I rested my head on his shoulder breathlessly trying to find my composure as he rested his chin on my head. We stayed like that for a while losing all sense of time and getting lost in the moment.
Realisation hit me hard soon enough.
We kissed!
Our shocked gaze met eachother and I turned away quickly embarrassed.
Am I crazy?! What the hell did I just do!
"Sorry!" We both said in unison not looking at eachother.
"I.... I'll see to dinner." I quickly said and got up but the pain in my ankle made me falter. I fell into his arm making a current travel through my body.
"B....be careful. You should probably go rest. I'll call the doctor." He said looking away as I straightened.
"Ok." I just said not wanting to argue and increase the conversation and made my way put limping at times.
###
The next day, after a sleepless night in my separate room, I got ready to go to college. I met him at the dining table sipping his coffee while working on his tab and the memory of yesterday flashed through my eyes again....and....the pounding heart was back.
He was sitting in a navy blue suit in such a way like he owned the world, his sleek, muscles frame, his puffy hair slightly messy but totally sexy, the light beard on his fair skin complimented his jaw perfectly. Long fingers gripping the mug's handle, His brown eyes scanning the tab and those lips....
"Good morning!"
I jumped back to reality.
"Huh? Good morning." I smiled.
He really is a masterpiece....
The maid brought us the breakfast and I thanked her.
"Are you doing anything after college?"
I almost choked on my sandwich.
"Careful... careful...." He handed me the glass of water.
It's all your fault. I screamed in my head taking the glass.
"Um... I have extra lectures today till next week. We just got our Exam time table so." I said.
"Oh." He said nothing till we finish breakfast.
###
I was about to get out of the car as we reached the college gate but he grabbed my wrist making my heart jump to my throat.
"Naila listen."
Don't take my name like that...
I turned to him.
"Call me or give me a text when you get free. I'll pick u up. Let's go out for lunch."
Like a date?! Stop looking at me with those eyes.... I'll get a mini heart attack.
"Sure. I will." I said as coolly as I could. He then let go of my hand. Sadly.
I got of the car blushing and made my way to the college gate.
My body was in the office but my mind was stuck....at her. I could still taste her on my lips. She knows the truth yet she accepted me without judging me. I had given up hope of finding such a person in my life. I never thought I could be this happen again. Yesterday, I thought my heart was about to explode. The feel of her warm breath, the touch of her soft skin, those deep eyes, her almost inaudible moans and the gentle carasing of her lips on mine....
Allah! That girl's driving me crazy.
The time was running soo slow. I couldn't concentrate on anything else. I desperately wanted to see her again and I just kept waiting for her call. Any call I got I excitedly thought it was her but it either turned out to be from Desai or someone else. I was about to lose my mind now until ....she finally called.

Oh! the way we kissed....how is he such a good kisser?
"Naila!" Avanti whispered sternly from beside me making me jump.
"Where are you lost at? Stop smiling like that, the professor caught you twice." She warned. "You're face is all red too." She smirked.
I touched my cheeks which were aching now with all the smiling and were heating up. I got serious and concentrated on the board.
"Ooohooo Naila begum. You're in a good mood today." Farhan teased sitting on the desk is front of me during break time.
I couldn't help but blush like a tomato.
"Her face is red like a tomato since the minute she got in the class. Why? Did something interesting happened yesterday?" Avanti nudged joining him.
I bit my lip. Looking down blushing even more.
"Oooooooh." They both teased.
"It's not what you think." I said.
"Oh really? What is it that we think?" Farhan cooed.
Avanti slapped his arm....a little too hard. Ouch, that poor kid!
"Why are you always hanging around us and interfering in married women talks? Don't you have other friends? Go to them!" She scolded.
"Aw! Why do you always have to resort to violence. I pity jiju." He said rubbing his arm and pouting.
"How dare you pity my husband. Come here... I'll kill you today!" She said ejecting off her seat. He got off too ready to run while she chased him out of the class. I just watched then laughing till my stomach hurted. Ah, this Tom and Jerry duo. What would I do without them?
I checked the time, it was 12 pm, we still had an 1 hour lecture. I wanted time to end quickly but I knew it wouldn't. It was making me restless, I really wanted to see him right now.
What is wrong with me? Till yesterday I hated him enough to suck out his blood ,but now, I can't even bear to not seeing him.
I just took my bag and ran out before the professor came bunking the lecture. I went out and called him with my racing heart.
He was waiting outside the gate leaning on his car waiting for me. A huge smile came on my face seeing him from a distance which soon turned into an annoyed frown when I noticed the crowd of girls gathered around checking him out. I scoffed. Someone's quite popular!
"OMG look at him he's soo fricking hot!....Look at his car!.... Isn't that Kaif Alam?..... He's rich and sexy too.... OMG he's Christian Gray IRL..... I can look at him all day....look at that body....Oh My! I'm swooning...!"
Don't these girls have anything else to do then gawking at someone else's husband like that? And look at him enjoying all the attention like that! Men will be men! I scoffed.
I stormed towards him pushing through the crowd. He waved at me as he saw me. Many heads turned to me.
"Oh, so she's his wife....not bad.... she's pretty too....not that pretty...."
I ignored them all and walked towards his. I grabbed his hand and began walking away from the gate leaving the car behind, away from all those jealous bitches.
"Where are you taking me Naila? The car is...."
"Kaif, we are taking an auto today and I'm planning where we go. Got it!" I almost ordered him cutting him off. He looked at me amused.
"Ok."
"You've never been in an auto before have you?" I asked.

"Uh...." He began thinking.
I shook my head hopelessly.
"Forget it. Today is your lucky day. Let me introduce you to the lifestyle of us middle class folks, but before that take off your expensive coat, tie and watch and hand them to the driver."
"Why?"
"Because if you wanna experience the middle class life then you need to dress like one. Although, that shirt, pant and shoes are still too expensive to be called middle class." I wrinkled my nose.
He chuckled.
"Alright, as you wish."
He did as I asked and we took the auto setting on our adventure...
We are.....at a restaurant. I think. WTF!
"Oh, let's sit here." She said pointing at what looked like a steel table and wooden desk.
"Where?" I asked confused.
She went and sat on the not soo clean table. This restaurant or... whatever hardly has 5 tables. There is 1 fan that looks like it would fall anytime, and 2 middle aged women run this. One in the tiny kitchen and other as a waiter. She pointed in front of her. I gave her a nervous smile carefully making my way across the small gap between the table and seat sitting in front of her. The table has yellow stains on it. I might throw up.
"Kaki doon misal pav ghya ki." (Aunty take 2 (orders of) misal pav)
"Haa aanyte." (Yes bringing.) Came the answer.
"You can speak in marathi?" I asked impressed.
"Obviously, I'm a Maharashtrian." She answered proudly. "Can't you?"
"I can somewhat understand it, but I've completely forgot to speak." I shrugged.
The woman turned over 2 steel glasses that were already on the table and was ready to fill with water from a steel jug...in a not soo friendly way.
"Kaaki, Bisleri aana tyaña anni malaa ek Sprite 25 wali." (Aunty bring a Bisleri for him and a 25rs sprite for me) she said smiling excitedly like a school girl.
Although this place was highly inconvenient for me, her smile was quite the consolation prize.
We were saved from the steel glases and my mineral water and her sprite was here. Within 5 minutes our MisalPav was here too.
"That was fast!" I said surprised.
She giggled.
My eyes widened to see the amount of red oil swiming over the thin plate and in the small section beside were 2 pieces of pav(bread) with half a lemon and chopped raw onion.
"Yummy. Let's dig in." Naila said rubbing her hands together.
"Wait!" I stopped her horrified.
"What?"
"Are you really going to eat...that?"
"Yes.... I've been dying to eat MisalPav." She said as if she was starving for days.
"You would probably die after eating that!" I murmured.
She tilted her head pouting.
"Oh come in. I challenge you it's the most delicious food you'd have ever tasted. Here.."
She took a piece of bread dipped it in the oily misal by hand and held it in front of my mouth. I made a face.
"Aaaa." She said.
I forced my mouth open looking at her unsure and she pushed it in my mouth. Oh, it was surprisingly tasty.
"See. Told you." She said reading my expression.
We finished our food talking and laughing about my office and her college.
The woman placed a small piece of paper on the table.
"It's on me." Naila said taking the paper. It was the bill?
She gave a 100rs note along with the bill to the woman.
"That's it?!" I said surprised.
"Yeah. Just 80 rs. Let's go on another adventure." She said.
As I left the restaurant, I thought of something.
"Let me guess, you're thinking about finding for this restaurant for renovation." She said.
I smiled. "You know me well."
"Hm. Maybe I do, but don't even try it. They won't accept a single penny from you...." She said as we stepped together in the crowded local train. It was my first time ever traveling in one. We had to hold hands so that we didn't seperate.
"Why?" I said trying to control my temper at the man pushing me. I pulled Naila closer to protect her. Her face turned red. How cute!
"Because their pride is more important to them then money. They'll work hard till even their bones are bruised but they'll do that on thier own accord.... without anyone's help. They enjoy it....It's their happiness."
"Is that so." I said.
We rich people spend millions but cannot find real happiness, how can these people find thier happiness in such little things?
We reached the Juhu beach, it was quite crowded. As we walked there she held my hand sending a current through her touch.
"So that you don't get lost." She said smiling. It made me smile too.
We took a stroll hand in hand without saying a word and just enjoying the breeze and observing people. The breeze was strong enough to fly her hair all over her place. She was struggling quite a lot with it. Seeing her made me chuckle.
"What are you laughing at? You men are lucky you don't have such long hair." She huffed.
"You have overly long hair. Ever thought about getting a hair cut?" I said casually
She gasped stopping in front of me halting my steps soo angrily as if a nuclear reactor would blast right from her eyes.
"Cut my precious, long hair?! Do you have any idea how long it took me to grow them soo long?!"
"I think we have had this exact same argument before too." I said
"That's why it makes me more angry." She said and stamped my feet storming away as I doubled over in pain.
"Aw Aw!" I limped behind her. Damn this girl is surprisingly strong.
She stopped in front of the roasted corn cart. Seriously?! We just ate.
"Buy me this." She ordered.
"Ok your Highness!" I rolled my eyes.
Women and their appetite is soo strange, sometimes they can't even eat 2 morsels but sometimes they eat like they haven't eaten for a month.
She desperately waited till that man handed over the corn (butta).
"Umm....yummy. My lips are burning." She said with her mouth full. I shook my head at this hopeless creature.
There were still 2 hours for sunset and were still at the beach. I really was enjoying this normal day with her and by the looks of her, she didn't wanted to go home either.
"Should we go boating?" She asked.
"You won't get sea sick right. I don't want to go through the same embarrassment again." I warned her and she scolwed at me.
"No!"
"Fine then. Let's go."
###
We sat on the sand watching the horizon change welcoming the beautiful sunset, listening to the waves crashing along with the chaos of the public.
She sighed heavily beside me.
"The day came to end huh.... I wish it was longer." She said.
"Why? Aren't you tired? We were boating for almost 2 hours." I said.
"And it was all soo much fun....with you. You're always soo busy with work and I have my exams soon. It would be a while when we can do something like this again." I looked at me smiling. Her face looked like it was glowing in the beautiful lights of the sunset. It made my heart skip.
"Then let's come back again soon after your exams, I'll take time off from work for you." I said gazing in her eyes.
"That's perfect." She breathed. I was unconsciously leaning towards her. It was like the winds were guiding me closer to her.
"You know what's more perfect?" She whispered.
"Hm." I was inches away from her lips.
"Kulfi falooda." She whispered.
"Huh?" I came back to my senses.
She was giggling like a little girl again. I sighed as she stood up.
"Let's go partner!"
I rolled my eyes getting up.
"Yes your highness."
After that, we took a Biryani parcel from a small restaurant and finally got back home thoroughly exhausted.
Nevertheless, this day became one of the most memorable day in my life.
###
In all this happy times that I thought would last forever, I somehow forgot about the lingering crises above our heads. I forgot that Naila was still in danger....that she had to be protected.
Because of my carelessness, I didn't realise, what kind of danger I was putting her in.
I never thought, that such a scary thing could even happen.....all because of me.......

Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

UPDATES TUES/THURS after chapter 5 Cover art by Tumblr User: @pigeon-princess This book features characters that are related to in many ways to my other novel "Grimoire". While both stories are their own stand alone series, Sun God's Corruption will add a good amount of depth to Grimoire, and Grimoire shows the unfoldings of the world that will eventually come from the events in Sun God's Corruption. I reccomend reading them both interchangably.
