This is something I kind of talked about in other chapters but that was more focused on friends. This is a different type of mentioned. You see there are many books out there that provide services such as books covers, reviews etc and many people read those books. If you end up in one of these books you immediately have a platform to gain reads as people may want to know what your story is about. In cover books, I know I go onto the person's account to see what the book is about and in review books I check out the story's that are being critiqued.

Another way to get mentioned in someone's book is for a chapter to be dedicated to you, authors may dedicate chapters to supportive readers so vote and comment. However I'm not sure how many people click on the dedications in books- I know I don't.

Gaining publicity is the key to gaining reads- you just gotta get yourself out there.
