Verses: "But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also."

Put God first.

Do you put God first in your life?

If you don't know if you do put God first, let me ask you this question: "what do you do when you wake up in the morning?" Do you pray and read your Bible, or play on your phone? Another question my pastor asked my church: "when you have a problem, do you go to God or go to your phone?"

Honestly, God has been speaking to me about this. I realized that I haven't been putting God first in my life. If you haven't been putting God first in your life, that's okay. Let's start now and put God first.

I am sure you are wondering: "How do I put God first in my life?"

I am glad you have asked, here are my tips and tricks and how to put God first in your life:

1. Seek God daily by: reading your Bible, worshiping God, listening to God, and praying to Him.

In the verse above it tells us to seek God first (Matthew 6:33). One amazing way to put God first is to seek Him everyday by reading your Bible, worshiping Him, listening to Him, and praying to Him. Why should you seek God daily? So you can build a close relationship with Him. Because as you seek God, He will draw near to you (Psalm 125:1-2). Having a close relationship with God is the best relationship you can have. I can't tell you how much more joyful I feel after seeking God because as you seek God, He blesses you with whatever you need (Isaiah 49:13).

2. Praise God daily!

So Caty, what are some ways to praise God? Make a gratitude list and write down things that you are grateful for. Gratitude lists are an amazing way to praise God and thank Him for all He has done. Also worshiping God through singing and listening to worship music is also another way to praise God everyday. Because you can't worry while you worship. So lift your hands and worship God!

3. Spend less time on your phone and more time with God.

I know I am guilty of spending more time on my phone then talking with God. Let's put our phones down everyday, turn our phones off, and seek God. Because if you really want God first in your life, you have to make a commitment to God to spend more time with Him and less time on your phone.

4. When you have a problem or need to make a decision, run to God and not your phone.

It's really easy when we are stressed and dealing with problems to run to our phone instead of God. But you want God first in your life, you need to go to God first, not your phone. So everytime you feel stressed, overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, etc, run to Jesus by seeking Him. Because God loves you (John 3:16). He wants to be there for you, help you, and bless you (Psalm 121:1-2). But you have to go to Him by seeking Him (through prayer, worshiping, reading the Bible, and listening to Him).

So how do you put God first in your life?

1. Seek God daily.

2. Praise God daily.

3. Spend more time with God and less time on your phone.

4. When you have a problem, seek God.

Prayer:

Dear God,

I pray that as I seek you daily, praise you daily, and spend more time with you that you bless me with whatever I need. I pray that you wrap your arms around me and help me. Help me put you first no matter what. I pray that as I seek you that I build a close relationship with you. I want to be close to you Lord so I ask that you come into my heart and help me put you first. I praise you for your grace, goodness, mercy, and love. You are so good to me and I praise you Lord. I love you Lord.
