《You, my Punishment (Islamic Story)》Chapter 12

I looked at him to see if he was serious. I couldn't believe my ears. When I didn't answer, his gaze changed into a begging one and I couldn't ignore it. I couldn't help but touching his cheek. He was looking so broken, like a little child. He leaned in to my touch and it reminded me of a lion.. What did he go through that made him like this?
"Please.."he said and that did it. I grabbed the Qur'an, opening a random page before I took the courage and started again. I read for hours and hours and he was just listening at me. He didn't say anything. He wasn't rude. He was just quiet, having ear for me reading. After several hours I looked up and saw that he fell asleep, sitting on the floor with his head on the couch. I looked out the window and the sunlight hit my face. I didn't even realize that it was the next morning. I looked back at Aneel. I ran my fingers slowly through his hair. I smiled at the softness. His face had a frown and I squeezed it gently away. He relaxed a bit before I woke him up to tell him that he needed to go to bed if he wanted to sleep.
"Aneel.." I said, still with my fingers in his hair. He moved a bit but slept further.
"Aneel, wake up" I said louder. He opened his eyes slowly and looked at me. Then he looked at where he was. He moved his head which made him hiss in pain. He looked like he was really in pain.
"What am I doing here?" he said, while rubbing his eyes. He held this angry gaze like he always had.
"I don't know, you came and slept there when I was reading" I said walking to the kitchen. I could see that he didn't remember and I didn't want him to remember. It was better that way anyway. He would be mad if I told him.

"Do you want some breakfast" I asked, making myself a cup of tea.
"No. I'm going out in an hour" he said while looking at the clock.
"Where?" I dared to ask, still having a little fear. I needed to remember that he wasn't his usual self last night.
"Business" he said and stood up, making his way to the bathroom. I sighed and thought about what I could do when he was gone. Maybe I could prepare dinner for us. After last night, I wanted to be on good terms with him. We would never be a real couple, but we could try to get along. We didn't even had to be friends. Just two people who can get along.
After I drunk my tea, Aneel came out of the bathroom all dressed. He looked at me and rolled his eyes and went out of the door. I sighed and made my way to the laundry room to get things ready for cleaning.
I sat on the couch, exhausted. This house was bigger than I expected. Which house has five rooms?! That is a hell when it comes to cleaning. I stood up and walked over to the fridge. I opened it and saw no food. Correct: no edible food. Vegetables were black and I think the milk was not good anymore. I walked to the bedroom and got dressed. After that I took some money my grandma left me, which my parents didn't know about, and made my way to the grocery store. I bought everything I needed and before I knew it, I started cooking. When I was slicing onion my eyes locked with the book. When I came out of the grocery store, a girl stopped me and gave me this book.
"Take this, it will help" she said and gave me the book. I took it in confusion. I looked at it before looking at the girl again, but she disappeared. I couldn't even thank her nor understand why she gave it to me. It was a book about Islam. 'Finding your way' was the title.

I took the bowl with the pasta to the dining table. It was late and Aneel must be heading home now. I was a bit nervous of his reaction, because I knew he wouldn't be happy. I sighed and sat on the dining chair. I waited and waited and it was getting late. Just when I was about to fall asleep the phone rang. I made my way over to the sound and answered the phone.
"Hello?" I said. Then I heard someone talking, very nervous and angry. It sounded more helpless.
"Sahra, listen you have to come and take me" Aneel said. I was confused.
"What's wrong? Where are you?" I asked. He said something that made me sink in fear. I was scared that something bad had happened and hoped that everything was alright.
"Police station" he said.

Fated Nirvana || Completed ✅
The Fated Series. Book #1. "A single minute without her in my arms and it felt like a lifetime." - Mateo Ramos My name is Mateo Adam Ramos. I was born into a family who's bleed for their reputation, and built us into being one of the most dangerous families to exist. You hear my name... you run. I for one am determined to continue upholding that reputation because that's in my blood. But things are never that simple, are they? Feeling and emotions got involved, and everything I thought I knew, vanished the second I met her. A soft souled, beautiful brown eyed girl who gleams with goodness found her way into my life. I shouldn't have played the good samaritan, that was my fault. I don't want to know goodness, and yet I'm drawn in like it's the light to cure my sins. This goodness has a name, and a face of salvation and I for one know I shouldn't get involved. Guess what I do? I get involved. Because even if I don't want too that's not really how fate works, is it? You don't pick and choose fates plan, you get slammed with it and good luck to your poor soul. This is my story, the kind that was written years before I was even born, and now I'm living it. Watch me make a mess of it too, because after all, I wasn't born to follow. P.S. This book is technically #1, but I have a book before this one that's about their parents. You learn more, and get a clue about their parents and why they are the way they are. Some of the conversations in this book would make more sense by knowing the past. It's not as well written, but if you can get thought it, I promise you'll love this one even more. Of course if you rather start here, then you do you! It will make sense either way! I tired to fill in all the gaps without it getting overbearing. You can always hop back to the book before this after.
