《You Saw Right Through Me》Virtual World

I woke up the next morning and looked around. "Oh yeah, I slept in the library." I stood up and something fell off of me. I looked down and saw a blanket and a pillow where I was lying down.
"Wait, who..." I shook my head. No need to think of that now. I went upstairs to the dining hall, and was about to tell everyone about Kokichi, but something stopped me. I didn't want to tell them. Not yet. Not until I knew more about what he's up to.
I looked around the room and counted everyone. "Where's Miu?" I asked. Himiko thought she was upstairs, tinkering with the computer Shuichi and I found. "Maybe she's inventing something in her lab. She had a lot of unfinished inventions when I went there for maintenance." I nodded and sat next to Gonta, who had a distressed expression painted on his face. "What's wrong?"
"Gonta want to be useful. But Gonta not know how."
Kaito assured him that we're all thinking the same thing and said that we should just focus on what's happening now: breakfast. I ate the burnt rock called "eggs" and went up to my room. Not long after I closed the door, however, someone rang my intercom.
"M-Miu?" Once I opened the door, the inventor was there, waiting.
"Hey, I've figured out a way to get us outta here." She claimed. "I know how the computer works now, so meet me there."
I nodded as she left, probably to tell everyone else. I changed my sweater that had burnt crumbs all over it, and went to the fourth floor of the academy, where the computer was. There, I saw Himiko and Shuichi waiting. "Ah, so she told you to meet up here, too?"
They both nodded, but Himiko had a sad look on her face.
"What's wrong?" She looked up at me. "I just remembered how Tenko would take my hand and drag me along to things like this." I looked down. I imagined Tenko bringing Himiko, saying "I'll protect you!" like she always does.
"Well, I'm going to follow in her footsteps and move forward!" Himiko said, with full determination.
And with that, we went inside and saw everyone waiting there. "So how exactly are we going to escape?" Maki asked. "Well, we're going to another world! One with no killing game, and no Monokuma!"
Another world?
Monotaro did say that was one of the computer's special properties. "So get on your knees and beg for me to tell you!"
"Shouldn't you be getting on your knees?" Kokichi asked. "You are the one that told us to go all the way over here, so shouldn't you beg us to listen?" I gently slapped Kokichi in the back of the head.
"You can't tell people to-" "But I stayed up all night to get this figured out... Don't you think it's a little weird for me to get down on my knees?"
"Alright, let's go." Kokichi said. But suddenly, Miu shouted out. "W-wait!" She slowly got to the ground... on her knees. "Please... I wanna talk about it."
I took her hands and pulled her up. "Miu, you didn't need to do that, you know? We would've listened to you anyways." She smiled a bit but went back to being embarrassed.
"Why the depressed face? Just tell us already!" Kokichi demanded. "U-uh... yes sir!" It's weird hearing Miu say that. "Well, when I said another world, I was talking about this computer. There's a device connected to the computer that you put on your head. It uploads your consciousness so you can go to a world created by a computer program." I walked up to the computer while everyone spoke about this "new world."

Would it be our new reality... until we die in the real one? "Well, I didn't even make this virtual world!" Miu said. "Someone else did." Oh no... Just then, Monokuma appeared before us. "That's right! It was me!" The Monokubs also appeared. "Wow Daddy, you can really do anything!" Monophanie said. Monotaro seemed confused on which one was his "daddy." He turned to Kiibo. "You! You're my daddy!" He said. I stood in front of Kiibo. "Wrong again."
"Allow me to explain." Monokuma began. "The virtual world is a killing game simulator." And that's where I know that I'm not going in there. "Well, now I know that I'm not going in there!" Tsumugi said.
"But I deleted everything dangerous from it last night!" Miu claimed. I get she's the Ultimate Inventor, but someone invented poisonous paint and everyone thought it was a good idea. "Miu, I think we should find a different way..."
"But if Miu deleted everything dangerous, doesn't that mean that she took away anything we could use to kill?" Kokichi asked.
"Sounds like something a Mommy would do!" Monotaro said. I guess he's really stuck on Kiibo being his dad and Miu being his mom. What's happening? "What is this feeling in my chest? Is this what it's like to be a mommy?"
"Wait, Miu no."
Monokuma explained that there was a hint to the outside world in this virtual reality, so we all reluctantly went in. Miu explained how each of the helmets worked as we all sat down in the chairs Kokichi had helped Miu bring up. "Put the red consciousness chord in the right hole, and the blue in the left."
"Right hand is the hand you hold chopsticks with." Himiko recited.
We put the helmet on our heads and pressed the switch on our temple to activate it.
In an instant, we were standing in another world. "Whoa..." I said, looking at myself. It did resemble me a bit, but it had the same graphics as the coding project I did in middle school: crappy.
I looked around and saw who I thought was Shuichi, Kaito, Tsumugi, Himiko, Maki, and Kiibo. "Wow, I can move this body like it was my own. Then, I don't have to worry about that stuff." Kaito said.
"What stuff?" I looked at Shuichi. "Uh... don't worry about it."
Soon enough, Kokichi and Gonta appeared as well. "I see, so this is the virtual world." Kokichi said as he moved his fingers. "And this is my avatar." He punched Kiibo in the face, and surprisingly, Kiibo felt it. "Ow! What was that for?"
As Miu explained why Kiibo could feel pain, I looked around the room. It looked a bit like an old-fashioned mansion. Even complete with an old phone.
"We need to know more about this world." Kiibo said. "Do you have a map or something?"
Miu nodded. "I do, but there's something you need to know about this world. Objects here are unbreakable." A question mark appeared above Shuichi's head. I guess this really is a virtual world, huh? "There's no code saying whether something can be broken, so nothing is breakable." Miu explained. "Just like with our avatars. You can feel pain, but you won't get injured." I see. So it's all in the code.
I noticed how everyone was the same width and height. "Is anything else different?"
"We all have the same physical strength as well." This seemed to make Gonta panic. "But if Gonta weaker, he can no protect everyone!" I put my hands on his virtual cheeks since I could reach them now. "Don't worry about it, Gonta."

Miu explained that the old phone in the room was the only way to get out. "Just pick it up and say your name."
Miu led us to the map outside of the room. We looked at the small one first. The title said Mansion-1F, so I assume there's others. There was a bathroom, dining hall, kitchen, salon, stairs to the rooftop, and the main hall, where we were.
The big map had the whole virtual world. "Make sure to memorise this map and remember everything!" Miu ordered. "Just so you know, the other building is a chapel, but it looks more like the storage room when you go inside."
Maybe something's hidden there.
"What's the black line?" Kokichi asked. "Oh yeah, that's a huge wall surrounding the virtual world." What is with Monokuma and walls? "It's not like it's trapping us though. Passing that wall is the end of the world, literally. There's nothing there." The end of the world?
I was thinking when suddenly, I was grabbed by a small hand. "Let's go find the secret about the outside world, Y/N!" Kokichi said. "Wait, like heck I'm gonna let you be alone with Y/N!" Kaito yelled.
Gonta walked up. "Gonta may not be stronger in virtual world, but he can watch Kokichi so he no do something bad!" I nodded. "Fine, but Y/N stays with us!" He pulled me back as Kokichi and Gonta left.
We went up to the rooftop and I saw a question mark appear above Shuichi's head again. "Snow?" The rest of us walked outside and Kaito ran around like a small child.
"Whoa! It's snow! Maki Roll, look it's snow!" Maki scoffed. "Are you a dog or something?" Tsumugi shivered. "Our avatars can feel cold, too?" I took off my coat and put it around her. "Seems like it."
Shuichi walked up to the binoculars while I looked around the rooftop with everyone else. I found a storage room and pushed open the doors. It seemed quite empty inside, but then I remember.
"But I deleted everything dangerous from it last night!"
Miu probably deleted everything that was supposed to be in here, even something like a rake. As long as it could be used to murder someone. All that was on the shelves were some lattice, an empty box, and a rolled up carpet.
"Did you find anything?" Kiibo asked. I shook my head. "Nothing of use anyway." We went outside of the mansion and went towards the river. "How are we going to get across?" Himiko asked. "There's a sign that says Mirai Hills that can be used as a makeshift bridge. I think the biggest masochist here should get it!" Miu looked at Shuichi. "You! Go get the sign, and crawl like a dog while you're at it!"
I shook my head. "You don't need to do that Shuichi. It's just a friendly request."
He nodded and went to get the sign. "What makes you think he's a masochist?"
Miu laughed. "He's a big wimp and listens to what everyone says!" Tsumugi put her finger on her face. "Wouldn't that make you a masochist as well?" This made Miu squeal in nervousness.
Shuichi returned and put the sign down to make the bridge. "But won't it break?" Kaito asked. I shook my head. "Nothing breaks, remember?" Kokichi and Gonta arrived. "I already checked the forest, and there was nothing there." Kokichi confirmed. I wonder if his side-glance habit is in the virtual world as well.
We went across and as we went further, it seemed like I fainted for a moment and came back again. "Oh, was that like when a game loads?" Tsumugi guessed.
"That's right! Think of it like another room. You need to go through a door to go to the other room, so that squiggly line on the map was like that door." Kokichi went back and forth between the loading points. "So all sight and sound cuts off here!" He concluded.
He ran towards the chapel while we all ran after him. We went inside and Miu was right: it looked more like a storage room instead of a chapel. "I guess we'll have to split up if we want to cover some ground then." I said. Miu split us up into two groups: Kokichi, Gonta, Tsumugi, Shuichi, Kaito, and I would search the mansion. The rest would remain here.
When we crossed the bridge, however, Miu followed us and, "Whoops! My hand slipped." She knocked over the Mirai Hills sign so we wouldn't be able to get across. "What the-" She quickly ran away.
We all went to search around the mansion. Shuichi and Tsumugi searched the dining hall and kitchen. Kaito searched the roof while Gonta went outside. Kokichi and I searched the salon. After a while of searching, I heard a bang. "What was that? It sounded like... something falling- KAITO!" I ran out of the salon and bumped into Tsumugi and Shuichi.
"You heard it, too?" Shuichi asked, but I didn't answer. I ran outside and searched around the mansion. "Gonta, did you see anything?" He shook his head. "Gonta hear noise, but he no hear something." I looked over at the bridge and saw Kiibo, Himiko, and Maki. I ran over.
"We need to log out now!" Kiibo warned.
The rest came with the Mirai Hills sign and placed it down so everyone could cross. "Where's Kaito?" Maki asked.
My eyes widened as I looked at the others. "Kaito!" I called out, running as fast as I could towards the mansion as Maki followed. We went up to the rooftop, but he wasn't there.
"Where is he?" I looked down from the roof, but saw nothing on the ground. "We should go back to the others." Maki said.
We went to the entrance hall and saw everyone. "Wait, where's Miu?" I asked. "I'm not sure why, but she suddenly stopped moving." Kiibo said. "Kaito wasn't on the roof either." I looked at Maki.
You can't hide your emotions in this world, so I could tell she was worried. "Wait, Miu stopped moving?" Kiibo nodded. "Maybe something happened to her in the real world." My eyes widened. "No, no, no, no." I ran towards the salon with everyone following me.
Please be okay, please be okay.
That was all that was ringing in my head as I picked up the phone and said my name. I woke up and ripped the helmet off my head. I ran over to Miu.... or rather... her body.
