《Walking With Jesus A Daily Devotional》Day Forty-Four

Day Forty-Four.
Verses: "'As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."'
Luke 10:38-42
I love this Bible story so much because I totally relate to Martha. Mary is over there sitting with Jesus while Martha is doing all the work. So Martha is upset that Mary isn't helping so Martha asks Mary to help. But Jesus takes Mary's side.
Why I relate to Martha so much is because sometimes I feel we can all be like Martha. Martha is very busy, is overwhelmed, trying to get everything done, when she should have been sitting at the foot of Jesus.
Sometimes I feel we can make ourselves very busy like Martha. We have chores to do, school to do, work to go to, things to clean, and we are always going and going. We never have time just to sit and rest at the foot of Jesus.
God wants us to come into His presence by talking with Him and reading His word. But how many of us do that on a regular basic? Probably not as much as we should.
I think we all need to: relax, take a deep breathe, set aside some time just to spend time with God by reading the Bible, and praying. I will do it with you!

I have a prayer group and we are doing a Bible study on the book: "Discerning The Voice Of God" by Priscilla Shirer. I am very excited to read that book because in the introduction it said: "Jesus died on the cross for you, why do you think He wouldn't want to talk to you?" I loved that!
To hear the voice of God, we have to sit at the foot of Jesus like Mary. We all need to take break from this world and just be with Jesus.
I am starting reading the Bible about joy because having joy is something I have been struggling with. So whatever you are struggling with: forgiving, hope, joy, love ,etc. Look it up in the Bible and spend time reading the word.
God can't wait to talk to you but you have to do your part in spending time with Him! God loves you and can't wait to see you.
Prayer:
Dear God,
Help us all stop being busy all the time, worrying, and help us be like Mary and spend time with you. I pray that as I start to read my Bible and talk with you that you speak to me. Open my heart to you Lord. I am listening and I am ready to hear what you have to say. Please help me build a strong relationship with you. Please grab my hand and help me face life with you by my side.
I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.
In Jesus's name, I pray, Amen!

Soul Power 9999
I... don't remember how I died. Or anything else, really. I don't know who... what I am, what this dark space I am in is, or why the souls all around me are looking at me. But I do know that if the world starts falling apart, escaping comes first, even before listening to the messages that keep ringing inside my head. I only really remember the first one: [The [Simplification Process] has begun.] And so, while the world was doing a 180, I was stuck deep underground as an incorporeal soul, absorbing the essences of thousands others like me who had been torn to shreds just to prevent myself from dissipating, and trying desperately to go up while recovering jumbled up memories from my past. I did try to posses monsters to gain a physical body, but... It seems my soul got too powerful to be shackled down by a vessel. Releases every two days at 12:00 on Central Europe (GMT+1)
