For all those who are wondering, the 38th chapter will be the MATURE one. ♥
I yawned and stretched, looking out of the open window, through which bright, golden flecks of sunlight streamed into the room.
"What a beautiful morning!" I smiled to myself.
Yesterday was the most amazing day of my existence. I couldn't stop smiling and rethinking everything that had happened.
I was astonished. How could my rab turn my life in seconds?
Much to my dismay, I had to sleep alone. Even if I wanted nothing else in the world but to sleep in his arms, I couldn't.
The rule was simple. Make him desperate!
The warmth that seeped into my heart when he confessed his love for me was spellbinding. I couldn't get enough of it. Call me stupid but I wanted to hear it again and again.
I could barely sleep at night. I was practically squealing on my bed from time to time.
I offered Fajir and slept after it. I woke up around 8.30AM and the delicious aroma of Machboos and kebab hit my nostrils making me inhale deeply.
Are we having guests today? But I wasn't aware of it.
I took a shower and hurriedly changed into some comfortable clothes. I decided not to wear hijab in the house from now on.
I followed the tantalizing and tempting aroma and of course it came from the kitchen. So without wasting more time, I splintered towards it.
As I entered the kitchen, the first person I saw was Nabiha. She was sitting on the kitchen counter and having an apple.
The second person I saw had my breathing hitched. Inhaling sharply, my hesitant gaze stared ahead. Landing on the tall figure who was easily recognizable from any direction. At the present moment, it was his back that I was facing. He was wearing a white shirt which was slightly transparent and a black lower below. He had his one hand resting on the counter and he was almost leaning to it, while he held the metal skewers tightly in the other hand. He was making kebab.
"Do you think she will like it?" He questioned hesitantly as I blushed like an idiot.
"Of course bhai. Trust me, she loves Machboos and kebabs. I am sure the sakhana would be delicious too." I stood by the door and heard their conversation regarding the Omani cuisines that Humza was cooking, apparently for me.
My palms began to sweat. He was doing this for me. He was really trying so hard.
"I am dependent on you girl. Hopefully... " He was in mid sentence when I coughed making my presence known to them.
Nabiha immediately jumped off the counter while Humza turned around abruptly, straightening his posture. His eyes scanned me from head to toe while I did the same. The side of his mouth twitched into a gorgeous smirk enlightening my world.
"You are finally awake." Nabiha smiled and I barely nodded my head. I ambled further into the kitchen.
I am supposed to be angry.
I regained my posture and walked beside Nabiha. "What are you guys cooking?" I asked while removing the lids from the covered pots placed on the counter only to find sakhana in one of them while the others were still empty.
"Well it's not me. It's your darling husband who decided to cook for you." She chuckled deeply and no matter how much I wanted to squeal, I didn't.

I felt his scrutinizing gaze on me but I avoided meeting his eyes.
Make him desperate. I chanted in my mind. "So what else is there?" I clasped my hands together as I waited for Nabiha to enlighten me. I wanted to hide my happiness.
"Ask your husband. I'll leave now." She rolled her eyes at me before leaving me alone with him.
I turned around to look at him but he was busy cooking. Watching your man cook is such a turn on. His hair was messy and I wanted to caress it's silky strands. I Waited for him to say something but he didn't. "So anything special today?" I finally spoke again while leaning back on the counter and folding my hands to my chest.
"I am cooking for you." He walked to my side and took the empty pots with him. He began to fill it with the kebab that he had been cooking.
"Don't you think it'll be too heavy for breakfast?" I walked beside him to help him.
"I know but Nabiha said you liked it." He replied sweetly. "You didn't have to do this." I said.
"I want to make it up to you. You are still walking around with my kiss." My heart rate sped up at his words and I felt heat rushing to my cheeks.
"Here let me help you." I began to take the skewers to empty it in the pot but he soon took it away from me. "You can't help. Just watch." He groaned and I gave it to him again.
"I am hungry. Is it done now?" The aroma was so tempting, I could barely stop myself from eating it like a hooligan.
"Yes! Why don't you try some?" He put forward the 4 pots and I hungrily plunged on it.
He gave me the spoon and the first thing I tasted was the Sakhana and honestly, it was the best soup I had ever tasted. I savored the taste without giving away my reaction. "Nice.." I mumbled and he sniggered.
"I didn't know you could cook." I further said while moving to the second pot and devouring its contents too. I tasted the Machboos next. The rice and meat were perfectly cooked. My mother used to make tasty mschboos. She used to make it for me. I kept aside the spoon and tasted the afghani chicken with my hands. The white gravy was too delicious. I wanted to moan but had to stop myself.
"Do you like it?" He looked at me with anticipation as I tasted the four dishes he had cooked. "It was good." It was excellent.
He smiled devilishly and shook his head as he moved forward. He was too close to me now. He took my hand in his, the one that I was eating with.
He licked my index finger, cleaning away the white gravy that coated it and I felt like I was on fire. "You are not a very good actor." He smiled, all this while his eyes were glued to mine.
"You can pretend how much you want to but I know how I make you feel." I felt goosebumps all over my body as I felt the wetness of his tongue on my finger.
He lastly licked my middle finger seductively and held on to it longer than he did on the other fingers.
"I love you." He kissed my knuckles and I looked away blushing hard. I was doing somersaults in my mind.

"Anyway what did you love the most?" You! I wanted to say.
He let my hands go and I immediately felt empty. "I.. Uhhh.. Liked the machboos very much. My mother used to cook it for me and I loved it. Ever since she was gone I had to cook it for myself but thanks for doing it today. It means a lot to me." I confessed. He turned around and went near the sink to wash his hands.
I waited for him to say something but he said nothing for about 2 minutes. "I just forgot some work. I'll be leaving now and will be back by the evening. Eat your breakfast and be ready by 7pm, we have to go to Ahmed's. Okay?"
"Can't you wait till breakfast? Let's have it together." I asked hurriedly as he started moving towards the door.
"I can't. It's important." He said without facing me. Was I being too harsh?
But he barely tried. He left without another word. His mood swings give me a kind of whiplash.
I had my breakfast with the others as Humza was gone. I waited for him to come back sooner but he came back in the evening, just like he had said. He had bought a beautiful dress for me. It was a two piece. It had shades of pink and alluring golden sequences decorated it near the neck and the three-quarter sleeves. It was a beautiful one, like the ones that I had seen on television. Maliha had given me the bag in the evening saying that Humza had asked me to wear this tonight.
Later that evening, I was almost ready when I heard a knock at my door. I opened it to find Humza adjusting his tie. He was no more grumpy and he looked extremely gorgeous in his chocolate color tuxedo. He wore a white shirt underneath which made him look even more charming. He scanned my outfit and gave me a look of approval. "So are you done? Let's just leave now." He said shoving his hands in his suit pockets.
"I just have to apply some make up. Can you wait?" I asked nervously. "Of course." He smiled and I scurried back near the mirror.
I chose the cherry red lipstick and as I looked in the mirror to apply it, I saw him sitting on my bed. His eyes were glued to my every move. I thought he'd leave.
"Are you going to watch me?" This was so uncomfortable. "What's the problem? I always wanted to know how exactly you girls do it. I have seen mother doing it a couple of times too but never had the time to watch it till the end." I couldn't understand if he was making fun of his mother or genuinely confessing it.
"Go ahead. You can continue." What do I tell him? That I didn't know how to apply an eye liner or a mascara and my stupid sister wasn't yet in my room to help me with it.
I turned again and applied some lipstick. I don't know what exactly was I doing but I just kept on lightning my lipstick and then darkening it. I looked at him from time to time through the mirror waiting for him to snap at me just any moment but I was amazed as he didn't. He just stared at me.
"You don't know how to apply the other things? Do you?" Great! I am good for nothing and now he knows it too.
"I just don't know how to apply the mascara and the eyeliner." I huffed. "What else have you even applied?" He chuckled as he raised himself and walked to my side.
"Here, let me help you." I stared at him with wide eyes. "You'll help me?" I questioned.
"Yes, I have seen mother doing it. I can do it for you." I didn't believe him at all but he could apply the mascara. Right?
"You don't have to do it. I'll just call Nabiha."
"No it's fine. I want to do it."
"Okay. Do you know how to apply a mascara?" I can't believe I was making him do this.
"What's a mascara?" He tittered.
"Humzaaaa." I groaned and he laughed.
"See, I don't know the names. Just give me the product and I'll tell you if I know how to apply it." Trusting his words the first thing I gave him was a mascara.
He opened it and looked at it for a couple of seconds. "Hahh! I know this one has to be applied on the eyelashes. I can do it. It's easy." He chuckled while opening it. He began to bend and I interrupted him.
"Humza I am trusting you with my make up. Please don't spoil my face." I almost begged. "I got it Joonam." He reassured and I looked away blushing. He made me sit on the bed while he stood right in front of me. He leaned down to apply it but again moved back. "What?" I asked him quizzically. "Hold this." He handed me the mascara. He then removed his tux and placed it on the bed. He began to roll the sleeves of his white polo shirt and I wondered what he was doing.
"Now give it to me." I did what he said. I wanted to laugh so much when he placed his left knee on the bed next to where I was sitting and leaned in. I had to remind myself that if I laughed, it was my face that was at stake.
I followed his instructions when he asked me to look up or down. He pushed my eyelashes up with light strokes. He was doing it with so much concentration that I wanted to laugh my heart out. His mouth was left slightly ajar as he did it. It was a scene to watch.
"Wao! I can't believe Humza you've got make up skills too." I heard Huzaifa say. Humza moved back instantly, his cheeks slightly red now.
Humza glared at him and it was even more embarrassing for me. Nabiha giggled beside him suppressing her laugh as much as possible.
"I was just helping." He shrugged. "Give it to me bhai. I'll do it." Nabiha took the small bottle of Mascara and Humza unrolled his sleeves before wearing his suit again. He then moved towards the door.
"I'll be waiting down." Humza smiled at me while moving past Huzaifa, not before hitting him with his shoulder purposely. "Do you know that you make him do weird things?" Huzaifa chuckled and I found myself blushing.
"Huzaifaaaaa." I heard Humza's voice from the corridor. "Apparently, your husband isn't the same with everyone." He chuckled before leaving me and Nabiha.
"You made him do that?" Nabiha laughed as she began to apply things I didn't even know the name of.
"He offered help." I couldn't help but snigger. "Even if it was just one eye. He did it pretty good." she appreciated.
"At least he is better than me." I laughed.
How can I not forgive him?
"So you won't let me kiss you?" He seethed.
"No." I said it clearly as I moved further away.
"You sure?" He asked again, his anger quite evident now.
"Yes." I replied hesitantly, my resolve slowly cracking.
"Fine now don't blame me." he spat before taking long strides towards me. I moved back as he advanced. Before I could process things, he already shoved me back to the wall, towering my petite form and capturing my lips with his in a searing kiss.

A Girl and Her Food
When a lost girl wakes up without a name, she quickly finds herself alone in a way that people around her can’t fix. Without a real plan and desperate to find what’s wrong with her, she thrashes and bites to stay alive. But human beings are weak things, that band together for strength, no matter who we are. Now if only she could work up the courage to ask one question... It’s normal to get stronger when you drink the blood of monsters. Right? Things to expect: - A powerful but kinda neurotic and emotional protagonist, with some degree of weak to strong. Or maybe strong to stronger, honestly. She's pretty rational and practical about things but won't always make the best decisions, so be warned if you super-dislike characters doing dumb stuff for emotional reasons sometimes. - Lots of dialogue and characterization, especially as we get more into it. It's focused on a single POV, but there might be some sections of other POVs later on, I'm not sure right now. - Magic is on the softer side, but I'll try to keep things fleshed out enough to avoid any obvious "well-established magic could have seemingly instantly solved this problem" moments. - I didn't add the mystery tag because I feel like it implies that this is a detective novel or something, but the story is absolutely incredibly opaque at times. So you'll have the most fun if you go into it trying to puzzle out the nature of events before they're explicitly explained!😇 - Also, I added the genre for completion, but it's gonna take a while to get to the romance. Please wait warmly and have some tea. Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!
