𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐱

𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙧 ,

𝙄 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙞𝙩'𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙄 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙃𝙤𝙜𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨. 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙨. 𝙋𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙖𝙛𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙛 𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙤 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙚.

𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙃𝙋 𝙭

Y/n couldn't believe was she was reading. Harry Potter was expelled from Hogwarts? They were never super close, they only shared a few laughs now and again but the news devastated her. Hermione, Ron and Harry had done an awful lot for her the previous year, so knowing she'd never see him again was upsetting.

Over the summer break, she had changed a little. Her hair was longer, her body had changed shape (she seemed to have some curves now) and she started wearing a little more makeup.

Occasionally, she wrote to Draco and he'd reply. They hadn't discussed the night of the Astromany tower since it happened. The pair weren't in a relationship, but there was more than just a friendship between them.

On the morning of the return to Hogwarts, she did her usual routine and headed for the train station with her parents. A certain blonde boy was waiting for her.

"Decided to be on time this year Malfoy?" She greeted him sarcastically, referring to last years event. They swiftly got on the train and headed to Hogwarts for their fourth year.

"Harry won't be here this year. He's been expelled" Y/n told the table.

"Good riddance to him I say" Pansy scoffed. Y/n looks at her with furrowed brows, but she shrugged it off.

"The ministry dismissed the case" Draco rolled his eyes in anger. She knew he had such a hatred towards him, but this didn't stop her from being his friend.

As the train came to a halt, the group clambered off and start making their way to the boats. Y/N spots a boy with brown hair and familiar glasses. But, she wasn't the first to spot him.

"I'm surprised the ministry is still letting you walk around free Potter. You better enjoy it while you can, I expect there's a cell in Azkaban with your name on it" He spat, making Harry launch him but Ron held him back.

"Complete nutter that one" Draco mumbled, walking away with a smirk.

"Please please 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 ignore him. He's insolent. I thought you weren't coming back?" Y/N asked, pulling Harry in for a hug.

"Ministry dismissed the case, only found out yesterday" He replied. Y/N shoots him an apologetic look as Draco shouted for her.

Nothing's changed in the Great Hall. The same whispering students, same glowing candles and the same five spaces missing. Everybody flopped in their seat waiting for Dumbledore to do his annual boring speech.

"Good evening fifth years and welcome back to Hogwarts. It is a delight to welcome you back home. Please can we give a warm welcome back to our usual staff" Dumbledore said, and everybody applauded in sync.

"We also wish to welcome our new defence against the dark arts teacher, Professor Umbridge. Our usual caretaker has asked me to remind you-" He was cut off by the new teacher, making peculiar noises in the corner. She strutted to the front, taking the spotlight.

"Thankyou, head master for your kind words. How lovely it is to see your bright smiling faces smiling up at me" Umbridge says. Everyone looked at each other with no expression at all.

"She's bloody bonkers" Pansy whispered.

"She looks like a walking bubble-gum. I'm not getting good vibes from her" Y/n replied.

After the weird speech from Umbridge, everybody ate their meal as usual and headed back to their dorms. Y/n opened the door and saw her owl with a letter in his beak, waiting for her to open it. She unstuck the sealed envelope.

𝓨/𝓝 𝓓𝓮𝓪𝓻, 𝓦𝓮 𝓱𝓸𝓹𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓼𝓮𝓽𝓽𝓵𝓮𝓭 𝓲𝓷 𝓷𝓲𝓬𝓮𝓵𝔂, 𝓫𝓾𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮 𝓲𝓼 𝓼𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓷𝓮𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀. 𝓐 𝓷𝓮𝔀 𝓽𝓮𝓪𝓬𝓱𝓮𝓻 𝔀𝓲𝓵𝓵 𝓫𝓮 𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓗𝓸𝓰𝔀𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓼, 𝓷𝓪𝓶𝓮𝓭 𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓯𝓮𝓼𝓼𝓸𝓻 𝓤𝓶𝓫𝓻𝓲𝓭𝓰𝓮. 𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓶𝓾𝓼𝓽 𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀 𝓼𝓱𝓮 𝓲𝓼 𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓲𝓷𝓼𝓽 𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓯𝓪𝓶𝓲𝓵𝔂 𝓷𝓪𝓶𝓮 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓲𝓼 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓼𝓸𝓷 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓷𝓸 𝓵𝓸𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓻 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓪 𝓰𝓻𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓯𝓪𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻. 𝓘𝓽 𝓲𝓼 𝓿𝓲𝓽𝓪𝓵 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓭𝓸 𝓷𝓸𝓽 𝓽𝓪𝓴𝓮 𝓱𝓮𝓻 𝔀𝓸𝓻𝓭𝓼 𝓽𝓸 𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓽. 𝓐𝓵𝓵 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓫𝓮𝓼𝓽, 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝓕𝓪𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻.

Her mouth hung open reading this. She knew when she saw Umbridge she was bad news. The note was thrown on the floor and she ran to Draco's dorm and knocks persistently.

"I did hear the first knock you know" He laughed, but his smile soon stopped as he saw her unreadable expression.

"This is bad, Draco I'm serious. Umbridge is involved in with...him" She whisper-shouted. Draco looked down, and it soon clocked why he was so quiet.

"Oh, and so are you. I forgot"

"I don't choose this life y/n! I wish I did! I'm sorry but I can't help you here. I could die if I went against anybody from the dark lord" He said apologetically.

She sighed and walked back to her dorm, not wasting her time arguing, she was on her own with this one.
