《HER BLIND HUSBAND ( A Wattpad Featured Story)》CHAPTER SIXTY THREE

"It is said that a woman can either make a man's world move or make it stop. Ask yourself which woman you are- Amalkhan807.
Bickering!
Loads and loads of bickering.
That was one word that could be used to define Yasir and Yumnah's utmost beautiful relationship.
It was something they both loved doing and it was also something that most definitely brought them more and more closer to each other, every single day.
The middle aged ice cream vendor smiled to himself, memories of his early married life flooding back as he amusedly watched the cute couple in front of him bicker their hearts out, over who was to pay. They had been going at it for the past five minutes but he just didn't have the heart to tell them to stop.
"Yumnah!"
"Yasir!"
"Yumnaaaah."
"Yassiiir."
"Why can't you just be nice for ONCE and let me pay?" asked Yasir as he once again tried to open his wallet only for his wife to forcefully hold on to his hand, almost as if her life depended on it.
"Because I want to pay," she replied while rummaging through the gazillion things in her handbag in search of her purse.
"But why?"
"Because!"
"Because is not even an answer Yumnah."
"It is. It's a one-word answer," she said as she finally pulled out her purse, a huge Cheshire like grin on her face.
"A one-word answer with extremely no logic. I should be the one paying Yumnah. I am your husband REMEMBER? The one you married? The one man who should be PROVIDING for you?" he asked, his voice full of frustration.
"Of course I REMEMBER Yasir but it's just that I have some kind of extra money with me that I want to spend," she said and laughed when she saw him roll his eyes.
"How do you even have extra money when you barely take any from me?" he asked while trying to loosen her tight grip from his hand.
"Baba gives me money..."
"WHAT?" he immediately hissed and she once again laughed when she saw his facial expression totally change.
"Since when?"
"Since forever!"
In a flash, Yasir shoved his wallet back into his pocket and then turned in the supposed direction of the ice cream vendor, held out his cone back to him and said...
"Please could you kindly add FOUR more flavours to this cone? Umm, chocolate, strawberry and any other two flavours that you got? And by any chance could you be having whipped cream? If you do please could you add it to the very top?"
"Yassiiir," Yumnah shrieked, half laughing at her husband's antics.
"What?"
"I didn't agree to pay for the whole ice cream van!"
"And why not? You are rich Yumnah. When will you learn to stop being a miser?" he asked as he happily began to lick his ice cream, Yumnah being dead sure that half his happiness was not because of the ice cream itself but because it had been bought using Hitler's money.
As they walked away, the ice cream vendor couldn't help but smile at the sight of the two where Yasir held tightly on to Yumnah's hand as she guided him and even as they walked away, the two did not stop arguing, the last part of their conversation him hearing being the part where Yasir called Yumnah a traitor!
"I am not a traitor, Yasir."
"Then why didn't you tell me that Hitler gives you money? Like for how many months have we been married now?"

"But Baba made me promise not to tell you..."
Yasir remained silent for a while, a very pretentious disappointed look on his face after which he said while pointing towards himself...
"When will you learn to set your priorities straight Yumnah? When will you learn to stop choosing Hitler over your poor husband?"
"You have never been a priority to begin with," she joked and laughed upon seeing him place his hand over his heart feigning hurt.
She then helped him sit on one of the benches in the park just a few metres away from the masjid and immediately rolled her eyes when she heard him ask...
"Sooooo, keeping priorities aside, when do you take me for a holiday to the Bahamas?"
"Never!"
"Wow, so the minute you start getting money from Hitler, you start treating me badly? Nice! RICH PEOPLE PROBLEMS, I see..."
"YASIR, come on," she said as she burst out laughing and she ended up laughing even harder when he laughed along with her.
They both then remained silent for a while, happily eating their ice creams, until Yasir asked...
"Can I ask you something important Yumnah?"
"Of course, what is it Yasir?"
"Could you be knowing if Baba also gave Zulekha...I mean like did she also get money from him, you know her being Akhi's wife...," he said struggling to find the right words since it was a sensitive topic for him at the same time not being able to forget the part where Zulekha had claimed that Yumnah got more preference than her.
"Yasir..."
"Yeah?"
"Baba would never discriminate. He always gave us money together during the family dinners and as far as I know, we both got the same amount of money," she said, squeezing on to his hand to assure him.
"Oh!" was all he could say, respect for his father growing even more.
How could he even have doubted him?
"One more thing...like...about Akhi...what do you think Yumnah? Please do not answer this as my wife but try answer it like any other woman out there," he said and Yumnah did not miss seeing the growing fear in his eyes.
"What about Hisham?" she asked.
"Do you believe in what people say about him?"
"What do people say about him, Yasir?"
"You know... when they say that he... that he... is..."
"That he is an abuser? That he used to beat up his wife? That he tried to kill her?" she asked and watched how his face grew pale with every accusation.
"Yeeeeaaaaahh," he stammered, his voice laced with hurt.
"NO, I DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY, YASIR!"
"Are you saying that because you are my wife?"
"No, I am saying that because of the Hisham I always knew, way before I even married you. I know the Hisham that used buy big boxes of cupcakes every month and bring it for the kids at the madrassa. I know the Hisham that volunteered at the old peoples home every Saturday, I know the Hisham that did so many right things that my heart refuses to believe these false baseless accusations that are being spread around."
"But he confessed...," whispered Yasir.
"Confessed what?"
"He told me that he did hit her."
Yumnah remained silent for a while completely overcome by shock but then quickly sobered up.
"Did he tell you why he hit her?" she asked.
"Does it matter?"

"It is wrong to hit a woman Yasir, I agree but there are always two sides of a coin. I refuse to judge until I hear Hisham's side of the story," she said wondering as to what grave thing Zulekha must have done that it took someone like Hisham to raise his hand at her.
Yasir then took her hand, brought it to his lips and said...
"Thank you Yumnah. You have no idea how much your opinion matters to me Habibty."
"I will always be there for you Yasir," she said once again tightly squeezing his hand.
She then moved closer towards him, laid her head on his shoulder and said...
"Yasir?"
"Yes, my love?"
"I am still craving more ice cream. Can we go back and buy two more cones?" she asked and smiled when he lovingly placed his hand on her tiny bump and asked...
"Pregnancy cravings again?"
"No doubts!"
He then held out his cone for her to have and she immediately shook her head.
"No, it's okay. Let's just go buy a new one...it's not that far...in fact if you wait... I can even run...
"Yumnah..."
"What?"
"First of all, I will choose to ignore the part where you said run, secondly, I never planned on eating all these flavours by myself. I know you keep feeling hungry and I purposely got this for you and me and of course yes, I also wanted to use Hitler's money," he said handing her the ice cream which she took gratefully.
"Thank you, my love."
"You're welcome and now at least you are a hundred percent assured that I love you more."
"Oh please!"
"Of course I do."
"How much more?" she asked and Yasir's next answer literally left her eyes as wide as saucers.
"Let's go back to the cottage and I PROMISE to literally show you how much more," he said and Yumnah immediately chocked on her ice cream her face turning beet root red.
"Yassiiir," she hissed, quickly looking around, hoping no one had heard him.
"What?"
"Astaghfirullah," she said as she hid her face behind the ends of her hijab not believing what he had just told her.
"We are married Yumnah," he said, half laughing when she playfully hit him.
"What if someone heard you and they are now sending us disapproving looks?" she asked, her heart beating thunderously against her chest.
"Tell them I said HI..."
"Yasir!"
"Yumnah!"
"You are despicable."
"Take that back," he began but stopped when he heard the adhan.
They both stopped talking as they intently listened to it while inwardly reciting along with it. They then got up a few minutes after it got finished, slowly making their way towards the masjid. As they got nearer to the Masjid's gate, Yumnah's stomach let out a loud rumble and Yasir couldn't help but laugh.
"MashAllah, seems like we are going to have a healthy baby, aren't we," he asked, a huge smile on his face.
"Seems like. I hope it's a cute and chubby baby boy," replied Yumnah, a dreamy look on her face.
"You mean girl?"
"No I mean boy."
"Girl."
"Boy."
"Girl."
"Boy."
"Okay fine, how about we go back to the rumbling? Let's not cook today okay? Let's eat out," said Yasir and Yumnah eagerly nodded her head.
"And since you will be the one paying, I wonder if there are any 5 star hotels around here," added Yasir and Yumnah quickly slapped his hand.
"I am not paying, Yasir."
"What? You can't just go back on the pact we made, okay!"
"What pact?"
"The pact of using all of Hitler's money plus I always wanted to know how fish tastes like in a 5-star hotel," said Yasir a distant look on his face.
"Fish tastes the same everywhere, please," said Yumnah while rolling her eyes.
"Whatever and anyway how would I know...I am not the one who is rich now, am I?"
"YASIR..."
"Yumnah..."
"Go away," she said and smiled when he literally stuck his tongue out at her as a brother from the Masjid helped guide him towards the men's side of the masjid.
Yumnah watched as her husband walked away, one thing being for sure...
That she was madly in love with this man.
Her husband.
Her Blind Husband!

AMAL'S WARNING: CHEESINESS AND KIND OF MATURE CONTENT AHEAD!
Yumnah closed her eyes tightly, her heart racing against her chest the minute she felt Yasir wrap his arms around her waist his chin resting gently on her shoulder. Tiny tingles shot across her entire body when she felt him feel for the end of her hijab and slowly begin to unwrap it, his hot breath now fanning the skin on the exposed part of her neck.
He then slowly turned her around to face him and smiled when she shyly hid her face on his chest her hands tightly clinging on to his shirt.
"Yumnah?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper.
"Yes Yasir?" she too whispered, holding onto him even tighter when she felt him place a light feather like kiss on her head.
"You know what I think?"
"What?" she asked, her heart pounding harder than ever before.
"That you are the most beautiful woman ever," he once again whispered, the hugest smile ever gracing his face.
Yumnah immediately lifted her head to look at him only to be met with the most beautiful twinkling hazel eyes that held so much truth that she could not get herself to doubt whatever he had said even for a single second.
She gently passed her hand over his beard and a smile lit up her face when she saw him smile lovingly back at her.
"I am not sure if I have ever told you this before Yumnah but you are really very special to me my love. There was a time when I didn't want to get married because I thought I would be a trial for the woman who marries me but you, Yumnah...," he said, while caressing her cheek with his thumb.
"You proved me wrong in so many ways, you have absolutely no idea. Right from the day you walked in to my life as my wife, every single day as been nothing but amazing and I honestly cannot wait to continue this journey with you by my side in this dunya and in the hereafter as well," he said as he once again kissed her cheek, his heart soaring when she too got on her toes and kissed his cheek as well.
He then with one hand slowly gathered all her hair and pushed it to one side, while his other hand lovingly cupped her cheek as he slowly placed kisses on her forehead, her cheeks, her nose and just as he got to her lips, he whispered...
"About that promise I made at the park, Yumnah."
"I...I...Yasir...," she stuttered completely out of words.
"I promised your father that I would keep all my promises and trust me Yumnah I am definitely a man of my words," he said and smiled when he heard her nervously laugh.
"But then this time Habibty, I want to make it even more special by doing this," he said as he lifted her bridal style much to her delight.
However, them being the couple they were it only took Yasir a mere couple of seconds to blurt out...
"You have to tell me what you eat all day Yumnah and it better be a whole list."
"Yasir!" she immediately shrieked while laughing her hands tightly clasped around his neck.
"Don't forget we are now TWO."
"Wow, leave it you to stoop to the level of blaming our baby. Never expected this from you Yumnah. I'm kind of disappointed honestly," he said and laughed when he heard her burst out laughing as well.
"I love you Yumnah," he said as he slowly carried her towards the bed, his heart beating thunderously against his chest when he felt her bury her face on the crook of his neck out of shyness.
Yumnah smiled to herself her love for Yasir growing more and more as she listened to him silently count steps against his breath. For someone else, him carrying her bridal style was no big deal but for her, it was everything.
First of all, since they had gotten married, he had never done it and secondly, he could always have chosen to do it while they were back at home where he was well aware of his surroundings but he hadn't. He had chosen to do it in a new place, meaning he had put in much more effort, meaning he wanted it to be really special and she couldn't help but think of how lucky and truly blessed she really was to have him.
Her thoughts were cut short when he gently placed her on the bed and sat beside her both their breaths extremely rugged.
"Yumnah," he whispered.
"Can I?" he asked, his voice laced so much love and respect for her that she couldn't help but bend forward and lovingly kiss both his eyes. Something she knew he immensely loved.
"With all the rights you have Yasir," she then whispered as she wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him closer towards her.
And that night, turned out to be one full of beautiful memories.
Memories neither of them could ever forget!

The Simulacrum
"He who fights with harem tropes should see to it that he himself does not become a harem protagonist. And if you gaze for long into a narrative, the narrative gazes also into you." --- Friedrich Nietzsche (probably?) How would you react if one day you woke up inside an environment running on tropes and clichés? For allegedly average high-schooler Leonard Dunning, this question became quite relevant when one day he woke up in a pristine city on a strange island in the middle of the Atlantic, without any memories, surrounded by classmates who are barely more than characterless placeholders, and with a classic indecisive harem protagonist and his impossibly beautiful love interests for friends. That would be hard to deal with already, yet his investigation into the tropes governing the world, trying to avoid harem shenanigans, and his odd blend of outside-context knowledge, unique abilities, and a penchant for causing trouble wherever he goes ends up dragging him into the center of the action anyway. Disclaimer: This is a tongue-in-cheek, slice of life romantic comedy, with occasional sprinkles of combat and mystery to spice things up. Please do not expect a straight up deconstruction beyond some in-universe meta-commentary by the characters.
