Don't blame me for the shortness though. 😘
Uzair turned abruptly tugging and heaving me behind him. I quiver in trepidation with fear of my dream coming true. The gun was still pointed towards Uzair. Huzaifa and his other men stood behind him.
"Hum.. Humzaaa I can explain." I stuttered but was shunned as soon as he placed his index finger on his lips.
"Shhhh! just don't say a word. I don't want to hear your voice. It will only increase your sufferings." He spat with malice and rancour.
"Don't you talk to her like that. I swear I wouldn't think before killing you." Uzair replied with an equal spite and bitterness. Humza only snickered.
Finally I had someone who stood up for me. I looked at Uzair with affection and that seemed to have ticked something off in Humza's brain.
"Get away from him woman." Humza snarled, shaking his pistol from left to right. His cold response instantly doused the small flame of happiness lit within me, replacing it with a poisonous terror.
My sudden silence had him chuckling, His chortle only added to the already building fear inside me, making my skin crawl.
I knew how Humza worked and I knew he wouldn't think before shooting Uzair. But I can't let that happen ever.
At once I moved away from Uzair who seemed to have been taken aback.
"Good. I'll deal with you later." His eyes pierced through mine. They held a promise and I felt myself cowering back a little.
"Now what do we do with you?" Humza walked a full circle around Uzair. By now I was trembling with fear but Uzair, he seemed to be unfazed, his eyes still settled on me.
"Listen I have no grudges against you. I just want to take her back. I just.." He was heckled as Humza began.
"Tsk tsk.. You are not supposed to say anything until and unless you are asked to. So now first tell me your

your name." This was the moment I dreaded the most and wanted the mother earth to swallow me in.
"Uzair Imam." Humza's eyes snapped to me. His eyes darkens and lours to the extent that I could only find myself fearing him all the more. He gritted his teeth as his hands too curled up into a fist.
Ya ALLAH please save Uzair.
"I see. What's your relation with my wife? How do you know her?" He further catechise.
"We have practically grown up together. I am her cousin." Uzair replied without any sorts of fear.
"Now have You ever thought about a death wish?" Humza sniggered.
"Humza listen to me. He has no fault in this. Trust me he doesn't know." I hoped he understood the underlying meaning in my words. He shook his head.
"Did I tell you to speak?" He questioned.
"Humza stop this now. He is her family." Bibijaan spoke and I had almost forgotten that she too was here.
"Please go inside. I don't want you to see this." He ordered.
"I am not going in. Leave that boy. Let him go home. Don't you understand he is her family." Humza let out a bitter laugh.
"Family? Does she have one? Oh wait, let me guess. Are you talking about the people who actually sold her to me? People who were so ready to throw her away from their Lives?" He spat and tears form sooner than I could think of. He was saying the truth. I have no family.
"I am her family. My parents made a mistake. I will return your money. Just let her go with me. I won't trespass your property ever." Uzair explained.
"Too bad I don't want the money now and well you just trespassed my property. Now you have to pay for it." Humza's voice was sharp. He motioned something to Huzaifa and the next thing I know is he is taking Bibijaan and maliha back into the room despite the many fits thrown by them.

"Humza I'll do anything. Just don't hurt him. Please." I spoke, terror evident.
"And why exactly would I listen to you?" He cocked an eyebrow.
"I'll do anything. Just let him go back home. You can punish me." I repeated. My breathing was hitched. You could say I was panting.
"You don't have to do this. I can take you back." Uzair seemed to be scared right now. He has lost his mind.
"Don't forget your promise." Humza warned and I gulped in nervously. I could only manage to nod in response.
"You have got 10 seconds to run back boy." Humza spoke. By now Huzaifa was back too.
"Why are you doing this Anaabiya? Trust me I'll do anything I'll rescue you. I am not scared of death and I know neither are you." He seemed so frustrated right now.
"Maybe you'll understand that now." Humza spoke as the gun that was pointed towards Uzair was now aiming at me.
"Do you want me to kill her? Trust me I wouldn't mind doing that. She means nothing to me." Humza spoke casually. His words though cut my heart into halves.
I couldn't believe he could kill me that easily.
"Don't. Please, I am leaving." Uzair was terror stricken. I now realized it. Neither of us were scared of death. We only feared it for each other.
I looked at Humza with absolutely no emotions. Every ounce of my being now despised him. No, in fact I felt absolutely nothing for him. No love, no hatred.
"Lower the gun. I'll just go." Uzair started taking steps back. For a second I actually thought, what if I could leave this place with him?
Humza still held his gun tightly aiming at me. His eyes locked at me and I was looking at Uzair, savoring every piece of his being for I wasn't sure whether I would be seeing him again.
By the time he was near the door, Humza again called out his name.
"Uzair." He shouted. Uzair ceased his footsteps and looked at Humza quizzically.
My eyes widen as the gun that was pointed to me swiftly moved towards Uzair and before I could think of anything, Humza shot him on the right leg. Uzair collapsed on the floor clutching his legs, wincing in pain.
"Nooo.. You cheater." I almost ran towards Uzair when Humza's hand gripped my arm in an unyielding grip, not allowing me to take a step further. I struggled to set free but his hands didn't even budge.
"That's for touching her buddy." Humza chortled. Blood was oozing out from his right leg and I couldn't stop myself from crying. If Humza wasn't holding me right now, I would have collapsed on the floor.
"Take him to the hospital." Humza ordered his men who were now effortlessly carrying Uzair out. I don't even know if Uzair was conscious anymore. I cried and cried. The man beside me left my arms as soon as Uzair was out of sight.
"You are a cheat." I snarled.
"Really? What are you?" He spat back.
My legs felt like jelly as they wobble and made me feel weak.
"You promised me, you would let him go back home." I accused whilst crying.
"Well I did let him go back home but I didn't promise about his safety though and why are you overreacting? My men took him to the hospital. He is not dead." He spat with venom dripping from each of his words.
I don't know what churned inside my heart and where exactly did I gain so much courage and valour from but the next thing I know is that I slapped Humza.
And trust me it was the hardest and the most vigorous slap I had ever given to someone.
If you want another surprise. Make me happy please ♥
