Nova's POV
"I've never been to France before." I comment as I look out the small window of the plain.
"Really? You'll love it." Eva smiles as she looks out of the window with big doe eyes.
"What's your favourite thing about it?" I ask interested in her home country.
She turns to me with the biggest smirk I've seen her with. It makes me realise perhaps Eva missed her home more then I thought. I feel a pang of guilt that I never noticed she was home sick.
"Oh I don't know there's so many it's hard to choose from." She sighs while smiling at me. "I guess one of my favourite is the Arc de Triomphe." I watch in awe as her french accent comes out after hiding for so long.
The beautiful language flowing of her lips like silk. "What is it?" I ask.
"It's a monument in the central Place Charles de Gaulle. It was to commemorate Napoleon's victories." I nod my head interested in the history of the monument.
"It must be so cool to live so close to all these famous tourist stops?" I ask because there's not a lot in England, if there is it's somewhere like London which everyone assumes you must be from if you're British.
"Sometimes, it's fun to see all these places but when you live there I guess you don't appreciate them as much as you should. You know?" She looks at me and I nod my head even though I have no idea what's she's talking about.
"Why are we stealing art?" Kelly takes the moment of silence to ask.
"Don't ask me." I shrug when she looks at me for the answer. I wasn't paying enough attention to know what the hells going on.
"Because, that art is just what the scorpions want. If we take it before them, replace it with a fake, they'll never know until it's too late." Liam says from opposite us.
"I don't get it, why do they want the art?"
"It's worth millions! Who doesn't want it?" Ethan snorts.
"They've made a deal with another gang. If they provide the art they will provide the goods. It's simple really, it's a trade of goods." Grayson shrugs while he scrolls through his phone.
"Goods?" Kelly asks completely confused.
"Drugs." We all say at the same time. Eva and me being the only ones to actually pay attention to Kelly when doing so.
Liam to busy napping, Ethan polishing his sniper for the one hundredth time now, even I can see my reflection from it, Grayson going through his phone like a mad man, I'm not even bothering to ask.
"Or weapons." Liam mumbles.
"Money."
"Alliance."
"Men."
"Women." I say.
"What?" Kelly's blinks between us all.
"Who cares why they want it, they won't be getting it." Grayson shrugs his shoulders finally putting his phone down.
"So how is this going to happen?" Eva asks. Everyone turns to Grayson for information as we gather around.
"We'll go in through the sky lines. We'll start by wall climbing up to the roof on the east where we will be covered the most, from there we will cut through the glass." I look at the photos of the building and notice bars.

"How are we going to get through the bars?" I ask.
"We won't." Grayson point to Liam, Ethan and him.
"I'm confused." Eva mumbles.
"You three will be able to slide through, once you're in there you will let us in from the doors." I think through the plan and another question comes to mind.
"Okay, assuming we do all this with out messing up, the moment we open those doors an alarm will go off." Grayson turns to me with a smirk.
"Obviously. Which is why we're going on early, we'll scope out the place while you three work on getting a key card." He folds his arms as he looks between us all.
"Let me get this straight. Us three will have to climb a wall, cut through the glass, slide between the bars then rope it down, unlock the door with a key card we stole the night before. Just so you can walk through a door?" I scoff.
"Exactly, Angel. Well done." Grayson smirks at me while patting my thigh.
I glare at him while he just squeezes my thigh while holding in a laugh.
"Okay, but how are we going to get the art out of there? It's not like we can just walk out with it." Liam shakes his head.
"We won't. Right now, all wrapped up and looking pretty is the fake one sitting at the museum waiting for us to swap."
"I still don't get how we are getting it out."
"Because you guys-
I cut Grayson off as he looks at us again. "Oh no way, you boys, are going to do this part." I smile at him turning to them all. "You see boys, you're going to go in there, after we have the fake art up on the walls, and you're going to be coming in to collect art that a mrs, Toussaint has a ordered. You are going to drive the real art all the way back to us where we will store it on the plain." I smile at them sarcastically feeling Grayson's gaze on me.
"Do I make my self clear? Or is that too hard for you?" I turn my head to Grayson who is giving me that same predatory look that makes me bite back a smirk.
"Good." I high five Eva and Kelly as we all sit back and enjoy the rest of the flight.
***
We arrived in France a while ago and now me and the girls are at Sandro's shopping for outfits to where at the museum tonight. The museum is holding there annual gala tonight which is perfect for us.
"This is gorgeous!" Kelly's gasps as she holds up a RedValentino Gradient pleated tulle midi dress. It's a light pink, the colour decorated with a frill. The pink the fades into a much darker plum like pink flowing at the bottom. Wrapped around the dress is a baby pink ribbon.
"That would look so good on you." I say admiring how the colours go well with her red hair and pale skin.
"For 400 euros, I think not." She holds the dress out of her each as if her just holding it would be dangerous.

I roll my eyes and take the dress out of her hands. "You can buy whatever you want." I smirk and hold up the black card.
"Is that what I think it is?" Eva comes over taking the card out of my hand and inspecting it.
"You bet." I smile.
"What? What is it?" Kelly frowns. Eva turns to her showing off the card.
"This is Grayson's card." Eva laughs. Kelly gasps and looks at me as I smile over my shoulder while looking at dresses.
"How did you get this?" Kelly gasps.
"I stole it." I laugh plucking the card out from Eva's hands who was watching it shine in the light.
Eva frowns when I take it but forgets about it when I shove a sparkly dress in her face. "So shop till you drop ladies." I say.
"Don't mind if I do." Eva wiggles her brows as she walks past me and walks to the most expensive side of the store.
I look at Kelly who looks unsure. "Won't he be mad?" I snort
"Of course he will, babe." I sigh putting my arm over her shoulder. "So you might as well take advantage of the situation." I nod my head at all the shiny shoes information of us.
She smile as walks over to the shoes. I sigh as I look down at the black card that currently holds billions of pounds. This is making me giddy, I bite my lip in excitement.
"Thanks, Gray." I mumble and begin to look for dresses.
***
"That will be 3895, euros please." I hand the card to the lady with a sweet smile on my face.
"Holy shit! I didn't realise we spent that much." Kelly's breaths beside me.
"Kelly, just live it up. Everything is so much better when it's free." Eva grins and greedily takes her five bags.
I nod my head and take my two bags. "Exactly Kelly, I mean if he's going to kill anyone it's going to be me." I shrug.
She grabs her three bags. "I still feel bad." She mumbles. I roll my eyes as we walk out of the door.
"Don't sweat it honey." Eva gives a pat on the shoulder.
"Hey, Nova?"
"Yeah?"
"If you have Grayson's card, how is he playing for stuff?"
I ponder on the question but I simply don't care enough to find the answer. "I don't know." I shrug climbing into the car after packing our bags into the back.
"I bet he has another card." Eva says as she winds down the window.
Wind blows in my face as the roof lowers making the sun shine down on us. Eva instantly shields her eyes with heart shaped glasses.
She really is the poster child right now. Her long locks covered with a silk blue head scarf , red heart sun glasses hiding away her eyes, her red coated lips tugged into a smirk as she begins to drive the car.
"I'm sure Liam or Ethan has him covered if he doesn't." I turn the radio on leaning my head back as the sun kisses my skin.
You never have this kind of sun in England.
"He won't kill me that bad right?" Kelly pops us between the two seats. I groan pushing her shoulder back so she falls into the seats.
"Will you stop worrying!" I scold her. She glares at me making a smile appear. "I'll take the heat for you." I wave her off and ignore her mindless worrying turning up the volume more to prove a point.
She flips me of in the mirror which, I reply with a wink.
We soon pull up the the hotel and immediately a smile lights up on my face when I see Grayson leaning against his flashy car, his arm crossed making his muscles bulge out of the white shirt that he has on. The sun complements his tattoos, how sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
We swerve up next to him, him watching me closely. I step out of the car and stand there with a laugh that threatens to bubble out. "I'll catch you up." I say to Eva and Kelly who skip off leaving me and Grayson. Alone.
He pushes himself of the car taking slow steps towards me. My heart beats wildly in my chest the closer he comes towards me. When he reaches me he wraps him around around my waist and crashing my chest to his.
"Hey." I whisper.
"You have something to tell me?" He cocks a brow.
I mock think looking around absentmindedly. "Uh, you look handsome." I tease. He smiles a little dipping his head closer to mine.
Just as I think he's going to kiss me he pulls back holding his card in between his fingers. "How did that get there?" I gasp.
He looks away with a smile, shaking his head slightly. He looks back to me running his tongue against his lips. He leans towards my ears and whispers, "You are in for some trouble, Angel."
"I got you gift with it." I try my luck holding out the black tie with a hopeful smile.
He chuckles, kissing my cheek. "What am I going to do with you?"
"Be really nice to me and forget I ever stole your card?" I ask sweetly.
He clicks his too he against his teeth. "Oh no, you're getting punished for this." He whispers darkly. I let out a nervous laugh, biting my lip.
"Anyway, how'd you pay for your things?" I ask, he swings his arm over my shoulder as we walk towards our rooms.
"I used your card." He shrugs.
I stop and stare at him with a shocked expression. How the? "I'm not even going to ask." I mumble rolling my eyes.
"Good idea, Angel." He chuckles kissing the top of my head.
I mumble curses as Grayson snickers beside me.

The Priest of Genes
Meet Seth, acolyte in the Church of Virtue. He’ll be a Priest like his father soon, he just knows it. Sure he didn’t inherit his mother’s preaching power, but he doesn’t mind being the secondary priest at whatever temple he is assigned to. Just as long as he has a library. Meet this genetics textbook. Hmm, that doesn’t belong here. It must have come from somewhere far away, I guess something happened to its owner. I’m sure a studious young man who likes healing could go far with this information, whether he wants to or not. This is my first time really writing anything, so I hope you like it! Please let me know if I make any mistakes; I have a new R&D tech job at a genomics company, so I probably don’t edit as much as some people. I’m shooting for two thousand-ish word chapters released on Sundays, since none of the webnovels I read ever seem to update that day. Underserved Market! Genre is fantasy, possibly progression fantasy. Maybe a tiny bit litRPG if you wait a while and squint really hard, but that’s the most I’m prepared to claim. Hedged my bets on the content warnings, nothing that bad. Cover art from A. W. Gelman
