《Cold Blood (Completed)》Forty Two- More Secrets Revealed

"Who is Cane?" I asked. I had heard that name before. Maybe swarming in someone's memory but I didn't remember it anymore.
"Shea's mate," Dave answered.
"Shea's mate? I thought he rejected her." I said.
"Mating bond is not so easy to break. Daniel doesn't know it, because we hid this thing from him, but Shea had once escaped to dungeons and spent a night with Cane. After that it must be hard for her to resist him." He told me.
I nodded my head. So Shea was... okay, I get it. She was with her mate and now they are planning to destroy Moonstone pack for what? Revenge?
Cane must be angry that Daniel stole his mate and Shea... She is crazy. No hope from her. She might kill the nicest person on earth and still claim she did the benefit to mankind.
"So he is doing this to get back Shea-rightfully?" Wilson guessed.
"Daniel's wolf has rejected Shea. I think it's for revenge." I told them what I thought.
They seemed to buy my conclusion.
"Why would Cane believe on her?" Eric asked. "He was a nice man. He didn't seem like one to-"
"You can't believe anyone." I interrupted him. He nodded his head but still seemed dubious. "We will talk about this later. Get these photographs to Daniel and destroy this place."
"Destroy?" Wilson asked.
"Blast it." I told him casually. "And don't forget the old man. Throw him in same cell as that of Miles'." I shouted over my shoulder and walked out of the door.
"Lift me on your back." I said. Wilson gave me a look that said What?!
"I can't run as fast as you. I don't want to be left behind. Just shift into your wolf. I'll sit on your back."
He nodded his head. "Hold on tightly."
He shifted and other's followed. I held tightly on him as he pierced though the woods and we were out in less than two minutes. I got to car and threw some clothes outside.
"Put on these clothes. I'm going to call Daniel." I shouted and dialed Daniel.
He picked on third ring.
"Sera," he sounded cheerful.
"Hey Daniel, what are you doing?" I asked.
"Still searching for Dave. We will find him soon." He assured me. I rolled my eyes.
"We have found Dave. Don't worry. And he is completely fine." I told him. He didn't say anything for few seconds. I turned around to look at boys. Dave had put on jeans. I called him. He walked to me.
"Talk to him," I said to Daniel and handed over the phone to Dave.
I went inside the car and watched three really hot wolves putting on shirts. They had maintained themselves properly. All of them were well endowed with muscles and looked incredibly hot.
A growl sounded in my head and I jerked on my seat, my heart thumped inside my chest. I placed a hand on my chest and looked around but there was no one. Maybe that was just my imagination. I sighed and closed my eyes leaning back on the seat. I closed my eyes and let my head fall on side relaxing myself from adrenaline rush.
When I opened my eyes, I gasped. There were green eyes glaring back into mine. The only thing separating us was the windshield. My jaw dropped and eyes widened in shock. I could hear every beat of my heart inside my head.

"B-Blood D-D-Devil," I stammered. He narrowed his beautiful eyes at me. I stared at his perfect face. His pale skin looked so soft and my fingers itched to touch him. But I was not a fool to commit a mistake like that. He will kill me.
He didn't say a word and disappeared as if he was never there.
"Hey Sera," a voice interrupted me. I shook my head to clear my thoughts. I didn't get out of car because I was still terrified. My heart was still pounding.
"What?" I shouted shakily from inside the car.
"Look at this, there are dead rogues here." Wilson shouted. I didn't get out of the car. When they noticed this, they returned to the car.
"Won't you take a look at that? There are more than twenty rogues dead. Most of their heads are detached from the bodies." Eric said still outside.
"No. Let's just get out of here. I'm not driving." I sat on the passenger seat.
They exchanged looks but nodded and got inside.
"But what about those bodies?"
"Leave them. Ask someone to deliver them inside cottage and then blast the thing." I told him with gritted teeth.
I knew who killed them. Only one person has power to kill so many werewolves simultaneously. And just the thought frightens me.
I closed my eyes and leaned my head back. Growling, I went to back seat. Dave returned to car. Eric took the passenger seat and Dave sat on my side. I curled at his side clutching to his arm.
"Are you okay?" Dave asked me.
I nodded and hid my head in his chest. I can't forget the day before I came here.
He had demonstrated to me what he did to those who dared to leave him or those who did not do his work. He had killed that vampire in front of my eyes. It was so horrible and I will never want to have that fate.
"I'm fine," I whispered.
Dave put an arm around me and I felt safe.
"What happened?" I heard him ask.
"I don't know. Maybe she saw dead bodies of those rogues. It was a really disgusting sight. Whoever killed them was a really brutal. Those people must be really powerful to kill those rogues like that." Wilson answered.
I didn't want to tell him that it was only one person who killed them all.
There are several things about Blood Devil which will make your hairs stand. I have been taught to face every situation. I've been trained for over a year to be a spy vampire. I'm taught to fight and escape according situations. I have to use my mind first before acting on anything.
But presence of Blood Devil is intimidating. I can't forget those green eyes. They are beautiful but the coldness inside them makes you feel cold inside. His gloved hands burn everything they touch. Everyone fears him. In all the realms his name is name of Devil. That's why he is called Blood Devil and not Vampire King. Werewolf King and Blood Devil are not in best terms but Werewolf King knows not to mess with the dangerous blood sucker.
Not many people know about existence of Vampire King and Werewolf King. I came to know about it from Blood Devil before he sent me to find the heir. He clearly said that I don't have to be caught by Werewolf King or I will be disowned from Vampire Kingdom and whole blame of the deceit will be on my shoulders while Blood Devil will drink his favorite blood group.

I've never seen Werewolf King and I don't want to.
For now I have to find that heir. But I'm stalling it because I don't want to know now. I fear if it's Dave or Manny, I will not be able to say the name to high and mighty king. He will kill my loved ones and I can't allow that to happen.
When we reached the pack house, Dave gave me a worried look and I assured him with a weak smile. He was tackled by Daniel and was bombarded with questions. I went to my room feeling exhausted not noticing Daniel following me. I only acknowledged his presence when he sat beside me on the bed.
"Are you alright?" He asked placing a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded my head with closed eyes.
He brought an arm around my waist and buried his head in my hairs. "You will not go anywhere from now. I was so worried about you. What if rogues had attacked you?"
I frowned at his protectiveness. "I'm fine. And I wanted to save Dave."
"I know. But you could have at least talked to me about it."
"It was just a hunch. I had this feeling that Dave was in the woods so I asked Eric not to call other packs and search inside the territory."
"You did the right thing but don't leave me worried. After Dave I thought I would lose you too." He pulled away looking into my eyes.
"But instead you got Dave back. No loss." I smiled at him.
His eyes dipped down to my lips and before I knew, he was kissing me. It was a soft slow kiss. But I didn't respond with images of Blood Devil still fresh inside my brain.
Daniel pulled away. "I'm sorry." He left the room. I didn't miss hurt flashing in his eyes.
It made me feel guilty but not too much. I just hope Dave talks to him about that Cane guy. And now I have to see Miles and his whatever brother is there. I hope the old man doesn't die of elevated blood pressure because I'm so tempted to kill him.
*
Brothers were catching up. Not by hugging each other but by pouncing at each other. Guards had to pry them apart before they killed each other. And I was watching the drama without popcorns.
"Hey Miles. Won't you introduce me to your brother?" I asked standing outside the cell. Their heads snapped in my direction.
Miles glared at me. "Shut up."
"It's your fault." His brother said.
"Not my fault," Miles argued.
"Of course it was your fault. You didn't hide your tracks carefully or I'd not have been caught."
"I was careful. It was your fault."
"How was it my fault?"
"I didn't do anything wrong so it was your fault."
"It was your fault."
"SHUT UP!" I shouted and both silenced. "Shame on you old men. Fighting like five year olds." I shook my head. They glared at me.
"And FYI Mr..." I trailed off.
"Hudson," Miles' brother offered.
"Mr. Hudson. I must say I came to know about Miles from you actually. I could have never guessed Miles was in this if your rogues had not kidnapped Dave, I had not gone to follow him and not smelt your blood. Your scent was familiar to that of Miles. A rogue and a member of Moonstone pack. That's how Miles was caught, sir." I gave him the explanation. His cheeks reddened and I smirked.
"So let's start friends," I leaned to wall. "Tell me about yourself."
"We are brothers. Hudson is my elder brother. He was thrown out of the pack many years ago after assaulting a girl. He became a rogue. He wanted revenge on Alpha and then the pack was attacked. I was kidnapped, or should I say we conspired together. Our plan was to kill Daniel but that didn't happen. That witch came to save him." Miles started.
"That witch?" I frowned.
"Yeah, she was different. She was a part of this pack. When rogues were going to kidnap Daniel, she killed all of them singlehandedly. She was not just a werewolf. She was something more. She killed all of my men." Hudson told me.
"Our plan failed. Pack has gone aware by then and they were stronger. It was impossible to stand against them. We had to cease the attacks and mission altogether. Alpha Wayne had grown to be a strong Alpha and we knew we couldn't destroy the pack."
I nodded my head soaking in all the information. So it started years ago. The feud was with Alpha Wayne and not Daniel. I wonder if he knows about it.
"So why did you start attacking the pack again?" I asked him.
"I wanted to take revenge. The fire never died. And my anger was fuelled when I came to know that Daniel had mated with my son's mate." Hudson growled. I was shocked.
"Cane is your son?" I asked even though I knew the answer.
"Yes. He is my son. He had always waited for his mate but when he found her, she was already with son of my enemy. So we planned to take revenge on Moonstone pack for taking away our happiness. Later Shea teamed up with us. Mating bond can't be resisted that easily. With Luna of the pack at side, it was easier to destroy it. Everything was going fine until you barged in." He spat at me.
I just shrugged not taking any offence.
"What is about your powers?" I asked Miles. "You ability to see in other person or whatever it is?"
"I'm a psychic, a werewolf psychic. Just like humans have." Miles told me and I nodded my head.
"So that explains it. You two were always against this pack. This poison was fed years ago showing its effects in present." I comprehended. "So what was your reaction when Shea was rejected by Daniel?"
"It was a big shock to our plans. We had thought that she will strengthen bond with the pack members and destroy them eventually. We expected her to keep Osborn away from the pack. She had to destroy Daniel completely by drowning him in alcohol. Everything was going fine. But it all ended on that bastard's birthday." Hudson growled.
I winced at his language even though I have heard worse in werewolf world. Vampire Kingdom is stricter at the use of sear words.
"So what did you do with her?"
"I ordered my wolves to kill her but my son, MY OWN SON, CAME FOR HER DEFENSE. HER. THAT WORTHLESS GIRL." Hudson started coughing.
I shook my head in dismay.
"So what are you planning now?"
"I was going to contact other rogues. My own son left him and he took away several other wolves of mine. Most of them were killed but there are other rogues in forest and they will come to destroy this pack and save me." I didn't bother to tell him that he didn't have anyone in his army. They all were dead.
And I was such a fool to go in woods wity only Wilson, Eric, Ethan and Dave. He had a back up plan. There were many rogues. We could have been seriously outnumbered and captured. If it wasn't for Blood Devil, we could have been killed. He must be thinking I'm useless. At least I didn't receive any call from Vladimir about this yet
Most the information was revealed. But there was one question.
"Do you know what was the lady who saved Daniel?"
"No. But she was different. Her kind was different. Her blood was royal. And if she was mated to a werewolf, the heir of the royal blood was born in this pack." Miles said. My ears perked up. And that's what I'm searching. The heir.
"You know who is the heir?" I asked trying to sound not so curious.
"No. I wanted to but it was not easy. A child doesn't show many signs. But as they grow up, changes occur."
"How can you find out that one had royal blood? If they are grown up?"
"I don't know. I didn't search about it more."
I was disappointed and it was hard not to show it on my face but Miles and Hudson were too busy looking for a way out that they didn't pay any attention.
"Sorry to lock up you guys. But you both are not getting out." I told them with a smirk.
"Before you go. Let me tell you that I was the one to kill your parents. They were really useless. Sacrificing their lives to save the pack." Hudson said with a smirk.
Hudson was crazy. Too bad Miles had to face the consequences too.
I gave him a cold look. He was talking about dad and Dave's mom.
"I'm allowed to take any decision regarding to them." I told the guards. "These two old men should be dead in next five minutes."
Hudson and Miles tensed and shouted profanities at me as I walked out. Their voices died with them within next five minutes.
My phone started ringing as I made my way towards my room. I'm glad I didn't have ant encounter with Daniel. I was too exhausted to bear his trouble.
The screen flashed unknown number. Confused, I slid my finger to green sign and pressed the gadget to my ear.
"Hello?" I was expecting Vladimir to shout at me but instead I heard a femine voice.
"Her Luna," she said 'Luna' with so much disgust. I was not surprised by her jealous act but I was surprised she bothered to call me. From what I infered from Hudson, she must be enjoying with her mate.
"Shea, nice to hear from you." I said sarcastically.
"I know. And it will be better when you hear from your mate." She said in a sickening sweet tone.
I frowned and used my vampire speed to get to Daniel's room, all worse scenarios running inside my head.
The room was empty.
"I'm sending you my location. Come and save your Alpha, Luna." She spat the last word.
I threw my phone against the wall in anger.

8 73Homecoming | A Chronicles of Ascension Story
When Jethen was captured by slavers, his childhood was torn from him and left shattered half a world away. When he finds himself back home decades later, by methods he does not fully understand, he finds that the life he has lived has changed him far more than he knew. In a home he no longer knows. Places and people at the same time familiar and foreign, he must decide - stay and help with his parent's business, or return to the land that remade him and the family he made there. --------- Homecoming started as just a short story to break an episode of writers block. It has since morphed well beyond that into a novel in it's own right, and may well end up with a sequel. The writing of Homecoming became a bit of a self induced challenge to improve my initial, first brush, writing quality. Each chapter was written raw, given a once over read and edit, and then posted. In this way I am forcing myself to write better from the start. I do hope you enjoy the story and will leave a comment or review, and if you see an issue, feel free to let me know as well. I know it is not nearly perfect, and it will get a full and proper edit once I am done. Never hurts to fix things along the way though. As an additional note. The story has undergone a structural rework and has been reposted in an updated structure and sequence of chapters. If you have read this story already, I invite you to do so again in this new structure.
