weird," Joshua complained.

"You're the one who wanted to learn!" Ayoluwa replied as she fixed his fingers on the neck of the guitar.

Joshua was sitting at the kitchen table, an acoustic guitar in his lap, while Ayoluwa was standing behind him to aide him.

"Now slide your finger down to f."

Joshua studied the chords, "Where is f?"

Ayoluwa moved his fingers to the correct string and a few locs moved over his shoulder.

Joshua looked from the locs then up at her.

Her light brown eyes were still focused on the placement of his hands on the instrument and the sunlight flowing through the window only highlighted her white dress and her brown skin.

Her eyes finally flickered over to where Joshua was staring, "What? Is there something on my face?"

"Nope," Joshua poked one finger into her dimples and then lightly twisted it around.

Ayoluwa giggled, "You're so annoying."

"This shit is hard," Joshua set the guitar on the glass table.

"It takes practice." Ayoluwa corrected as she picked up the instrument and started to strum a lively tune.

"What's this song?" Joshua asked.

"It's just something I made up on the fly." Ayoluwa replied, her fingers still playing the notes.

On the table, her phone lit up causing her to lean over and pick it up.

Ayoluwa made a face as she examined the screen, "Who is this?"

"What?" Joshua's gaze was on his own phone.

"Uh, Dior's friend Jalen followed me on Instagram, like out of nowhere."

At his sound of his friend's name, Joshua popped his head up and tilted it to look at her screen.

Her lock screen was a picture of her and Nipsey Hussle who was holding Lauryn.

"You knew Nipsey?" Joshua asked.

"Well not personally, but he used to come by Oasis a lot before he passed."

"Passed? You mean when he died?"

"Energy doesn't really die. It just changes. So no, not when he died, when he passed." Ayoluwa replied.

"Ignore me, I'm being such a Pisces."

Joshua glanced back at the phone and sure enough Jalen and Noelani's Instagram username were on her phone screen.

Joshua groaned, "Are you fucking kidding me?"

"What's wrong?" Ayoluwa's expression was of worry.

"Remember when I told you about how my friend moved to Hawaii to be with his girlfriend?"

Ayoluwa nodded at his words, and Joshua continued, "That's them. I don't know how they found you when I didn't tell him about you."

Ayoluwa shrugged and picked the guitar back up.

Joshua was troubled.

If Jalen was suspecting something enough to follow Ayoluwa, it wouldn't be long before his other friends picked up on it.

The next day, like usual, Joshua woke up in the bed alone.

After showering, brushing his teeth and changing Joshua padded downstairs, following the notes from Real Love by Mary J. Blige.

Joshua came into the kitchen to see Ayoluwa dancing and singing lightly along to the music as she scrubbed a pan in the sink.

Joshua wrapped two arms around her waist, "Morning."

"Morning," Ayoluwa replied.

He spun her around in order to give her a proper kiss and as soon as it was received, Ayoluwa tugged off the yellow cleaning gloves she was wearing.

The song switched to If I Ever Fall In Love by Shai.

Time slowed down as Ayoluwa wrapped one arm around his neck and pulled him closer.

Joshua slid his hands around her waist and began to rock her back and forth to the beat.

Her eyes would flicker to his lips then to his eyes then down to the floor as they slow danced.

"Shit Palmer, if you wanna kiss, let's kiss..." Joshua muttered.

She went up on her sock covered toes to become a little taller and then gave him another simple kiss on the lips then stepped away.

"Uh, that's it?" Joshua asked.

Ayoluwa smirked, "That's all you can handle."

Joshua gave her a 'really' look then snatched her back into his arms.

Joshua pressed his lips onto hers with slight roughness for a longer kiss before moving his lips off.

He pressed kisses to her shoulder, moving her tank top strap out of the way.

Joshua continued to kiss up to Ayoluwa's neck and the girl let out a choppy breath just as Joshua began to lightly suck on her neck.

Then, once Joshua was sure he had left a hickey, he stepped back with a smirk.

Ayoluwa still had her eyes closed, only fluttering them open once she realized Joshua wasn't close anymore.

"Who can't handle who?" Joshua laughed.

Ayoluwa rolled her eyes, "You got a big ass head."

Joshua snickered then paused at how loud he sounded to himself.

"Am i being loud right now?"

Ayoluwa passed him a weird look at the question, "Uh, no...?"

"Oh," With horror, a previous conversation that he had shared with Jalen floated through his cranium.

"Bro, I used to think the same shit, I promise you, but nah it's not. I can't explain it but it's like a movie kinda. When she's around, colors are brighter, I hear better, little shit like that."

Joshua pulled back in a jerky motion making Ayoluwa frown, "What's wrong?"

"Uh, nothing. Give me a second." Joshua was panicking.

It took a minute and a half for Joshua to grab a blunt from his bag and a lighter then make his way outside.

Liking Ayoluwa he could accept, possibly falling in love with her, however, was completely out of the question.
