《The mafia ball.》42|Nova, It's Kelly

Before you begin, I would like to apologise for the shorter chapters lately!
Nova's POV
"Grayson, what have you done?" I breath. I stare at Mr Blackwell's blood covered body that coughs and wheezes on the floor.
I look up to Grayson finding him completely frozen. The gun still locked into his hand, his arm still aiming at where his father was standing moments before everything went wrong. "Do you know what you've just done?" I ask him again.
I don't think he can fully understand what has just happened yet alone the consequences he's going to face. Grayson has just brought down a storm onto him.
I couldn't be more terrified then I am now.
"What happened? I heard a gun shot..." I look towards the door In alarm. Evelyn stands at the door her eyes locked onto her husbands dying body on the floor.
"Oh my god!" She rushes over to him, falling to her knees beside his body. I watch pitifully as she places her hands on the bleeding wound.
So much blood.
"Oh my god, what...What happened?" She asks frantically doing anything to stop the bleeding. I look at her helplessly, for some reason I can't seem to help.
My body is stuck on the same floor that his blood his soaking into. My eyes shifting towards Evelyn, her husband and Grayson. A part of me is saying to help, trying and failing is better then failing because you didn't try.
But I can't.
His hands that were just moments ago wrapped around my neck, his harsh words were nothing to the pain and hell he put Grayson through. My heart and loyalty belong to Grayson. Grayson shot his father.
I'm not going to help his father, I'm going to help him.
Getting up from the floor I walk over to Grayson who blankly stares at me as I stand in front of him. "It's okay." I whisper, I place my hand on the gun and slowly move it down.
He begins to shake his head as his eyes connect with mine. The gun falls out of his hand landing with a thump on the floor. I grasp his hand in mine, pulling him closer towards me.
"We'll get through this, together." I whisper again. I push his face away from his father, gripping his chin so he's looking at me. "It's okay." I mummer.
"I...he was hurting you." His voice is laced with confusion. I smile softly as tears gather up into my eyes. "I had to do something." He tells me as if I wouldn't be on his side.
"I know, Grayson." I swallow the lump in my throat, willing myself not to cry.

I glance over at Evelyn and if things couldn't get any worse, they just did. Mr Blackwell, who now lays lifeless on the floor, his heart stopping. Evelyn stands above his body, staring at the blood on her hands. She turns towards us dried tears staining her red cheeks, her eyes are red and swollen from the amount of tears she shed.
"He's dead." She mumbles emotionlessly. "Who shot him?" I take in a breath at the question. Grayson steps forward and I begin to panic. If Grayson says he shot and killed him, his mother may never forgive him.
He only has one parent, I can't let him take that away.
"It was me."
She turns towards me, her eyes giving nothing away as she stalks towards me. I look at her as she stands in front of me, gone is the small caring women replaced with a much more deadly looking women who I wouldn't want to cross.
My head turns to the side as her hand comes down onto my cheek. I feel the skin begin to burn and sting, I clench my jaw to stop the groan from coming out. "Get out of my house, I never want to see you again." She spits out at me.
"Mum it wa-
"I'll leave right away." I mutter, turning back to look her in the eyes.
She stares at me, tears of anger and grief falling from her eyes. "I'm truly sorry." I'm not sorry that he has passed, I couldn't care what happened to him.
I turn on my heels only for Grayson's hand to wrap around my wrist stopping me. I sigh and turn to face him. "Grayson, it's fine." I plead with him to just let me take the blame.
"I can't just let you do that." He rushes out pulling me closer to him. "It was my decision. Let me take it!" He whisper shouts. I smile softly at him and shake my head.
"Grayson, you need me to take the blame for you. I know you and you wouldn't be able to live without your mother." I whisper. I kiss him on the cheek before slipping my wrist out of his grip and turning to leave.
I make my way to the door in a haze. Again, a staff member opens the door for me to leave, me being in to much of a rush to leave, I forget to thank him. I make it to the car, slamming the door as I sit in my seat with a sigh.
Now being alone and in safe distance from Evelyn or Grayson, I let my tears fall. My hands touch my neck where I'm sure there is purple hand prints decorating my skin. I pull the visor down and see the damage done and let out a quiet cry.

My eyes burn, my throat closing up and my chest heaving up and down as sobs rack through me. I wince as a sharp shooting pain goes through my stomach. I place my hand on my stomach momentarily distracted from crying. But when I remember wheat happened, I forget the pain in my stomach focused on the pain in my heart.
Now that Grayson's father is dead hell is going to be brought upon us. Not only does Mr Blackwell have allies who will want to avenge his death, but he has enemies who will stop at nothing but to destroy what is left of his empire.
Oh god.
Grayson just made himself a target for many many dangerous and ruthless people. I've seen it happen many times before in the mafia. People challenge other people to gain more power or they eliminate weak people after a tragedy just like what happened today. People will challenge Grayson for his position he has now gained.
Oh god. Grayson has just become the most powerful man in the mafia.
I think I'm going to be sick.
I look up and see Grayson walking out of the house with a clenched jaw. I wipe away the tears from my face letting my hair fall from behind my ear to create a curtain, shielding my tear stained cheeks. He opens the door and climbs in with a slam.
I can feel his emotions rolling off him in waves and crashing into me. He's never had his guard down like this before and I know it's because he's so overwhelmed by everything that happened, he doesn't care.
"You shouldn't of done that." He breaks the silence.
I clear my throat. "I had to." I hide the croak in my voice shielding it with a cough.
"I killed my father." I look towards him to see him staring at his hands that rest on the weal.
"You did." I nod my head not knowing what else to say.
Grayson leans back in his seat, his head falling back with a groan. He runs his hands down his face harshly, running his hands through his hair gripping the dark strands roughly. I let out a small sigh and reach out to grab one of his hands in mine. I avoid his eyes still wanting to hide my face by looking out the window wordlessly.
We sit like that for a while, our hands joined together as we sit in silence. I think we're both digesting what had just happened and what's going to happen because of it.
Just the thought of someone harming Grayson and him getting hurt brings more tears to my eyes. I let out quiet cry's my silent sniffles getting Grayson attention.
"What is it, Angel?" His hands cups my cheek most definitely feeling my tears. He turns my head towards him and I don't try and fight it as he takes in my embarrassing state. "Why are you crying?" He asks softly.
"Because, I don't want to lose you, Grayson." I sob letting him pull me over him so I'm tucked into his chest. "I don't know what I would do if you weren't with me." I admit quietly.
"Shh, I'm not going anywhere." He rubs up and down my back soothingly. I cling onto his shirt and hiding my head into the crook of his neck. Just the smell of him calms me. His soft movements and soothing words reminding me that I still have him. He's still here.
"You don't need to worried okay, Angel. I would never want to leave you and I don't plan on it anytime soon." I chuckle as he flashes me a small smile. "Or like, ever." I let out another laugh letting my tears be forgotten.
"I'm sorry, I'm just scared." I admit shyly. This is what I was scared of from the very beginning, Grayson meaning more to me then I could handle. I've never felt this deeply for some one.
The only relationships I had ended because of me, If you could even call them a relationship. It was more of a fling. Then the last time I felt similar to the way Grayson made me feel, again, I ended it. It was just too much commitment for me.
Now, look where I am.
"Angel, you don't need to worry about me." I sigh softly as he kisses my neck. "I promised I'd never leave you, didn't I?" He pulls me closer to him and I relax in his touch.
He's right, he promised me.
I go to reply but I get stopped by my phone ringing. With a groan I reach for it and answer it. "Hello?"
"Nova, it's Kelly." I suck in a deep breath as Eva says the words. "I think this is it. I think we've found her." She breaths.
I let out a happy laugh. "Really?" I ask not believing her.
"Nova, we're leaving tonight."
"I'm on my way." I say and hang up the phone with a smile.
"What is it?" Grayson asks.
"It's Kelly." I breath climbing back into my seat I turn to him with a small smile filled with relief and hope.
"I think we've found her, Grayson."

Grey Worlds
A mysterious incident occurred on a otherwise normal science centered world where all of the children from the age range of eight to sixteen suddenly vanished. “Where have their kids gone and will they ever return?” The now childless parents never got to really ask that question, because a strange new element replaced their lost children. This element slowly mutated the various animals that they once ruled over with their technology to the point that they were immune to their modern weaponry. The barren land of savages on a continent far away from theirs also had their children taken, but they easily mutated just like the beasts and only grew stronger thanks to the incident. A revolution of animals eventually took place after the mutations started to cause the animals to understand just how badly the humans ruined their lives and planet. Humans were the slowest to figure out how to use this strange new element to evolve, while their opponents were evolving and growing stronger by the day they couldn’t even surpass their modern technology. When humanity was on the brink of extinction a long forgotten event finally ended and their children finally started to return from the various worlds they were summoned to! It turns out that the mysterious new element that they didn’t know what to call was mana and that it’s everywhere in some fantasy planets. The children brought back a increase in technology and techniques to grow stronger with, which caused the humans to finally be able to build safe havens for their race. They grew stronger and started to finally adapt to their brand new environment. This is the story of a orphan who was taken away from his world, before he could gain a sense of attachment to the world. Who only has his older sister to care about and how he ends up adapting to the new world in front of him.------------------Dog notes by doggo First 'five' chapters aren't what the story is really about and is more of a prologue. The reason why some are separated into parts is because Doggo originally posted them as a entire chapter. The main setting is Ghost's actual world and not any foreign world. So this story was already posted once to another site or this site three years ago… and Dog is finally ending that three year hiatus! The explanation on why Dog was on a three year hiatus would of been written in the review section, but rrl doesn't allow self reviews. I'd have to create a alt just to self review which they obviously don't want even tho I'd not give myself any stars so its going to be here instead. The update schedule is a chapter a week till Dog get a editor and then two chapters a week till Dog gets enough money to pay for Dog’s bills. The final goal is to release a chapter every other day. Dog writes 4k word chapters so they are about twice as long as some of the other authors so every other day is actually more like once a day. ------------------- The part that was supposed to be the 'review' which Dog wont bother editing out repeat infomation since it wasn't supposed to go here in the first place. The first thing Dog will go over is what changed for the first 5 chapters, so that anyone who still remembers Dog's little novel and wants to continue from where Dog originally left off can decide whether or not to reread it. Also Dog is moving over to qidan simply because dog like the app they have. Dog won't go premium even if Qidan tells dog to and will simply move back to royalroad or create a blog. The things that changed over the years are mainly two important things. The first is that Dog changed the first person point of view to a third person, because Dog read a really bad first person novel and it reminded dog of dogs own novel. Dog also changed the thoughts of the character to be - - instead of italics. Finally dog changed chapter 3 completely to make the mc not seem like a homicidal maniac and introduced a important character in chapter 3.What happened to do in the three years that dog was away? Was dog at college and now needs money to eat? Was dog off in space after successfully becoming a astronaut and has now returned home with a completed novel or two? The answer is actually quite plain dog graduated from highschool and was supposed to only spend a year at dogs owners house to choose what major dog wanted to go to college for.Dog didn't do that and is still stuck with dogs owners and is sick of being a neet. Dog wants to move and buy doggy food, but dog is antisocial and doesn't want to work a simple 9 to 5 job for the rest of dogs life. Dog is a reader before dog is a author and the reason why dog got into writing was because dog wanted to write a novel without all the things dog finds annoying. Dog spent the first year reading various novels and dropping various novels. Dog is all caught up and has to much free time on dogs paws. The first year that Dog took off was the very same year that qidan came out so dog was naturally overloaded with free chapters. But now that pemium exists dog naturally has to limit the amount dog can read. Dog is addicted to reading like my very own readers and can understand your frustrations for dog disappearing for 3 years.Dog decided that dog will go back to writing 2 years ago. Dog wanted a decent stockpile incase dog has any other emergency so dog didn't post for a year but then dog decided to change the point of view which took another year.Dog has a patreon page https://www.patreon.com/mclaindog but there isn't any tiers there or goals till dog gets a editor. My final goal is to release a chapter every other day, but as long as Dog gets a editor Dog will do two free chapters a week.Dog will probably also make a kofi for anyone who just wants to send dog a tip and can't afford to donate money monthly while maybe having bonus chapters if the tip jar gets filled.
