《How To: Get More Reads On Wattpad》The Suggestions That Couldn't Fill Whole Chapters
Advertisement
A few chapters back, I asked you guys for some suggestions for chapters and as you can tell, I've made quite a few of those suggestions into full chapters. But there were some suggestions that weren't really big enough to write whole chapters about but they were still important points. So this is a chapter where I give some advice on those requests that you guys gave in!
How To Make Contests That Will Attract People
Whether it be a writing contest or a cover contest etc, making a contest is hard. Attracting people to participate in it may be difficult as people might not see the benefits in entering your competition.
Here are my tips for attracting people to take part in your contest:
1. Follow loads of people as this means more exposure for your contest book.
2. Create a 'sticker' which the winner can put on their cover. I'm pretty sure there are some guides on how to make these- they are relatively straight forward to make I think.
3. Make your contests broad at the start so you can draw in people, and therefore get more entries.
How To Bring Two TV Shows Into One Book
I have never done this myself or actually read a book where this was done. But I think you don't need to be an expert to realise the key in making this type of book- everything has to be logical. There has to be a logical crossover as to why the characters from the TV shows have met or know each other.
Choosing two TV shows that are set in the same country and follow similar themes (e.g crime, humour etc) will make blending the shows together easier. Make sure you know the TV shows well.
How To Express The Opinions Of Your Characters (if they are not the same as yours)

If you have a character that has beliefs or opinions that you don't agree with yourself, it may be hard to make your passionate about things that you don't agree with. The main tip is to try and get in their mindset and understand that your character doesn't reflect you.
If you're writing a racist, homophobic etc character, watch a few videos of people who are racist, homophobic etc and try and pick up on how they think and speak.
Again, remember that your characters don't reflect you.
How To Come Up With A Chapter Name
Try and think of a main event or theme which is very prominent in the chapter, and condense that down into a few words. OR if you have a funny/ dramatic short phrase in the chapter, you could use that.
How To Reply To One Word Comments
"Update"
"Cool"
"Great"
"Meh"
This type of comments can be difficult to reply to as the author, but you feel inclined to reply to them. Here are some standard, textbook answers to common one word comments.
: "Update"
: "I will soon :)" or "I'll try to update soon"
: "Cool"
: "Thanks" (?)
: "Great"
: "Thank you so much"
Some comments don't really require a response so don't feel the need to reply to comments if there is no obvious response.
Why Does Linking Your Book To Reality Work?
Linking your book partially to reality or to real human emotions helps the reader relate to your book. If the reader sees something in the book which they experience in their everyday life, they will feel a certain connection with parts of the book.
Of course there are certain books where this is impossible, but displaying human and real emotions that people have will definitely help readers to be engaged with your story.

How To Believe In Your Story
It's easy to give up on a story. I know this first hand. You're probably confident in it until you post it and no one reads it. Or you only get a few reads. If you're like me, when you see your books getting little to no reads, your first instinct is to delete that book.
If you feel passionately about your book, and you love it, you won't just give up on it. You have to remind yourself that reads do not equate to the quality of your book, and that although you didn't get hundreds of reads in the first hour, that doesn't mean you won't get reads later.
I always say not to delete a book- I wish I hadn't deleted some of my work. If you believe in it, other people will as well.
Hope this has been a helpful chapter, these questions came up quite a lot on some chapters.

8 195The 48 Laws of Power in Practice
Discover how power works in the world, through true stories and real-world applications. In the game of power, we all play - as either conscious or unconscious players. So we can't afford not to know the rules. The ** chapters have the most outrageous content. In each chapter, I will be summarizing one of the laws and how it can be applied to current events and pop culture. Some of you have told me the stories are what you enjoy the most. They are real, raw, and anonymous so that others may learn from my mistakes. There will be cringe-worthy stories of self-sabotage, but perhaps also some unlikely triumphs. Some of the details are changed to protect the innocent, (or perhaps guilty). "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene illustrates truths about power, through philosophy and lessons from three thousand years of history, which still hold true today. There is a lot to learn from each chapter. I encourage you to go on this journey with me by reflecting on how each law might apply to you. Together, may we learn from the past and take control of the future.
