《You Saw Right Through Me》Your Backstory

You had finally graduated and were choosing a high school in the park when your childhood friend, Rantaro Amami, came behind you. "Boo!" He gripped your shoulders. "Hey Rantaro." He let go and sat beside you. "You never get scared anymore!"

You chuckled and shut your laptop. "Well, I don't see what's scary about a living avocado man." He pouted as you put your laptop in your backpack. "Come on, you said we'd study at your house this time." He nodded and followed you, who already knew where he lived.

You and Rantaro studied together, until you got a notification on your phone. "What's that?" Rantaro asked once you picked it up. "Ugh, it's just some douche, don't worry about it." You assured, tossing your phone on Rantaro's bed. Rantaro nodded and looked back at his textbooks. You glanced at your phone, then back at your textbook.

I'm watching you

You waved to Rantaro's parents and he walked you home. "Are you okay?" He asked.

You smiled and nodded as he escorted you to your house. "See ya tomorrow, Rantaro!" You said as he left. The maid took your bag and another maid took your jacket.

"Father, I'm home." You announced. You went to your father's office, only to see him working. You shut the door and kissed your finger, placing it on a picture of your mom, who had passed a few years back. You sighed and asked one of the maids to make you dinner. She nodded and you went to your bedroom. You turned on your phone and texted Rantaro.

Hey, are you back home yet?

Ya

Okay, good to know.

Do u rlly need 2 put proper punctuation and grammar in ur texts

It's just a habit

Anyways, imma take a shower, cya

See ya

You lied down in bed, but seconds later, you heard a knock at your door. "Young Master, would you like me to draw a bath for you?" You looked up at your personal maid.

"N-no thank you, I'll just take a shower." She nodded and left your bedroom. After you took a shower, you saw that you had another notification.

Watch your back

You deleted the message and shut off your phone. "It's nothing." You kept telling yourself as you went to sleep. Over the summer break, you kept getting messages like these, making you constantly block different social media accounts.

You tried to inform your father about it, but he assured you that it was simply a delinquent trying to mess with you. Rantaro, however, thought that you should probably never walk home alone.

Finally, the summer ended, and you and Rantaro got accepted into the same high school. "Dang, this was a hard school to get into!" He complained. You shook your head. "Nah, you're just dumb." He pouted as you looked around, seeing each student enrolled here.

However, your eyes stopped on a purple haired boy sitting on a bench. He seemed to be really invested in his book.. but then you realized he really wasn't.

"Oi, grape face!" A boy with magenta hair came and threw his school bag on the purple haired boy. There was also a blonde girl who was following him.

"O-oh... hey Kaito." He mumbled. He shut his book and lifted the boy's, who you assumed was Kaito, bag. Kaito walked into the school, hands behind his head and smirking.

"Hey, do you need some help with that?" You asked the purple haired boy. He nodded and you picked up his book.

"Hey, who's this?" Rantaro asked, leaning down next to you. You looked at the book the boy had, which had his name on it. "Kokichi Ouma?" He nodded.

You gave him his book. "Wanna have lunch together, later? It looks like we're both first years." He nodded again. You and Rantaro looked at each other, then smiled. "Alright, see you there!" You pressed your lips together as you watched Kokichi run after Kaito into the school, both his and Kaito's bags in his hands.

You had three classes before lunchtime: geology, math, and science. All of which, Kokichi was in. But Kaito was in them too, teasing Kokichi when the teacher wasn't looking.

At lunchtime, you found a table with four seats. You heard footsteps coming towards the table and saw Kokichi, with a tray... and porridge. "You know, there's way better food over there." Rantaro stated. Kokichi nodded. "I-I know.. but I can't afford it."

You and Rantaro looked at each other. "Hold on." You searched through your school bag and found your wallet. "Here, you won't be able to get the nutrients you need with porridge." Kokichi stared at your wallet.

"Go on, take it. No questions asked. I really insist." Kokichi reluctantly took your wallet. "If you're shy, I'll go with you!" He smiled and nodded and you went with him to the lunch area.

You went back to your table, and continued eating. You heard a notification from someone's phone, but not yours. "A-ah, sorry... that was mine." Kokichi looked into his school bag and pulled his phone... which was a flip phone. "U-um... is that your permanent phone?" Kokichi nodded.

"Ooh! You like Danganronpa, too?" Rantaro asked when he noticed the Monokuma accessory attached to Kokichi's phone. "Y-yeah! I like watching it... but sometimes, my parents won't let me."

Rantaro and Kokichi began their conversation about Danganronpa, while you opened a book to read.

A lot of your friends liked Danganronpa, but you weren't too fond of it. Something about killing people, then getting executed, while being trapped somewhere, and you can't remember why you're trapped there doesn't settle well with you.

You heard the bell ring and packed up your stuff. The next subject was gym, where you met a green haired boy, who was about two times bigger than you.

He was a bit scary looking, but he seemed to be fond of butterflies. And, just your luck, you got paired with him to race the 200 metre dash.

"Be careful, Y/N. He always tops the class in gym." Kokichi warned. You nodded and went to the starting line. You heard the whistle and sprinted down the track, where you passed the finish line mere seconds before the green haired boy. He panted and you threw him a bottle.

"Wow, first time someone could actually match me." He admitted.

You smiled. "I have a gym at home, and a personal trainer, so I guess I had an advantage at the moment." The boy's eyes lit up. "That's so cool!" You smiled. "By the way, I'm Y/N L/N." He shook your outstretched hand. "I'm Gonta Gokuhara!" You giggled and invited him for lunch the next day.

The gym teacher told you to get into pairs for tennis, which is when you met Ryoma. To be honest, he wasn't too good at tennis. The tennis ball whipped at you, and you caught it for the sixth time. "Hold on, let me help you."

You walked up to him and positioned his hand on the racket. "Don't hold it like you're in baseball, but make sure that you have a firm grip on the racket. And you don't have to hit with all your might, alright?"

You moved back to your spot and served the tennis ball, and he actually managed to hit it. "Good job! Although, I truly think you could kill a mafia with that whip of yours." He chuckled. "You're a lively one." You giggled.

The next class was art, and you were paired up with a girl with white hair, and you both tried to make a portrait of each other.

"Dammit, I can't get this right!" She complained. You asked her to show you her sketchbook, and you showed her some dimensions.

"The human eye is normally about an eye apart. The inner corner of my eyes line up with the corners of my mouth. And you don't need to make my face perfectly symmetrical."

The girl sketched your face again and showed it to you, making you quietly clap. "Good job... uh..." "Angie. Angie Yonaga." You smiled. "My name's Y/N L/N. It's nice to meet you!"

Finally, you went to chemistry class. While you were making your substance, you looked to your left and noticed the boy next to you was about to put sulfuric acid into his substance.

You covered his container with your hand, gaining his attention. "I don't know if we're on the same page, but I don't think you wanna make nitroglycerin in a classroom." He nodded and put down the bottle. "S-sorry, I was just lost in thought."

You waved your hands. "It's no problem..." "Shuichi Saihara." "Shuichi! Everyone has off days."

You arrived back home and collapsed onto your bed. "Ugh..." You suddenly got many notifications on your phone.

You turned it on, and saw that you were followed by the people you met today. Rantaro told you that he told them about your social media after school. "Ah, that makes sense." You said.

"You sure do make friends easily." He admitted. "Easier than me, at least." You nodded and looked through all the notifications. "From the fact that he has a flip phone, I don't think Kokichi would have social media." You assumed.

Rantaro turned on his phone. "Yeah, that really sucks." Standing up from your bed, you went downstairs to your father's office. "Hey, father. May I ask for a favour?" He nodded. "May I please get an iphone? Even if it's an old one. It's for a friend of mine."

"Well, you can't be giving half-baked gifts, can you? I'll get the newest version." You smiled and bowed. "Thank you." You went back to your room, where Rantaro was waiting.

"You're still getting those sketchy messages, huh?" You looked at your phone and groaned. "I've blocked like, eight different accounts already!"

It was music, and you were figuring out what instrument to play when you heard someone humming. But, it straight up sounded like autotune. You turned around and saw a boy with a hat and abnormally pale skin. He seemed like he was the one humming the song, seeing as he was swaying his head. You happened to know the song and began quietly humming out of instinct.

"U-uh..." You covered your mouth. "S-sorry, that was by instinct, I didn't mean to-" "No, no, it's fine." He assured. You chuckled, awkwardly. "It seems like you have some natural autotune." He nodded.

"I do, actually... my vocal chords are artificial." Your eyes lit up. "Really?! That's incredible!" He smiled. "I-I'm Kiibo." You nodded, grinning. "I'm Y/N L/N... Do you think you could sing like that one more time?"

In history, you had to share your textbook with a guy with really long hair. "Why do you wear a mask?" You asked him when you were dismissed to go to the next class. He was silent. "Are you germaphobic?"

He shook his head. "Are you sick?" He shook his head.

"Is someone you know sick and you visit them everyday and you don't wanna catch it but you also want to keep visiting them, and you also don't wanna take other people's illnesses and bring it to them?" The boy looked at you.

With a tilted head, you asked if you were right. "I-I mean you are.. but it was very specific." You giggled. "It was just a hunch!" You skipped away. "I'm Y/N L/N by the way!" He waved, hesitantly. "Korekiyo... Shinguji..." He felt an arm around his shoulders. "Here's their social media." Rantaro whispered, and then walked away with a strange wavy arm movement. Korekiyo stared at the boy, who bumped into a locker instead of turning left.

Next was drama, and you were grouped with Tenko Chabashira, Himiko Yumeno, and Kirumi Tojo.

"Ah... so we have to act out Magician's Journey." Kirumi stated. "I'm just glad I didn't have to be paired with a boy..." Tenko said.

Tilting your head, you read the script. "I don't think this is something we can only get done in class. Why don't we exchange social media?" And that's how you got three girl's social media without Rantaro doing something weird.

In health class, the teacher was teaching you how to bandage a sprained ankle. The girl in front of you was trying to bandage your ankle, but was having trouble. "Here."

You knelt down and guided her hands, making her cheeks almost match her red eyes, purely out of embarrassment. "Just do it tight enough so they can't bend it too much, but not so tight that it blocks their bloodstream." You explained.

Once it was done, the girl bowed. "Sorry for being an inconvenience!" You shook your head. "Not at all... er..." "Maki! M-my name's Maki Harukawa!" You smiled. "That's a nice name."

As you were walking to the cafeteria, you saw that Kaito was bullying Kokichi again. "Hey Kokichi!" You greeted. Kokichi and Kaito turned to you and Rantaro. Kaito, who was gripping Kokichi by the front of his uniform, scoffed and put down the boy.

"Th-thank you." Kokichi stuttered as he ran up to you.

You giggled and assured him that it was no trouble. As you, Rantaro, and Kokichi walked in, your eyes widened when you heard your name called from one of the tables.

"Oh, Gonta!" You smiled and ran over, Rantaro and Kokichi following. "Whoa... that's a lot of people." Rantaro pointed out. Everyone that you had met over the past two days were sitting at the table.

You handed Kokichi ten dollars and sat at the table. "Who's that?" Maki asked, pointing at Kokichi, who was nervously waiting in the lunch line. "He's a friend of mine." You answered. Kokichi came back and you patted the area next to you.

"Hey, aren't you the guy I always see with Kaito?" Himiko asked. Kokichi nodded and looked in his lap. You leaned closer to his ear and whispered. "Eye contact shows confidence, you know?"

He looked at you and you gave him an encouraging smile. "Anyways, I assume Rantaro gave you my social media?" All eyes turned to the green haired boy. "Y/N!" He whined.

You laughed and everyone began to have a conversation.

You noticed a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes sitting by herself with a book and her lunch. "Who's that?" You asked. "Oh, that's Miu Iruma. She's always alone." Tenko said. You stood up and walked towards the girl.

"Hey there." You greeted, startling her. "H-hey." She answered, her eyes still glued to her book. "You're Miu, right?" She looked up at you. "U-um, yes. And you are?" With an outstretched hand, you introduced yourself. "You wanna come eat with us?" Miu looked over at the table you had just come from. "S-sure."

The last class was science, where you saw Kaito and the blonde girl from the day before poking at Kokichi. You sighed and continued to look at the board.

After school, you approached the girl with blonde hair. "Hello there." She turned around and scoffed. "Oh, you're the little crap that keeps hanging out with the grape face."

You crossed your arms. "You know..." You took a deep breath and smiled. "You know, bullying doesn't really look good on you. Why don't we find something better?" She tilted her head. You pulled out your phone.

"By the way, what's your name?" Confused, she introduced herself as Kaede Akamatsu.

You took her by the hand and pulled her to the nearest mall. "H-hey, what are you-" "This store, right here!" You pulled her into one of the clothing stores. "If you have a favourite colour, would you mind telling me what it is?" Kaede looked at you, confused.

You noticed her eyes shift from you to a skirt hanging on the wall and you turned and looked at the price tag. "W-wait, isn't this place like, super expensive?"

You nodded and held the skirt in front of Kaede.

After a while, you finally went to the counter to pay. "What was the point of that?" Kaede asked as you and her walked out of the store.

"Say, wanna have lunch with us tomorrow?" You asked, completely dodging the question.

Kaede tilted her head at the sudden question. She looked in the shopping bag for the receipt, but when she read it, "What the- This cost over a thousand dollars!"

You giggled and pulled out your phone. "Don't worry. It's fine." A car pulled up in front of the mall. "Kyle, can you please take Miss Akamatsu to her home?" The driver nodded and the car door opened automatically.

"A-are you trying to flex your money or something?" Kaede accused. You shook your head. "Would you rather walk home?" Kaede shut her mouth.

"Fine, I'll take your stupid car, but you have to come with me." You nodded and sat in the back seat with her. You looked out the window. "By the way, you should probably delete this photo before someone other than me decides to go to your home address."

You held up your phone that had a picture from Kaede's social media one it.

It was her in front of her house, and in the back it said her house number, while on her mailbox it said the full home address. Kaede pulled out her phone in panic and deleted the photo. "Y-you creep!" You shook your head and leaned back. "I was simply looking out for you." The car pulled up to Kaede's house. The door opened and Kaede got out.

"A-about lunch... fine. But only for tomorrow." You gave her a thumbs up as she walked into her house.
