It was two weeks until Christmas. To get everybody in a Christmassy mood, Professor Mcgonagall made everybody spend the morning decorating the castle in every last corner.

Hagrid brought in a 20ft tree to have in the Great Hall. Students decorated it with fake snow, house coloured baubles and lots of tinsel. There were reefs and holly along the castle walls next to the paintings.

Blaise and Luna were helping in the hall, Pansy and Theo were also helping, but in the classrooms.

Every classroom but Snapes, that is . He told students Christmas was 'a load of nonsense'. Very like Snape indeed.

Y/n though, she wanted to help out with Draco. She woke him that morning, hoping he'd be willing to do this with her. But, he said he was busy. Whatever Draco was up to was starting to get y/n suspicious. She didn't bother him though, she'd wait until her told her.

Y/n found herself out on the Wooden bridge, typing up dark green bows on the sides. She noticed Harry and Hermione were also there, but she had been avoiding them since they went to Knockturn Alley. She'd been avoiding everyone, actually.

As y/n looked down the bridge to see if they were still there, a tall red headed twin was walking towards her. Not only had she not seen him all year, she hadn't spoke to him since he shoved her in a cupboard and told her he liked her. Her heart rate quickened as she swiftly turned her head back around, pretending she didn't see him.

"Hello you" Said Fred, leaving his forearms over the sides of the bridge.

"Hi Freddie" She muttered. She was mirroring his actions, looking out onto the view.

He took a long deep breath in then back pig before speaking. "I know I've been avoiding you since last year, I didn't know what to say."

"It's okay Fred, really. I'm sorry I led you on at the ball." Memories of the ball came flashing back, how different things were two years ago.

"He's looking you know"

"I know I know" Fred replied, in a tone as if to say 'don't worry'.

"That's why I need you to kiss me" Y/N whispered.

"Wait what?"

"Just do it will you!"

So he leaned in and kissed her.

She doesn't enjoy it at all, it was only for Draco to see. They do this for a while and she can hear Ron whispering to Hermione

Fred started biting her lip and forcing himself on her a little more, so she ripped away from him in panic.

A loud bang came from the hall entrance, and y/n turned to see what it was.

It was Draco. He saw the kiss and walked out.

"Everything has changed since that night Bloodstone. You're with Draco, and I've got a girlfriend" Fred said proudly, a big grin on his face. Y/n snapped her head up to look at him.

"Who?!"

"Marianna. She's a girl in some of my classes. She's beautiful actually. I think I really love her" Fred droned on about his new girlfriend, but she couldn't hear him.

Why doesn't Draco ever talk about me like that?

As Fred was talking, a girl came running up to Fred, wrapping her arms tightly around him.

It's true, Marianna was beautiful. Her hair was naturally and beautifully straight and dark, her glasses sat perfectly on her face. She had freckles that made her eyes sparkle.

"We better get going. I'm glad we got to talk" Fred said. He said goodbye whilst Marianna gave a small wave, and they walked off the bridge.

"You okay Stoney?" Pansy asked in a concerned tone. Pansy, y/n, Theo and Blaise were sat at their usual table in Potions class listening to Professor Slughorn ramble. But there was a space missing next to Blaise.

"Draco isn't here again" She whispered back.

"Probably having a wank" Theo said. Pansy got her book and whacked him hard over the head, so hard that everybody turned to look.

"Dropped my book, turn around freaks" Pansy spat quickly.

Just as y/n was sat reading the textbook infront of her, Draco walked in. Her heart stopped when she saw him like it did every time. He will always be the most gorgeous boy y/n has ever seen.

"Nice of you to join us Mr Malfoy" Slughorn muttered. Draco ignored his comment and slumped in the empty chair next to Blaise.

"Because you are late again, Mr Malfoy, you won't know what's going on and neither does any of you on that table. No offence." Theo scoffed at his rudeness.

"I'll have you sitting at the Ravenclaw table please Mr Malfoy, next to Sian." Draco groaned in protest, slouched in his seat and ignored the girls on his table.

A sudden wave of jealously coarsed through y/n. Seeing all those girls fussing over him made her blood boil. As everybody was busy brewing their potions, her eyes was glued to Malfoy.

"Who is that girl? That's next to Draco" She asked.

"Sian Rose. Close friend of Lunas" Blaise answered.

Sian was...gorgeous. Her hair was practically golden blonde, her eyes were blue and her smile was bright enough to blind you. Effortlessly, she helped Draco as he sulked in the corner. Her delicate small hands kept touching his shoulder. Y/n felt jealousy bleed through her veins as she watched the smug bitch.

"She's flirting with him Pans. She's after my man. She's-

"Chill the fuck out! She's just helping him because we're all thick." Pansy put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.

"You really do love him, huh" Pansy whispered.

She's too good.

"WELL DONE MR POTTER!" Slughorn shouted.

Everybody gathered around the back as Slughorn stood with Harry at the front.

"Harry has managed to successfully brew liquid luck. Use it well m'boy" He gave Harry a small gold vial.

"Well that was a waste of a fucking hour" Y/n mumbled to herself.

As the evening faded into nighttime, y/n was sat with Draco in his dorm. She was reading a book tucked up into his arm as he absentmindedly played with her hair. She smiled to herself as she felt Dracos chest slowly move up and down, his heart beat faint in her ears.

"Can't believe it's nearly Christmas" She said.

"Mhm."

"Are you exited?"

"No."

She craned her neck to look up at Draco. He looked at her quickly with no emotion, then back to her hair.

"Why?"

"Because I don't see the point." She scooted herself to sit up and look at him.

"There is a point? It's all about family, and father always gets me what I want" She beamed.

Draco took in a deep breath before speaking.

"Christmas this year will be the same as it is every year. I get up, go downstairs to see Mother in the lounge waiting for me. Her eyes will be teary because she's most likely had an argument with Father, but she'll pretend everything is okay. I'll open what she got me, she'll open what I got her, then I go to my room. For the rest of the day. In the evening, I'll come down to a bunch of fucking random men at the table drunk as farts with Father. Mother will have gone to bed, so I'll go back upstairs and pretend today never happened."

She noticed his eyes were wet.

"Oh Draco I'm so sorry." She leant her head on his chest as his arm was tightly around her. He didn't cry, just let one or two tears fall down. Her heart broke into a million pieces for him.

"Did you say my father ?" She suddenly realised he said.

"No." He lied.

"Yeah-you did you-you said my father" She sat up cross legged to look at him.

"I didn't mean to say that y/n." His eyes looked worried.

"Father said he's away on work. Why is it that my father comes to the manor?" Her heart was beating rapidly.

"Scabior does come for a reason, but I can't be the one to tell you why."

He's hiding something from her.

"Draco. Tell. Me. Now."
