turned a little in his bed in an attempt to go back to sleep.

The sunlight was streaming through his half opened blinds and created a silhouette of it on the oatmeal carpeted floor.

"Mmm. Josh, can you stop moving so much?" A raspy feminine voice sounded next to him.

At the sound of another voice, Joshua's eyes flew open to see a brunette on the other side of his bed.

I coulda sworn I told shorty to leave last night...

"Uh," Joshua couldn't remember her name, "Shorty, you gotta go."

What the fuck was her name?

I think it started with a k...

Kayla?

No.

Kaitlyn?

No.

Katherine?

No.

"What?" The girl sat up, pulling the blanket up to cover her chest.

"You gotta go. I told you to leave last night." Joshua said.

Or maybe it's not with a k.

Maybe a g?

Gina?

No.

Gigi?

No.

Gabby?

Maybe.

"I got here at two am." The girl pointed out, "You know how hard that is when you don't drive?"

Joshua shrugged, failing to see her point, "You could've said no."

"Fine. Can I at least get a ride back?" The girl got up and began to slide on her clothes from the floor, "Please?"

"I can get you an Uber. It's mad early." Joshua turned back over.

"Really Joshy? I snuck out, I came all the way her-." She started to say.

Joshy?

What the fuck?

"I can get you an Uber. That's it shorty." Joshua shifted in the bed just a little.

The girl huffed, "How far is the closest Uber?"

Joshua tapped his phone screen a couple times, "There's one two minutes away. See you at school. Close the door behind you please."

Joshua turned back over in his bed, still a little groggy.

"You're not gonna at least walk me out? Really?" The girl's voice rose significantly.

"Shut up. You bout to wake up my parents." Joshua hissed.

"Walk me out." The girl demanded.

Joshua rolled his eyes but moved the blanket off of him, revealing basketball shorts and a bare chest.

Joshua and the girl crept down the stairs as silently as they could and Joshua opened the automatic garage door.

Next door, Joshua could spot Ayoluwa getting her mail, wearing a tube top and grey sweatpants.

Her locs were pulled into a ponytail and there were airpods in her ears, playing a song that she was bopping her head to as she collected a stack of envelopes.

A silver sedan pulled up in front of the driveway of Joshua's house.

"Alright, bye." Joshua started to turn back and walk inside but the girl grabbed his arm.

"What now shorty?" Joshua groaned.

The girl furrowed her brows, "Why do you keep me calling me shorty?"

Joshua blinked, "Uh."

"Joshy... Do you not know my name!?" The girl yelled.

Joshua could see Ayoluwa take out one AirPod and then plaster a smirk on her face.

"Well? What's my name?" The girl asked in a furious tone.

Ayoluwa visibly chuckled, her shoulders moving up and down a little.

"I don't need to know your name. We not fucking or talking again, so..." Joshua shrugged and the girl struck him across the face, leaving a red mark on his cheek.

This time, Ayoluwa's laugh was audible causing Joshua to look at her again.

Their gazes met and before Joshua could do something petty like give her the bird, the girl pushed him back, "Stop looking over there! What's my name?"

"You got one more time to put your hands on me. Get in the Uber and go, for real, Kayla." Joshua warned her.

"It's Karina! Asshole!" The girl huffed, shook her head but thankfully was finally gone.

"Wow..." Ayoluwa called out to him, "That was real smooth, Joshy. Real classy."

Joshua screwed up his face at her words, "I know you not talking about classy when you getting ran through on the daily by your entire friend group."

"The only thing getting ran through are the girls you get. You think you the only one fucking them? I know for a fact you got STDs." Ayoluwa taunted him.

"You think all of those guys are clean?" Joshua laughed.

"You're not denying having a dirty dick." She pointed out.

"I don't need to. I know what the fuck is going on." Joshua said.

"Clearly you don't or you would've known shorty's name." Ayoluwa said as she started to walk back up to the front porch of her house.

Joshua balled his tongue in his cheek, annoyed.

"Bye, Joshy." Ayoluwa cackled then closed her front door with a slam.

"What a bitch." Joshua muttered as he entered his own home through the open garage door.
