?" Kokichi shrugged. Kaito stood up and held his hand out. "Come on. A helicopter already picked up the three people on the roof. We should head back, too." Kokichi nodded and was helped up.
When they returned, Shuichi and Rantaro ran up to the door. "We heard what happened from Kaito. Are you alright?" Kokichi nodded and was led to the med bay to see if there was anything wrong.
"Is there anything wrong?" Fuyuhiko asked when he walked in. Mikan shook her head. "H-he just said s-someone pushed him off the roof. B-but he doesn't kn-know how to got t-to the alleyway." Fuyuhiko tilted his head, but left anyways.
Mikan told Kokichi that he could leave, but instead of going to the room, he went to the training room. He sat down on a bench and looked up at the ceiling. "How did.. I get there?"
You sighed as Kokichi dozed off again. "He barely gets any sleep anymore." You muttered as you lowered down to the ground. Chiaki hovered next to you. "You seem depressed. Do you wanna go to the dining room?" You nodded and looked at Kokichi one more time before leaving. But instead of leaving through the wall...
"Ow!"
You held your forehead as Chiaki poked her head through the wall. "Y/N?" You tried going through the wall once more, just to bump into again. Chiaki took your hands and tried to pull you through, only for you to stop the moment your hands touched the wall.
You took a deep breath and slowly walked through, finally getting through. "That's... never happened before." Chiaki put her finger on her chin. "That's never happened to me before either..."
Unknown by you and Chiaki, Kokichi was awake and was watching the wall you bumped into. He heard the thump, and thought it was his imagination at first, but then he heard it again. "What is that?" He was eying the wall, but decided to brush it off.
He went to the dining room and saw Nagito, Makoto, Hajime, and Shuichi sitting there, chatting. "Hey Kokichi." Nagito greeted as Kokichi sat down. "Have any of you.. had some weird occurrence happen to you?" Shuichi looked over. "Weird how?" "Like, thuds from the walls, appearing in places without remembering how, plants suddenly becoming green again."
Shuichi sighed. "Yeah... kind of. When I was looking for a book in our library, the very book I was looking for fell from the shelf." Makoto nodded. "Me too. The plant in your room was close to dying, so I was going to throw it out once you guys moved in... but when I got there it was healthy and green."
Nagito put his hand on his chin. "And all this started when?"
"After we got out of the End Wall."
"Nuh-uh, before that."
"Oh yeah, the trial."
Kokichi reached into his pocket and pulled out the small paper star. "It's kinda weird though... since I wasn't really scared." Shuichi nodded and stood up. "Anyways, Kyoko asked me to meet her in her office, so I'll go now." Everyone nodded as Shuichi walked off.
"I'll go, too." Kokichi got up and went back to the room. At the time, no one was there, so he just sat on his bed and opened the familiar book. The scrap of paper he used as a bookmark slipped out, and there was another star on it. He traced his finger over the star and leaned on the wall.
"Will you ever.. come back?"

Hugh Johnson and the Seven Evil Alts
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Hugh Johnson was having a bad day. First there was the stupid long line to get into Comiket, then Truck-kun smashed him into paste, a lolii-goddess who punched him into another world, and finally, a wolf that decided to snack on him. And that was just the last 15 minutes. Now he needs to save Eternasy from the Seven Evil Alternate characters he created while playing Endless Fantasy before they destroy the world. Who knew that your actions in a game would have real-world consequences? Join Hugh as he takes on his first Evil Alt and journeys to the Lair of Daemon Wyrm. Hugh Johnson and the Seven Evil Alts will contain tropes familiar to readers of Japanese isekai light novels - a humorous progression fantasy with slice of life scenes, cute girls, burley men, dungeons, magic, and mayhem. Be warned that the MC is not a clueless weeb who has no idea how women or the world works. Expect this to read like hot garbage, and you will not be disappointed. I never expected to toss it into the Writeathon, but I have poor impulse control, so here we are.
