Chapter 6|Say Hello To Our New Home
Nova
"Have you got everything?" My mum asks looking over all my packed bags.
"Yes, for the millionth time." I laugh.
"Okay. I'm going to miss you." She hugs me.
"I'm going to miss you to mum," I say sadly into her shoulder. I close my eyes, the smell of her surrounding me, making me feel comfortable.
She pulls back with a sad smile and tearful eyes. "I'm only going for the summer. You can't get rid of me that easily." I joke.
"I wish we could," Jake mumbles.
"Yeah, well the best day of my life was when you moved out." I stick my tongue out at him.
"The worst day of my life was when you were born." He says back.
"Liar, I made your life a fucking party." I scrunch my eyebrows looking up at him.
"Nova!" I roll my eyes as my mum scolds me.
"Come here, I guess I'll miss you." He pulls me into a hug.
"Yeah see how life is without me," I say muffled into his chest.
His chest shakes as he laughs. "You mean when it was perfect?" I pull back frowning as he laughs.
"Okay come on my turn." My dad says with open arms.
I walk into his arms, his height towers over me as his arms wrap around me like I'm in my protective bubble.
"I don't want a phone call saying you've caused problems okay?" He looks down at me sternly.
"I'll make sure they don't phone you when I do." I smile innocently at him.
He shakes his head and lets me go. I nod them a final goodbye before climbing into the car. I wave at them through the open window with a slight frown.
I sigh turning to Ben after my family goes out of the image. "Do you think they'll be okay?" I ask Ben.
He looks at me through the mirror before backing at the road. "Of course miss. Try not to worry." He reassures me.
"Yeah. I try not to." I sigh looking out at the open window.
The wind blows through my hair, closing my eyes a smile makes a way to my face as the feeling is freeing. I frown when the wind stops I open my eyes and notice we have stopped.

"We have arrived at miss. Kelly's house." Ben says as he climbs out of the car. I join in and climb out of the car and run up to the door.
I knock on the door my feet moving continuously. I'm nervous and excited to see Kelly. I didn't mention Liam being in the mafia he wasn't ready to tell her and I had to respect his wishes, so I had to lie. It's been hard to.
"Oh! Hello Nova." Kelly's mum smiles as she opens the door.
Every time I feel guilty when I see her. Kelly wasn't the only one who was hurt because of me. Kelly's mum now suffers from PTSD, it took a while for her to walk out of the house. Even longer for her to answer the door.
As if she can see what I'm thinking she interrupts my thoughts. "Nova, please stop beating yourself up. We don't blame you." She smiles sadly at me.
"I know, I'm sorry," I say sincerely. She nods her head with a smile.
"We know honey." She says softly.
"Hey!" Kelly comes running up to the door with her bags in her hand.
Ben automatically takes the bags out of her hands and starts to walk to the car.
"Every time." She groans. I laugh as she runs to open the door before him.
"Goodbye." I wave to Kelly's mum as she waves to me and Kelly.
"Be safe!" She yells.
I make my way to the car, Ben holding open the door for me. "Thank you." I thank him and climb in the car to see a pouting Kelly.
"Beat you?" I ask as I put my seat belt on.
"How do you do it, Ben?" She looks at him suspiciously.
I shake my head as we begin to drive off. I don't think she gets that Ben has been doing this for many members of our family for many years. He opens doors like it's a reflex.
He's more than that, he's family.
"I brought snacks!" Kelly holds up a bunch of sweets and crisps.
"Thank god!" I say. I didn't bring any, I thought I was going to die of hunger.
"What am I here for?" She laughs.

"So I don't have to go alone," I say.
"Just pretend you're not using me!" She groans shaking her head at me.
I laugh and apologise.
****
We step out of the car into a secluded area cabins surrounded by woods. Expensive cars lined up as many people file out of the vehicles. I look around and recognise some faces.
Ethan Langston. Son of second in command of the Russian mafia.
Ave Duke. Sister to the mafia boss of the French mafia.
"You've got to be kidding me." I groan.
Kelly comes up next to me. "What?" She asks.
"Elizabeth." I groan. Kelly snaps her head to the short-haired blond with glaring eyes.
"The one from the ball?" She asks.
"The one and only." I sigh as I collect my things from Ben.
"You know if she wasn't part of the mafia, I would so punch the bitch." I laugh at what Kelly whispers in my ear.
"Don't worry, you'll have your chance." I pat her shoulder as I walk past her and into the reception.
"Welcome, name?" A woman asks.
"Nova Quinn," I say. She looks up at me and looks back down at her clipboard and writes something down.
"Perfect! One moment." She smiles at me.
"George!" She yells. Soon after her shout a lanky boy comes up looking terrified.
"You'll be miss Quinn's guide. Take her to her cabin." She says to George sternly.
"Yes ma'am." He avoided my eyes.
"My friend will be joining me." I let the women know.
"Her name?" She asks looking at her clipboard.
"Oh, she won't be in that." I wave her off.
"Oh. Well, we can't have her here then." She looks back up at me.
I look at her with my glare. "Cant? Or won't?" I ask.
"Uh.." she looks at me then around the room and back at me.
"She's staying with me no matter what you say. Okay, honey?" I smile at her sarcastically as she nods her head rapidly.
"O-of course miss." She stutters.
"Perfect. Shall we George?" I turn to the pale George.
He nods his head and takes my bags away from me, racing ahead.
I follow him as Ben follows with me and Kelly, carrying Kelly's bags. Much to her dismay.
"Fine! Carry them then." She huffs and catches up to me.
"Who's he?" She points to the jittery George.
"That's George," I say.
"Hi, George!" She shouts. He turns around and nearly trips and he fumbles with the bags.
"Need some help?" I ask.
He shakes his head and turns back around speed walking. We soon come to a stop at a large looking cabin. George fumbles to open the door, once we are inside the places the bags are down, hands us the keys and runs out of there.
"Thanks, George!" Kelly yells as he runs out.
"Cool." She looks around In awe.
The front room is a spacious area with a cosy fireplace, an L shaped grey sofa takes up most of the room and in front of it is a brown wooden coffee table. An armchair is placed in the corner of the front room near a window.
Kelly ventures into the kitchen as I wander upstairs. The stairs are gorgeous brown oak wood. A long hallway with four doors leading to what I assume is bathrooms and bedrooms.
I walk through the first door to see a bedroom. A double bed sits in the middle of the room white covers over it and a million pillows stacked up neatly on top of it. To the right of the bed is glass doors leading out to a balcony. The room is your normal room. Bed, wardrobe, and nightstand on either side of the bed.
I see another door and assume it must be a bathroom. I open it, the layout is a cosy vibe. The sinks are wood as is the wall that has a huge mirror hanging from it. The floor is also made of wood panels, that are smooth on your feet. The bath is an old fashioned theme with a shower above it and a white shower curtain pulled to the side.
I walk out closing the door behind me just as I hear Kelly shout from downstairs.
"They have a waffle maker!"
Say hello to our new home.

Ocean Attuned - A timeloop LitRPG
In the mids of industrialization, Liana, a girl of almost twelve, awakens her flow and follows her newly awakened calling, the ocean, and thus the path of the last remaining god. With the advent of industry, one's status and the accompanying skills slowly grow to be secondary as people choose more recreational skills and classes. The clear exception are flow bringers. Humans with an increased affinity towards flow and attunements are the only real remnants of the age of gods and mysticism. Terrors on the battlefield, saints in hospitals, saviours during drought, are just some examples of the wonderous abilities they display. As civilization grows less dangerous so does the stress that is often associated with the awakening of the flow reduce and only the real talents remain. Please be aware that this is a first draft at best. Tag/Genre analysis: Action: A theme that will appear in the story at some point (probably 15+ chapters in) Adventure: Yes Fantasy: Yes Magic, Beasts, and other fantastical elements are totally at home here. Tragedy: Life is not always fun. For what is fun when there are no downsides. I don't know how heavily I am going to lean into this genre. I want to but don't expect too much. Loop: Yes, though I will not divulge anything else. Just be aware that there isn't nearly as much looping as in MoL for example. Female Lead: Yes, Liana is female. Dungeon: Yes, there are dungeons. Yes, they will get explored. LitRPG: Yes, read the first chapter if you want an example. Magic: most definitely because who doesn't like calling lighting down from the heavens. (Disclaimer: No actual lightning will be called down from the heavens) Mythos: There are gods. So maybe, I don't know if that is enough to qualify? Progression: yes Slice of Life: There is plot, and the story will mostly be about that plot, but there will also be downtime because there can't always be action. The first "loop" especially the first 20-30 chapters will be heavily SoL. And afterward there will be a lot less. Profanity: The ocean (see title) includes sailors and we all know how the stereotypical sailor is. Gore: Hmmm, some but I will have it be not graphic at all.
