Vladimir was carrying me in his arms towards the pack house but then suddenly stopped and turned away when Daniel came surging towards us in his full speed. Vladimir set me on ground on my foot and stood in front of me protectively. To save his new mate from her ex mate.

Before Daniel could attack us, another wolf jumped on him from other side. He was Kyle. He clamped his jaws on Daniel’s neck making him submit. Daniel turned into his human form and I averted my eyes from him. He was then taken away by the other wolves.

Jason touched my arm and Vladimir attacked him, pinning him on the floor. I looked for that girl again and she scoffed. She walked away from the scene, disappeared in the heads of werewolves. I looked back at Vladimir and placed my hand on his shoulder and pulled him away from Jason using my vampiric strength.

I looked into his angry green eyes and cupped his face. They were all watching us. I hugged him to me. He didn’t return my hug but scooped me in his arms again.

He carried me to out room and shut the door behind him.

“Why don’t you put a leash on him?” Vladimir gritted out, his fangs were on display as he pinned me against the wall. His wounds were healing quickly. But he was very pissed.

“I can’t control his actions.” I gritted out. What was so wrong with him?

“To me it seems you do. He always attacks me when his scent is on you. Always.”

“I didn’t-,”

“Don’t lie to me!” He kept his voice lower but I knew he wanted to shout at me. “I saw you. You were looking at someone else while your mate was attacking me. You did it on purpose, didn’t you?”

He is way too smart. I should have known he would figure it out somehow.

“Vladimir, I was trying to search for that heir.” I told him finally. He narrowed his eyes at me.

“Spill,” He pressed his body to mine. I didn’t want to get in any fight with him.

“I think that the girl you were talking about previously is the heir.” I told him.

“What?” He knew who I was talking about.

“That girl. She is the heir.”

He then released me. “I had figured that part out. So what now?”

“We should take her to the Blood Devil.” I told him calmly.

“I don’t know about that. What if she is not the one?”

“There’s no way we both can be wrong about this.”

“Hmm…”

“Before that, I need to take Daniel to the Moonstone pack.” I told him.

His head whipped in my direction as I said that. He looked at me sharply with bright green eyes.

“Listen, Daniel is interfering with our work here. Besides, I need to visit my brother and his pregnant mate.”

“Blood Devil won’t allow it.” He denied.

“We don’t have to ask him.”

His eyes turned cold when I said that.

“Besides, once we hand him over that girl, he won’t care where I go. And I’m really planning to go back to the pack.”

“You mean your old pack?” He frowned.

“Yes, my old pack.” I nodded my head.

“Why do you want to go there? Don’t forget you are a vampire.”

“Daniel will accept me even if I’m a vampire.” I shrugged. “Besides, I’m not doing it because I love Daniel or anything. I’m doing it for my brother.”

“What do you mean?”

“Dave is not the original beta. It will be a lot of pressure on him. Besides Manny is Luna and she is pregnant. I don’t want her worrying over the pack or me during her pregnancy. That’s why I need to go back.”

“I don’t think that is a good idea.”

“But it needs to be done. I love my family more than anything. I don’t want them to be in any kind of trouble.”

“And what if Blood Devil doesn’t agree?”

I scoffed. “I’m sure Celia will keep him busy.”

“Celia?” He frowned.

“Yeah, her. Didn’t you tell me that she is always around to keep his bed warm? I think she will be a great distraction if you convince her to do so. I’m sure she won’t mind. And I’m sure Blood Devil won’t mind too.”

He accessed me with his steel eyes. His whole form was tense.

“Why do you want me to convince her?” He asked her in a low dangerous voice.

“You can do it better. You have a way with your words.” I told him with a shrug.

“Don’t you think Blood Devil will be able to see through it? He will kill me.”

“He was the one who made you into a vampire. I don’t think you will kill you.”

“But he sure will punish me. He will skin me.”

I grimaced. “I don’t like the picture.”

“You don’t like it. But that will be my future.”

“She has grown smarter than before.” The girl with sandy blonde hair looked at the book in Kyle’s office. “I had never expected this from her.”

“What do you mean?” Kyle asked her with a frown.

The fight outside had settled. He was still angry over the ruckus Daniel had caused. And mostly because Daniel had managed to injure Blood Devil’s right hand man. But Blood Devil was the one to ask Kyle to call Daniel at the first place. He must have already figured out that something like this would happen. Besides the Vampire King looked exceptionally calm in his female form. Kyle felt guilty deceiving Sera like that. But he had no other choice. Initially, he was doing this all so that he could win Sera but now he’s doing this so that he can keep Destiny safe.

“She had planned this all. I don’t know when she figured out this much.” The girl spoke leaning against the wall with a smirk on her face. “I must admit. I’m impressed.”

“What are you talking about?” Kyle was confused.

“You don’t need to know the details. Make sure Daniel is locked in the dungeons. His purpose is served for now. He should remain down there until we need him again.”

“Why do you need Daniel for all this?”

“That’s something I can’t tell you now.”

“I’m sure he won’t do that.” I sat close to Vladimir. “I’ll get my little pups to convince him.”

His eyes narrowed. “What are you talking about?”

“I wonder with a Vampire and a Werewolf can mate. But Daniel still has feelings for me so I think it still should mean something. What do you think, Vladimir?”

“Why you,” he gritted with blazing eyes.

“Or maybe you can overthrow Blood Devil or something.” I added. “You are strong. Once you kill Blood Devil, you will become the new Vampire King. I’m sure you won’t get any punishment then.”

I knew I was playing with fire but I had to make sure. Just to make sure.

He didn’t let me think more as he pinned me down the bed.

“You have developed a bad habit of talking too much, Sera Winters.” I growled at me. His fangs were on display that told me he was really, really angry. This could be the last day of my life.

“Did I say something wrong, Blood Devil?” I asked with a smirk.
