Day One Hundred and Sixty-Five

Verse: 'But Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'"

Matthew 19:26

Maybe right now, you are facing a circumstance that feels impossible. Maybe you are battling stress at work and/or school. Maybe you are struggling with a mental illness, chronic illness, cancer, or maybe you are batttling covid. No matter what you are going through, with God on your side, you can do anything! (Matthew 19:26)

As you all know if you have been reading my devotions for a while. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I have been living with constant chronic back pain for four years now. It hasn't been easy at all and it's still not easy. But a few weeks ago I prayed to God: "God I ask you to heal me of my pain. But even if you don't, I ask you bless me with peace, joy, and strength to make it through everyday." And you know what, ever since I have prayed that prayer, God has blessed me with peace, joy, and strength. I didn't just pray this prayer once and be done. I have been seeking God daily and been truly learning to live again. So even if you are facing an impossible circumstance, God can and will bless you with peace, joy, and strength to make it through it (Psalm 118:6).

Because in life, we are going to face circumstances that feel impossible. But with God on your side, we can do it! (Matthew 19:26) So how do we get God on our side? We first seek Him through reading His word, worshiping Him, listening to Him, and praying to Him daily. I know in our busy world it's easy to get to busy to spend time with God. But if you put in the effort to read your Bible and pray to God daily, He will draw near to you (Psalm 125:1-2). I know from my own life, that putting in the effort to seek God is totally worth it. God will bless you with whatever you need as you seek Him (Deuteronomy 7:9).

Then to have God on our side, we have to surrender EVERYTHING to Him. We have to surrender our worries, doubts, fears, job, school, our family, our friends, our finances, and surrender everything to Jesus. So how do you surrender everything to Jesus? You do it by praying: "God I surrender everything to do. (then list everything you are surrendering to God)." Here comes the hard part, then you don't have to worry or be afraid anymore because everything is in God's hand. And with your life in God's hand is the safest place to be (Psalm 33:4). So anytime you feel thoughts of worry, fear, or doubt in your head you have to stop that train of thought and say: "NO! I am NOT going to worry or be afraid because I have surrendered everything to God and in His hands are the safest place to me." So repeat that to yourself as many times as you need to because now that you surrendered and trusted God, you are free from all the chains that Satan has on your life! You are free in Jesus's name! (John 8:36).

Now with God on your side, and you surrendering everything to God, you can face anything! (Phillpians 4:13)

So keep going! Keep seeking Jesus daily and keep surrendering to Jesus daily and I promise you, you will be free! (John 8:36)

My friend, you got this! So go fight with God on your side!

Prayer:

Dear God,

I pray that as I seek you daily, that I build a close relationship with you. Because I know Lord that a close relationship with you is the best relationship to have. God I am also surrendering EVERYTHING to you (list everything you want to surrender). I surrender everything and leave my life in your hands. Because I know Lord that with my life in your hands, it is the safest place to be. Because with my life in your hands and with you by my side, I can and will do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I praise you for your goodness, love, and mercy. I praise you because you are such a good Father. I thank you for all that you have blessed me with.
