Storm's POV

I sat on the bed with Shareef sitting on a chair beside me. The doctor ran some test on me and drew some blood to test in the machine. She said she'll be back to give me my results soon. I don't know why, but she looked very familiar, and the way she talked to me was also familiar. Yet I've never met or spoken to her before. Storm don't think about it to much. I wiped my sweaty, shaky hands against my sweatpants as I waited in agitation.

"Nervous?" Shareef asks.

"Uh yea, just a bit" I said. I look over at him and he leans towards me and grabs my hand.

"You have nothing to worry about. Everything is going to be fine" He says. I give him a small smile and nod. He's right Storm, nothing to worry about....right?

"Hey uh, I'll be right back" He says while looking at his phone. He lets go of my hand and walks out of the room, closing the door behind him. I wonder where he's going.

Shareef's POV

I walk out of the room and look at my phone in confusion. I walk down the hall that leads to waiting room and open the door.

"Hey man" Josh says once he sees me.

"What are you doing here bro?" I asked him. It was actually pretty nice that he was here for Storm. But with so much going on, I think they deserve some space from one another.

"I'm here to be with Storm. You know I care about these kind of things" He says.

"I know you do, and so do I. But do you think it's a good idea for you to be here?" I asked him. He sighs and looks down.

"Honestly, no. But I still wanna be there for her" He says. I looked at him for a bit before sighing. Storm is gonna beat my ass.

"Don't talk about the divorce or y'all's situation. Even if she brings it up" I told him.

"Ok" He says before I open the door and we walk in. We walked towards her door and I turned to him.

"You gonna be ok?" I asked him.

"Yea, I'll be fine" He says. I nodded before opening the door. She turns her head and looks at Josh. She then glares at me. Shit....

Storm's POV

What in the world was Shareef thinking? If he was gonna invite Josh he could've at least told me. These boys just irritate me!

"Really Shareef?" I said glaring at him.

"I didn't know he was coming" He says with his hands up. I looked at Josh and scanned him from head to toe. His orange Gup hoodie on, black joggers, and his black crocs. He had his hoodie on and his glasses low on his nose. He looked so cute!

"Why are you here?" I asked him. He looks at me before taking a seat beside me.

"Because I want to be" He says. I turned around and felt my face heat up. Wrong time to be blushing Storm. We sat in the room in silence. Not a word was said. Can someone speak?

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asks me. I was hoping Shareef would break the silence.

"I didn't think it was serious. Nor did I want to worry you" I shrugged.

"Storm, I get worried if you trip on air. No matter what, I'm always gonna be worried about you. Especially about your health" He says.

"You tell everyone else but me" He chuckles. I rolled my eyes and looked at him.

"I didn't say anything, Heaven noticed and questioned me about it. She told Shareef, and here we are today" I said to him.

"I still think you should've told me" He says.

"Well you know now right?" I said while giving him a look.

"Don't need to get an attitude Ms.I keep secrets" He says. Ugh.

"Here we go again" I said rolling my eyes.

"Guys c'mon now. You're fighting like children" Shareef says. I folded my arms and looked away.

"I'm sorry for not telling you" I mumbled.

"Sorry for arguing with you" He says.

"That's better" Shareef says smiling at us. I rolled my eyes and then the doctor walks in.

"Wow, I'm in room full of celebrities. Today is my lucky day" She says and we all laughed. I need to find out who she is.

"Alright Storm, I got your results back" She says taking a seat and puts her glasses on before opening my folder.

"So, I'm afraid I have some bad news for you" She says. The way her voice changed caused my heart beat to fasten. Oh no...

"Just lay it out on me. Don't sugarcoat anything" I told her. The last thing I need is her to sweeten up the bad news. I'll just take it as it is. I closed my eyes and waited for her to speak.

"Alright well, after looking through your results and talking with the other doctors. You're having signs of a serious heart attack. From your last report, I see that you had a minor one. Now that it's already happened, the next one will be very serious. And I don't think you'll be so lucky with this one" She says. I bit my lip as the tears wanted to spill. Keep it together Storm.

"The blood flow to your heart keeps blocking. So when you have that sharp pain in your chest, that's the blood being blocked from your heart. This is often caused by the buildup of thick plaques on the inner walls of the artery that carry blood to your heart" She says.

"So, when the pain goes away, that means the blood is flowing again right?" Shareef asks.

"That's correct. I don't know when exactly your attack will happen but I do know that it will happen. I can give you some medication to try and keep it under control, so when it does happen you don't die, but your left with some damage. But the medication can also help prevent it" She says. I open my eyes and look at her.

"I don't want medication" I said shaking my head. Josh and Shareef look at me.

"What?" Josh says.

"It's going to make things worse. I know it is, what's my other option?" I asked the doctor.

"Well, I seen that you also suffer from depression and anxiety. That plays a big part as well with your heart condition. Do you stress a lot Storm?" She asks me. I nodded my head.

"Stress is the last thing you need right now. Don't worry about anything, maybe take a break from work. Or work, if it makes you happy. But just take it easy. You're healthy so I say continue to be and surround yourself with things and people that make you happy. That will keep your heart beat and blood flow at a steady pace which means that'll help prevent you from having a heart attack. But Storm, I hope you take it easy. By the looks of this report, if your heart rate gets to high, you can have a instant heart attack" She says. She closes the folder and lifts her glasses up.

"But I know your a strong girl, you'll get through this. Just like you do with everything" She says. She gives me a look before standing up and walking out of the room. Wait....

"I'm gonna go talk to the doctor. I'll be back" Shareef says and follows her. He closes the door, which leaves Josh and I. I closed my eyes as I felt the tears come back. A few of them fall before I start to fully cry. I feel Josh grab a hold of my hand and give it a long kiss.

"Don't cry" I heard him say. That only made me cry more. I'm trying not to Josh!

"I-I'm sorry, I-I" I tried to speak but end up sobbing. Man this hurts. Josh stands up and pulls me into his arms as I cried onto him. I wrap my arms around him and hold onto him tightly.

"Don't cry Storm" He whispers to me.

"I-I'm trying n-not to" I tried to say. I try to blink away the tears but they keep coming.

"Don't worry ma, nothing is going to happen to you. I won't let some heart problem take you away from me or anyone else" He says and wipes my tears away.

Josh's POV

"Ok..." She says softly. I kiss her hands then her forehead. This is breaking my heart.

"I'll be right back ok?" I said to her and she nods. I walked out of the room and closed the door behind me. I see Shareef come back and he frowns. I take my glasses off as tears to stream out of my eyes. I can't hold it in anymore.

"Come here bro" He says and pulls me into a hug.

"I can't lose her like this...I can't!"
