Day Ninety-Seven.
Verses: "I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High."
Psalms 7:17
Worship
Lately I have been struggling. I have been struggling with unbearable pain from fibromyalgia and now stomach issues. I am having a colonoscopy in a few weeks. I have also been struggling with depression and anxiety. I haven't been doing good. Maybe you are struggling too. Maybe you are battling a mental illness, chronic illness, cancer, stress, or maybe you have lost a loved one. No matter what we are going through: one thing I find that always makes me feel better is to lift my hands and worship God.
On Friday I was driving home from college and I just turned on my Christian Worship music. I prayed, sang, lifted my hands, and praised the Lord. So if you are struggling, my advice to you: read your Bible, pray, turn on your Christian music, lift your hands, sing, and worship God!
Worship is one of the ways that we can connect with God. You might feel awkward worshiping God, that's okay! Just keep worshiping Him and I promise it gets easier. If you feel awkward worshiping God in public then worship alone in a room or when you are driving alone in a car (but make sure you still focus on driving.)
For me, worship really helps me lift my eyes away from my problems and helps me focus on God and His goodness. Because God is so good (Psalm 31:19) and He loves you so much. (Psalm 136:1) He sent His only Son to die on the cross: FOR YOU! Because He loves you so much that not even death would stop His love for you. (Romans 8:38-39) (John 3:16)

One of my favorite quotes is: "God is good, even when life isn't." You may be in a lot of pain right now, I know I am. But we can always lift our hands and worship the Lord because He is worthy of our praise. God is always faithful. (Psalm 33:4) God is good. (Psalm 31:19)
Even when we are struggling we can always focus on God and worship Him!

Prayer:
Dear God, right now I am really struggling. But instead of focusing on my problems, I am going to fix my eyes on you and worship you. I need you Lord so please come to me and grab my hand. Please stay by my side every minute of every day. Help me grow closer to you as I read my Bible, worship you, listen for you, and talk with you. I believe in you Lord. I believe that you are good even when life isn't. I believe you are faithful and trustworthy. All the days of my life, I want to praise and worship you.
I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.
In Jesus's name, I pray, Amen!

Saturday Is a Good Day to Depart
Sometimes, when you wake up, you don’t find yourself in a house that you most definitely have never been in. Sometimes, mornings don’t start with something going down in flames. Sometimes, you are not given only six days until you die. But then again, it would be a completely different story. Seven people find themselves on an island full of odd creatures and places. This motley crew is given a deadline: unless they find a way out to escape their fates, they will die, one person a day. Each chapter encompasses a day, from Monday to Saturday. Release schedule is twice a week: Tuesday and Saturday. There are six chapters altogether, ending with Saturday. There’s no Sunday.

In a small neighborhood, a young man dreaming of peace and financial prosperity finds the adventure he never wanted. And it all starts with his death. Now in a new world, he wakes up to find the freedom he always wanted, and oh, so much more. With his new foster brother, Cinder the fox, he is determined to make a difference in the world with his new chance. But in order to acquire power, he must face against trials incomprehensible to simple mortals. Luckily, He's not alone. The story of Ashes and Cinders -Hey, Disclaimer: I'm a new author and this is a trial run. I'm super psyched about this story and am just writing it for fun. There's not really a schedule, although I do post somewhere around once every two days, maybe more if I have free time. I have no plan, no plot, no lore. Just figuring stuff out along the way. I hope you like it, and please give me comments and criticism if you find mistakes. It's what trial runs are for! :P ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you're wondering where I got my cover, check out This Guy From Fiverr They're really good.
8 56The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
