Day One Hundred and Fifty-Six

Verses: "But when you pray, go into your most private room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you."

How to pray.

How is your prayer life? I think we are honest, as Christian, we can really struggle with our prayer life. Sometimes we get so busy we don't have time to pray. Or we feel so down, anxious, depressed, angry, etc to talk to God. Or we did something and we feel too ashamed to face God. Or we just don't know what to say. No matter what your prayer life is right now, I am going to share my tips and tricks on how to pray.

1. Pray EVERYDAY!

In order to have a good prayer life, we do have to pray, and pray everyday. Sometimes I know I let busyness get in the way of my prayer life. So we need to make a commitment to God to pray everyday and actually do that. If we want a real relationship with God we have to spend time seeking Him through, prayer, worshiping, reading His word, and listening to Him (Psalm 121:1-2).

A question you might have is, what do I say when I pray?

2. Speak from your heart and be real with God.

Whatever you are going through, you need to talk to God about. No matter what it is you are going through, God wants you to talk to Him about it (Psalm 125:1-2). Even if you are mad or angry at God, He still wants you to talk to Him about it (Psalm 125:1-2). Also just say what is on your heart, you don't have to have fancy words, just speak from your heart. Talk to God about your day, even about the little things. God wants to be a part of everything in your life. So you need to talk about the little things too.

3. Seek God daily by reading His word, worshiping Him, praising Him, listening to Him, and praying to Him.

This week I have tried to wake up early and read my Bible and pray. Everyday I have done that, I had a much better day because I started my day right by spending time with God. Time spent with God is time not wasted. It's my favorite part of my day, to spend time with God. So I encourage you to spend time with God every day even if it's only ten minutes. Because God will bless you (Deuteronomy 7:9), comfort you (Isaiah 49:13), help you (Psalm 121:1-2), and be there for you as you spend time with him (Psalm 121:1-2).

Dear God,

I pray that as I pray everyday, seek you everyday, be real with you in prayer, and speak from my heart in prayer that I build a close relationship with you. I pray that I grow to learn more about you and grow closer to you. I pray that you bless me with whatever I need to make it through each and every day. I praise you because you are so good to me. I praise and thank you for your goodness, love, mercy, and grace.
