"Where the hell is my concealer?" Abby says. I catch her throwing my bedsheets around along with her clothes and my dirty ones on the floor in my mirror. "What are you talking about?" I ask as I apply my mascara.
She huffs and puffs, "I NEED MY CONCEALER!" she yells and I almost poke my eye with my mascara wand.
"You need to chill the fuck out," I say.
"I'm sorry!" She shouts, "I've been sleeping on an air mattress for 3 freaking days and my undereye bags look like shit!" I roll my eyes and continue applying my eye makeup, "Okay well would you rather cuddle in the same tiny ass bed? I don't know where you would've put it."
She continues huffing and puffing, "Amanda you used my concealer last and I left it right here!" she waves a hand to the kitchen/extra counterspace.
I spin around in my desk chair, "Abby I never touched your damn concealer. It's yours, not mine."
"YES YOU DID!" She yells. "Dude can you not yell? There are other people here and the walls are thin," I say and she flips me off. I've clearly pissed her off by the expression she gives me.
"IT'S CONCEALER!" I shout back, "IT'S NOT LIKE IT GREW FUCKING LEGS AND WALKED OFF!"
Before either of us speaks, Chloe waltzes in wearing jeans, a top that says 'Chanel' she purchased from target, and a Gucci belt she says she got as a Christmas present. She's barefoot as she pads into my room, holding a small tube.
"I used this. Thanks Abby!" Chloe says, placing the concealer on the counter by my Keurig and leaves the room. Abby and I sit in silence, not moving as we stare at the concealer tube.
"We're not gonna talk about this are we?" she asks.
"Nope."
"Cool," she says, grabbing the tube.
------------------------
The three of us catch a cab, laughing and fixing our hair before we make it to a small steakhouse where Landon made his reservation. It's formal which makes me glad I dressed less causal tonight. I chose on wearing a small leather skirt with panty hoes underneath, a longer black coat, and closed-toed heeled boots. It's chic, but not too much. Which is most of my closet.
Abby pushes the door open for Chloe and I, closing it behind her.
"Reservation for 4 under Vancheister," I say to the hostess at the front desk. She nods and leads us to the table where Landon is already sitting. He gets up as we walk over but Chloe runs to him, hugging him first.

"Hi!" She says, "I know I just saw you yesterday but still!"
"Don't worry about it," he chuckles. He looks to me next and pulls me in for a hug. His body is warm and he smells of the ocean. Odd, but for some reason seems like a very 'Landon' scent.
"Hey you," he says. I greet him back. "This is my friend Abby from TCU," I introduce them and Landon stops, eyebrows raising.
"Whoa," he says as he takes in Abby. Her smile grows a bit more, "Nice to meet you," she reaches out her hand and he takes it. From the look on his face, I'd say he was almost speechless. "Landon," he greets.
We all sit down. Chloe next to Landon who is in front of me and me next to Abby. "So," Chloe starts the conversation as we grab our menus, "what's good here?" Landon nods, "the garlic bread for one thing and d the mac and cheese is bomb."
My stomach growls at that. Abby is the next to speak, "any good drinks?" she asks. Unfortunately, we're all underage. But sometimes the menu offers virgin cocktails and Abby takes full advantage of those.
"With alcohol? I wouldn't know. The sodas are pretty average."
We all order drinks and bread for the table while Landon begins to ask Abby questions about herself. He looks confident and something tells me Abby would like him. A lot.
I don't know why I never thought of him liking her...
Abby tells us how she's attending TCU for a small start of pursuing writing. She hopes to one day move here and write columns of fashion and celebrities for Vogue.
Landon seems extremely interested with everything she says. She asks about him and we all tell her about how Cooper attracts more girls than Landon does. Landon laughs, almost spilling water from his nose. He tells us the story of how he found Cooper alone and cold on the side of a street in Queens during the summer he moved here.
It's... fun. I haven't had a small enjoyable moment of fun in a long time and being with all of them somehow makes me a little happier. We order and eventually had to force Chloe to finish her food because she was determined to eat her entire steak even though the play was in 40 minutes.
Chloe and Landon both catch a cab together over to the theater while Abby and I ride our own.
"He's hot," Abby whispers to me when the cab begins to move. "Why are we whispering? He's not here," I whisper and she slaps my arm.

"Shut it, I'm serious!" She says and I laugh. "Go for it then."
She opens her mouth but stops, "It wouldn't work, Mandy. You know where I live and I'm sure he attracts a lot of ladies."
She's got a good point. It would be cute though. His gentle personality and her fun, outgoing mood. Imagining them together isn't difficult at all.
Then again, who am I to speak? I can't even go two minutes without telling a guy to fuck off when they speak to me. Images of Carter flood my mind from today and for some reason, I feel bad for being a dick to him. But even so, he's distracting. And as my mother says, I do not need distractions.
"He's hot though, I wonder if he's freaky," Abby says and I shake my head to my dissipate thoughts and recall her words.
"I'm sorry, WHAT?" I ask and she flinches away in surprise at my tone. "What?" She asks defensively, "it's just a thought."
I try not to imagine Landon being like Christian Grey. He's attractive yes, but our friendship has grown to a point where I could never be like that with him.
Ew.
"Oh please," she rolls her eyes with sass, "you don't like a guy who knows what he's doing? We all do."
My mouth gapes open, "dude stop."
She laughs historically and I can't help but laugh with her.
-------------
Landon wanted to walk us back to the residence halls to make sure we got home safely after the play but now, he's twirling and dancing with Chloe as she sings 'Once Upon a December' on the sidewalk.
I wouldn't call it singing. More like yelling.
Landon says goodbye once we make to the residence lobby, giving Chloe and I hugs and shaking Abby's hand again.
"See you guys tomorrow night," Landon says and walks off towards the street to grab a cab. I feel extremely tired as we walk through the lobby doors and I cannot wait to sleep in tomorrow.
"Okay guys," Chloe says mid-yawn, "I'm off to get my beauty sleep. I'll see you girls tomorrow." She hugs and waves at us when before walking over to her door.
"You have the key?" I ask Abby. She pulls it out of her bag, "yep."
I watch Abby put in the key to unlock to door when I hear a snap. A sudden gasp escapes Abby's lips and she holds up the key so I can see it, her mouth still gaping open.
It's broken in half.
"What. The. Fuck." I say. Abby still remains gaping as she bends down to look at the lock. "It's literally stuck in there!" Abby exclaims.
"That's what she said," Chloe says with a chuckle behind me and I jump. Her door is open and her coat is off. "What's wrong?"
"The fucking key broke in the lock," I explain and hold my forehead in my hands. Of course this has to happen to us. How fucking covenant.
"Oh my god," Abby whines. She turns around and slides her ass down the door until it hits the ground.
"You're gonna have to get a new key and a new lock. I'd ask the head of the building about that," Chloe informs us. I look at her with a we fucking know that but now is not the time look and she purses her lips, shutting up.
"I mean y'all could come and sleep in here? But it would have to be on the floor," she offers. Abby looks at me. She's just as tired as I am. The worst part is she has to be up at 8 am for her school thing and she can't get any of her own clothes until we fix the goddamn door.
"Yes, please."
Chloe opens her door wider and I help Abby up from the ground. Chloe's dorm is slightly smaller than mine, but she's decorated it with some beige accents and white décor. It's fresh and classy. Whereas mine is slobby but has nice colors.
We take off some of our clothes while Chloe gathers as many blankets as she can find to build us a mattress type of thing for Abby and I.
"Guys! It's almost like we're building forts at a sleepover," Chloe says. Abby laughs and I stay silent. My eyes are so heavy I could fall asleep standing up.
Chloe turns off the lights and Abby and I cuddle together to stay warm under the blankets.
"I wanna be little spoon," she whines. "Are you fucking serious?"
She pouts and I turn around so I can hold her. "Goodnight!"
I feel the urge to kick her in the shin before falling asleep, but my eyes close fast and my world fades quickly.
