《The mafia ball.》23|Everything Comes To A End

Nova's POV
All I saw was darkness. It wasn't the kind that you would enjoy, no. This darkness made my skin crawl, my heart beat so wildly you would think I'm having a heart attack. My skin was clammy with the nervous sweat covering me. I squeezed my eyes so tight I never wanted to open them.
But everything comes to a end.
"Nova?" His voice.
That voice. The voice I used to dream about, smile when hearing it and moan as it darkened seductively. Now it makes my skin boil in rage, my heart loath it and my thoughts were a vary of emotions. Hate. Anger. Lust. Hurt. I didn't know how to control them, how I should feel towards him.
I opened my eyes from their tight volt like grip to the light blinding me. There he is. Standing in-front of me as if anything he just did wasn't an issue. I look down to see the man laying in his own blood, a hole in the middle of his skull, his eyes lifeless. I look back at Grayson who looks at me with the same cold exterior I'm sick of seeing. "Did you mean that?" I need to know.
I need to know if what he really said was true. I'm done being the one on the end of his cold glares and his jealous flares. I'm done. He tucks his gun back into his trousers and sighs. "Does it matter?" I stare at him, now it's my turn to give him the cold stare.
"Of course not." With that I walk off.
Of course It didn't matter what his words meant because I meant nothing to him and no matter how much I tried, Grayson became something to me. What the something was i haven't thought that far.
I close my eyes, forcing myself not to cry. I won't let my tears fall because of him, I can't let him beat me like that. As I walk on I see the big doors that lead to the ballroom. Not even stopping, I clock my gun and shoot the two men stands guard outside the doors. "Nova, slow down." I glance at Eva as she stands behind me.
I kick my foot on the doors making them flash open revealing the mass gather of people held against their will by more armed men. Their guns raise in sync as they aim at me. I smirk, placing a hand on my hip and wave my gun in the air. "Hello boys, ready to play?" They share looks between themselves as guests sit their confused.
"Who are you!" A man steps forward, holding his gun close to him. He's about 6,2 with a beard covering his face, dark auburn hair pushed back.
"God, obviously." I mumble, rolling my eyes at them. He clocks his gun showing he doesn't find my sarcasm humorous.
"Are you alone?" He asks, waking closer to me by the second.
I'm about to answer but get cut off as footsteps sound behind me in sync. "You bet your ass she isn't." I look beside me to see Eva standing with a brave smile. She gives me a sly wink showing her support.
"All of you on your knees, now!" He screams. Before anyone can do anything a window above shatters and I watch, as if everything is in slow motion, a bullet flying through the air heading straight towards the armed man. The bullet goes in his head, going straight through him and into the man behind him; killing them both. They both collapse to the floor like dominoes.

Screams from the guests blast through the big hall, some shuffling and making a run for the exit. The men try to hold them back but inevitably fail. Soon the chaos calms down and we are left at a stand still.
"You'll be the only one on your knees, bitch." Ethans voice sounds through the ear peace, his voice filled with annoyance.
"Holy shit." Kelly whispers.
"Ethan, get your ass down here now." Grayson's angered voice commands.
"Yes, boss." I can see the smug grin lighting Ethans face right now.
I jump from the loud bullet firing and hitting a man in the thigh. He goes down screaming in pain, clutching his wound in agony. I look behind me confused. Did Ethan shoot him again? "I didn't mean to do that. Sorry." I nearly choke on air finding out kelly was the one who fired.
I hear Grayson groan and my eyes automatically search for him. His white shirt begins to stain with crimson blood, his shoulder gushing. I take a step forward then stop myself, remembering I don't care for him.
I don't care.
I don't care.
I clench my jaw taking a deep breath and watch with a pained grimace as he clutches his shoulder glaring at the men who shot him. Bullets fly around, with a roll of my eyes, I rush over to him and push him out of the line of fire. I ignore his gaze as I take off his tie and wrap it around his shoulder, pulling tightly on his wound. He groans in pain and I smirk in satisfaction. Making a knot i push myself away from him and go out to help.
I raise my gun and fire two shots sliding my body across the marble floor, shielding my body behind the bar. I peak my head, immediately regretting my decision and duck my head back down. Bottles shatter all around me, glass flying everywhere grazing my skin.
"Need help here?" Ethan flashes me a grin, sliding himself beside me.
"It's about time!" I yell over the noise, grinning at him. We look at each other, communicating with our eyes. With a slight nod we both get up and begin to rapidly fire. I glance at Ethan seeing a smile on his face he turns to me and I can't help but grin myself and let out a laugh. He begins to laugh along with me, we go back behind the bar and continue to laugh. "You know people would think We're crazy?" I say.
He chuckles, reloading his gun. "Nah, psychopaths." I shake my head and peer my head around the bar assessing out the area. Kelly shields herself by hiding under a table, Liam close by her. I smirk as she trips a man stopping him from attacking Liam from behind.
Eva is killing people left right and centre as her samurai sword flawlessly moves in the air, her actions fast and forceful yet graceful. Her body moves with such elegance it's admirable. I don't even flinch as the sword impales the man, going right through his chest most likely impaled his heart. My eyes zero in on Grayson who fights off three men. I hate that I don't even think about my actions, almost as if it's a reflex, I'm running over there and climbing onto an enemy's back putting all my strength onto his neck. His hands grip onto my arms pulling and pulling. He slams my back against a pillar making me fall off from him and onto the ground with the air knocked out of me. I groan in pain, my body feeling weak. I'm grabbed by the throat, my feet lifted off from the ground, my nails scratching at the hands around my throat. I begin to feel myself disconnect, my eyes begin to blur; black spots take over my vision.

Until it all disappears and like a rush of cold air comes over me. My head becomes less light and my vision slowly regains back to normal. My own hands wrap around my throat as I cough and wheeze violently. "Hey, you're okay." Warm hands cup my cheeks, lifting up my head. Grayson's emerald eyes stare back at me. I focus on his eyes, the touch of his hands on my skin; warming my whole body. "Good girl." His husky voice praises me and that's enough to snap me out from the trance.
I push my self away from him my body now cold. I hear his deep sigh as I move myself further away from him. I look around noticing the litter of dead bodies that lay scattered on the ground. A slight pang of guilt hits me as I realise the damage I've done, but I push it far back into my head. Collecting myself, I square my shoulders and make my way towards the exit. Tingles shoot up my arm I sigh knowing exactly who it is. "What, Grayson." I mumble keeping my back to him.
He spins me around, my chest close to his, our nose inches apart. His angry breaths fan down against my face as his dark eyes bore down into my eyes. "We need to talk." He mutters, his jaw clenching in anger.
I let out a breathless laugh, shaking my head in disbelief. Roughly taking my arm out of his, glaring up at him. "We have nothing to talk about." With that i walk away.

Kelly's hands run through my hair as my head lays in her lap, her movements therapeutic to the brewing headache. All the frustration and anger and all the mess of emotions running through me fall off in waves. I turn my head to look up at her with a pout. She turns away from the plain window and looks down at me with a sad smile. "You okay?" She asks.
I nod my head silently forcing the tears that so badly want to break out just to relieve me. "Yeah, I'm just tired." She nods her head in understanding. "I think I'm just gonna get some sleep." She nods her head again as I get up and walk down the small aisle making my way into the bedroom. I climb onto the bed clutching the pillow in my grasp, hoping it would dwell the rush of emotions currently breaking me slowly. I close my eyes and take a deep breath, counting to ten backwards. I've been told it help to calm yourself.
It doesn't seem to do much with the anger raging inside me.
The click of the door brings me out of my bubble. Opening my eyes I look over my shoulder to see Grayson standing with his back against the door. I drop my head again, calming myself religiously . "Go away." I mumble into the pillow.
"No. I said we need to talk."
"And I said to go away." I argue, my voice becoming hostile.
"You can't just avoid me." I push my self up and face him.
"You want to talk? Fine! Go ahead and talk then." I fly my arm out to him in frustration.
"Look...what I said was needed to be said." He walks towards me with determination.
I let out a laugh and push myself off from the bed and waking around it so we face opposite each other. "Needed to? What you said Grayson wasn't needed!" I shout.
"I saved your life!" He shouts back, his voice deep and dominating.
"No! You used it to push me away, again!" I throw a pillow at him, hitting him in the chest. He throws the pillow on the floor In anger.
"You nearly got your self killed! Are you really that stupid to not see what I did was the best thing for you!" I shake my head as I glare at him.
"What am I, huh? Just some girl you're fucking? Or maybe I'm no one! Oh no, I've got it. I'm just a stupid girl!" I scream, tears starting to form in my eyes.
"Yes! Isn't that what this whole thing is between us? We fuck, we don't do feelings!" He walks around the bed so he's standing in front of me.
"You think I don't know that?!" I scream, tears finally falling down my cheeks one after the other. He looks down at me with nothing, there's not one hint on how he's feeling at this very moment.
I let out a cry, clutching my hair in my fisted hands. "God! We spend every second together and with that I really fight to not feel anything. We share these moments and I'm always there for you...But you always push my away." I whisper
"We said no feelings." He mumbles.
"What's the point anymore, Grayson. What is this?" I point towards us desperately wanting answers.
His watches me carefully, walking towards me he wraps his arm around me, his head falls against mine. I close my eyes letting a tear fall. "We need to let this go." I whisper. Grayson steps back, my hands falling from his cheeks. He kisses my forehead and steps completely back from me. A cold wind surrounding me.
"If that's what you want." He avoids my gaze as he walks out of the bedroom and back to his seat. I let out a cry and clasp my hands on my face, suppressing a scream. It pains me that he let go so easily because if he felt anything towards me he would of fought harder, right? This just showed he never cared as much as I did.
The door opens again and I'm lifted by hope that perhaps he came back. My hope died as I see Eva and Kelly walk in with sorrowful looks. I cry harder thinking how pathetic I am to hope for him. Warm arms wrap around my shaking figure and guide me to the bed.
I lay in between Eva and Kelly as they whisper soothing words, their warmth surrounding me. I close my eyes and let the sleep take over me. Finally, all the anger and frustration leaves me as I fall into darkness.
Finally, I'm at peace.

8 652Papercuts to Fell Immortals
Qing Shen is a girl from the counrtyside, forced into a role she never wanted by a Young Master who's infamy is spread throughout the land. As a Cultivator in the path to immortality, Qing Shen has to deal with her own problems as well as the mysteries surrounding her Young Master. Things, however, are not as they seem, and the young girl finds that sometimes the truth is more unbelievable than the lies we often follow. . . . If you want a less hidden-meaning summary: This story is about the struggles of one girl as she tries to become an Immortal. There won't be any meaningful romance, but there will be a plot that spans most of the story, and violence. Oh the violence! I'm not going to say that my ideas are 100% original (because hoo boy are there a lot of Wuxia), but hopefully I can write something entertaining. Guaranteed things: 1. Cliche events with a twist (I mean, it's literally in the description) 2. Important Characters will have backstories and motivations that will hopefully make them not one-dimensional (honestly, that's just normal stuff...) 3. Untrustworthy characters (everyone in the story lies, even me, so don't trust everything you read... but at the same time, trust everything you read) 4. Goodish grammar (not gonna say mine's the best, but it's readable in most cases) 5. Plot! (Everywhere!) 6. worldbuilding? (Should be there somewhere, but I probably won't do blatant info dumps... probably) 7. Character development? (Its there... at some point...) 8. The story gets dark at some points (if you don't like characters dying, then this might not be your cup of tea) 9. A strong main character? (She'll be strong, yes. However, her enemies are also strong. If everyone is strong, then is she no longer strong? My brain hurts) 10. Wow, this list is going on for awhile... uh, Believable and reasonable Action? (I mean, I'm writing for mainly my fun, so if I want a fight scene, then I might craft a scenario to explain it... or I might suddenly throw in a Dragon and call it a day) This story also goes by the same name over on Webnovel.com, but I'm going to be updating it here because, well I want to. They are both by me, and created by me. If there's anything that seems like a copy of another work, then that's just the genre being saturated by everything under the sun.
