《Cold Blood (Completed)》Thirty Eight- More Triators

I hurried to the patio where I had seen someone spying on Daniel and I. When Daniel was talking to me, I had noticed that person watching us with curious eyes. I could feel negativity radiating from him. When I was at the spot, there was no one around. The place was completely empty. But I could smell vestiges of scent lingering in air which was so awfully familiar.
My eyes widened in shock. If he was the traitor of the pack then shame on me. How could I not have noticed it before? How could I have been so clueless about it?
Dang it.
I wanted to kick the wall but it'd break and I didn't want to inflict any damage to Daniel's lovely house. My anger spiked. My emotions had been out of control since past few days, ever since Dave went missing. I have to gain control on myself. With a sigh, I decided to take a run in the woods.
"Luna," I said to Daniel's mom. She was sitting on the couch with a tablet on her hand. Her head snapped in my direction. She smiled at me warmly.
"Sera, don't call me Luna. You are now Luna of this pack. Call me Daisy," she told me. This lady was really nice. I wondered how she could be Daniel's mother. He had inherited everything from his cunning father.
"Okay Daisy," I smiled at her. I never knew her name was Daisy. Now I think about it, I don't exactly know everything about this pack.
"Come, sit here," she gestured me to sit beside her. I nodded and took the comfortable seat.
"How are you feeling?" She started the conversation. I knew she wanted to says something to me but she was waiting for the right moment to strike.

"I'm feeling fine." I said in a quiet voice.
"Do you like this house?" She gestured with her hands. My eyes followed movements of her tanned manicured hands.
"Yes, this is a beautiful house."
"And what about people living here?"
"They are great."
"Tell me about yourself. Who are your parents?"
"My parents are Roger and... Selena." I told her not wanting to say anything about my real mom because I knew she didn't know anything about her and Alpha Wayne must have not told it to her for some reason.
She frowned trying to remember my parents. "The name sound familiar." She mumbled.
"They were killed in rogue attack many years ago." I told her. "And Dave, the Beta, is my brother."
Understanding downed her at mention of Dave's name. She nodded her head. "I'm sorry for your loss. You had to face so many hardships at such a young age." Her tone was sympathetic, full of pity. I didn't need her pity but it was not like I could control her emotions.
"It was not very bad." I just shrugged.
"I'm sorry for what my son did." She almost sobbed.
Now she is talking. Angry part of me screamed in my head. It was impossible for me to ignore the bitterness in my heart.
"It's okay," I shook my head slightly.
It was getting kind of boring- hearing about Daniel's mistake. I was the one who faced consequences. No matter how many times I tell myself that it was not entirely his fault and that the blame goes to weak mating bond, I can't help myself from resenting him.
"He did wrong by rejecting you." Sadness in her tone didn't move me.
I was not going to comfort her. She should have understood it when her son was screwing Shea. She was Luna and she should have paid attention to what his son and future Alpha was doing. His pack had to face. Daniel was attacked only once by rogues... My eyes widened in shock but I recovered quickly.

"That's past now. We should forget what happened back then." But I won't.
"You are right," she nodded her head.
"I need to go to my room now." I got up and hurried to my room. I was sure she was going to cry rivers down there.
When I reached my room, I was shocked to see Daniel already inside there. He was sitting on the bed staring at the wall in front of me, immersed in his own thoughts. He didn't notice I was there and I didn't interrupt him. Instead I walked to the office where I found Alpha Wayne.
His snapped at me as he noticed my arrival. His skin crinkled as he frowned.
"Can I do something for you Sera?" He asked me.
"I think I found the traitor." I told him in monotone.
He stared at me seriously for a couple of minutes but I didn't continue.
"And who that could be?" He asked leaning forward. The book he was reading when I arrived was forgotten.
"Before telling you, I want you to station two guards at Miles' house."
"Miles?" He frowned.
"Yes, Miles. The old me who was captured by rogues but later escaped."
"Why?"
"I think he consider rogues as his friends."
"You think he is the traitor."
"I think they are more than one. Miles is one of them. He never lost his contacts with rogues."
"How can you say that?"
"I was thinking about the only rogue attack on Daniel."
"Daniel was attacked?" He asked with wide eyes.
"Yes he was. I asked Eric not to tell you. We were searching for Dave and went to Miles for information. We didn't get anything from him. He just told us that rogues kept him in dungeons and all torture he had to endure. At the moment I didn't paid any attention because of stress but now that I think of it, Miles was hiding something.
"There was no way nothing special could have happened there. He said that rogues were going to attack a pack once and he managed to escape. But when I searched about it, there was no attack by rogues when Miles was captured by them."
He nodded his head trying to process all the information.
I didn't tell him everything. There was so much more.
"Do you have any idea who is the other traitor?" He asked me. He knew it and I knew it too. He just wanted me to say it aloud.
"Luna..."
