《The Bride of Gojo Satoru》Chapter 39
Advertisement
This morning grandma and grandpa had to go to a clan meeting, brother Yuta had to leave due to his sorcerer duty, and mommy and daddy were going to the store to buy some baby items which left Yuji and Choso in the house with me. However, I couldn't have fun because Choso didn't like Yuji as he glared at Yuji across the table we sat playing card games. The atmosphere felt so uncomfortable. All mommy told me about Choso was that he's my older brother from her past life. She didn't need to lie to me since I was in the room when she announced it yesterday. But this was going to be my first time getting to know him yet I couldn't because he had beef with Yuji.
Laying my cards flat on the table, I sighed irritably, unable to look at my two brothers in the eyes. With my downcasted cute face, it surely would captivate them. I have to thank my daddy for my beautiful face.
Ena and Gojo
"AAA-CHOOOO!" Gojo loudly sneezed, scaring the shit out of Ena as she yelped and jumped away from her husband.
"EKK!" Ena jolted, having people stare at them. Her heart rate went haywire from the sudden noise. To her, Gojo sounded like a revving engine when obnoxious drivers want to annoy people. "What the hell, Satoru! You scared me!" She hit his arm as she checked her babies to see if they were still alive. That's when she felt their movements which reassured her. "Thank goodness I didn't lose the babies... I would've killed him if I did." She whispered to herself.
"Babe! I didn't mean to scare you!" Gojo clung onto Ena, profusely apologizing to her. He even went far to push her head to his chest.
"Satoru! You're going to suffocate me!" Ena slapped him again and this time Gojo pulled back.
"I sneezed because someone was talking about me." Gojo proudly said, racking his hair back as if he's trying to impress a girl.
"About what?"
"My looks,"
Ena closed her eyes as she pinched the bridge of her nose and muttered to herself, "of course. What a Satoru response... You're so full of yourself." Then she walked away from him saying, "I feel like I shouldn't need to ask any questions if it's about you. I already know your self centered answer."
Gojo watched her go on without him as he chased after her. "Hey! Wait up! You can't leave this pretty boy behind!!" >
"You both fouled my mood," I pouted sadly at Yuji and Choso, and another exaggerated sigh slipped from my lips. "I wanted us to play together as a family but we can't since brother Choso doesn't like brother Yuji. Well if you need anything from me, you know where to find me."
I jumped off my seat and trudged to my bedroom. I really hoped this made Yuji and Choso think about making up. I left the table and said what I needed to get off my chest, so only time can tell if they do make up or not. I don't like it when two people aren't getting along for a particular reason especially if I like them both.
As I stared at my flat ceiling, I pondered if time had passed or not, or if the two made up.
Grrrrrowl
My stomach rumbled from hunger, and I rolled off my bed and darted off to the kitchen. This will give me an opportunity to see if they're friendly to each other or not.

Skipping my way to the kitchen, Yuji was no longer present at the dining table. It was only Choso sitting there by himself. His hands were pressed together as his eyes were intensely staring off in space. He didn't even hear my footsteps or see me walk by. What in the world was in his head?
Instead of going to the kitchen, I carefully moved towards him as if there were traps laid on the ground and I had to maneuver my way around it. Choso still didn't see me and his eyes hadn't shifted either.
"Brother Choso,"
His eyes immediately looked at me. "Are you hungry?" Choso said out of nowhere as it surprised me. I never told him I was hungry. How did he know?
"Yeah," I nodded.
Choso's face relaxed as he grinned happily at me. "A big brother will always know when their little brother is hungry. You wouldn't have come out of your room unless you were. Big brother will be right back with delicious food!"
Then Choso traveled to the kitchen to cook me some food.
"Oh okay...thanks...?" I was left in a daze. I didn't know how that turned so quickly. I only came to check up on him, but if he's wanting to make me food then I'll take it. I can't make much either with these tiny hands of mine.
Later, Choso came striding out with joy and pride written all over his face as the delicious smell of katsudon filled the air. He seemed very happy with himself. Choso must've put his blood, sweat, and tears into this meal. I hope it doesn't disappoint, and if it does then I'll sugar coat it like mommy's bad cooking.
"Thanks for waiting, Naozumi." Choso presented the beautifully decorated food in front of me, and I inhaled the deep and rich aroma. It danced all the way to my tastebuds, making my mouth water in an instant. "Now you can eat up,"
Choso sat right beside me as he intensely watched me, wanting to know if his cooking was chef's kiss. This did put pressure on me, but I did my best to ignore it.
I picked up my spoon and delved right into it.
"Oh!" I said with my mouth full. I didn't expect the flavors to hit me in a strong way. "It's really good!"
A pleased smile took over Choso's face as he extended his hand and ruffled my hair. "I'm glad you love it! It makes me feel good,"
During my meal, I found out that Choso made up to Yuji which was great because they don't have to be awkward anymore. I also found out that Yuji was taking a nap so he wouldn't be able to play with me and Choso. It's okay since I'll be able to spend time with my older brother.
"Brother Choso, can we draw together? I feel like drawing."
"If my little brother wants it, I'll give it to him." Again, Choso ruffled my white hair. Everyone keeps doing that to me.
We laid flat on the ground, drawing and coloring whatever we drew. I bet if someone came in and saw us sprawled on the ground, they'd think we were starfish.
I drew a picture of myself as a future sorcerer. The job seemed easy from how my daddy described it, but maybe it's because I'm born by the two most powerful sorcerers on this planet. I shouldn't get too cocky like daddy...mommy doesn't like it. I know she gets scared that one day I'll turn out to be just like daddy.

"What did you draw, brother Choso?" I peered over his shoulder and saw he drew a family picture. There was him, two figures, three containers with something inside, another two figures who looked like me and mommy. Choso's drawing wasn't bad. I could tell who was who, but I have to admit...it's better than Sukuna's. I mentally shivered in horror as I remembered asking him to draw.
There was a beatific expression taking over his softened face. I've never seen him happy before. Family does mean a lot to Choso; after all, it was taken away from him before he was even born. I can't imagine growing inside of mommy but not being able to live. My mommy is the only figure he sees as his new life and hope. I'll be the best little brother he has!
"It's my family," Choso passionately talked about how much family means to him. His heart wrenching words made me feel like he can teach a class about the importance of family. It even got to a point where he wiped away tears from his eyes.
"Brother Choso, it's okay." I rubbed his shoulders, not really knowing how to comfort a bigger person. "I'm here! You can always call me brother as I call you my brother!" I gave him a big bear hug despite my small frame.
Click clack click clack
"Ahem!"
Choso and I turned around as I still hugged him.
"Grandpa!!"
"Sukuna..."
There was a big scowl on Sukuna's face, and I didn't know why because he just came out of nowhere. Why was he mad? I know he's always annoyed but this time felt different than usual.
"What brings you here, grandpa?" I asked then hopped on Choso's back so he could carry me. Choso didn't have to ask what I was doing because he already knew. He tucked his arms under my legs to keep me up as I lightly wrapped my arms around his neck so I wouldn't fall.
"Naozumi, why do you call him 'grandpa'?" Choso muttered for only me to hear.
Leaning close to his ears while I locked eyes at the ticked Sukuna, I replied with a solid answer. "Because Sukuna's an old spirit inside of a human body. He's basically my grandpa."
Sukuna impatiently tapped his foot on the ground as his arms were crossed with his irked expression. "I thought you wanted to play with me that's why I'm out here."
My head tilted to the side. "Huh? When did I ask you that?" I can't recall ever asking Sukuna to play with me, and even if I did, he would refuse me until I begged and cried. "What are you talking about, grandpa?"
His red eyes narrowed as he snarled, showing his canine tooth. Sukuna's agitated state worsened but I didn't know why. I just asked him a question in my head. He's being so fussy. "Are you going to play with me or not?"
"Maybe next time, grandpa. I'm going to spend time with big brother Choso!!" I grinned brightly, watching Sukuna's face get 10x worse than before. "Plus you don't really like playing with me anyways so I'll play with brother Choso since he likes me!!"
Choso sped off, running around the house as I squealed in delight. The gush of air blasting my face and the chilling height of being on someone's back made everything feel so much fun. This reminded me of when daddy used to do this to me. Lately he hasn't been but I understand why. Mommy's life is very important. We don't want to see her disappear.
A few minutes passed and we were in the backyard.
"Weeeeeee!!" I giggled from Choso throwing and catching me in the air. It's like I'm a flying airplane.
Plop!
Choso firmly gripped me under my armpits as he finished throwing me, yet I was still being held up in the air. I complimented his beaming smile with my adorable face. It's great to see Choso act so lively, affectionate, attentive, and caring—like a real brother should. "What else does my little brother want to do?"
"Umm—" Before I could reply, Sukuna entered our conversation as he stood at the patio, raising his voice for us to hear. He again kept the same face and composure from earlier.
"Why don't you let me take over? I know the boy pretty well..." Sukuna stepped off the patio and began coming towards us. "He's just so energetic that it can be draining to keep up with. Don't you want grandpa Sukuna to throw you up in the air too?"
Sukuna was acting very, very odd. He's never like this. I don't understand what's provoking him. I'm clearly having fun with Choso instead of him. I know how tiring and lazy Sukuna was, so wasn't it great I'm not bothering him? And besides, he hates it when I touch him too but I know he likes me which is why he complies to me at the end.
"It's okay, grandpa." I rejected him with good reasons. "You can rest today since I am too energetic and draining to keep up with. Brother Choso will take good care of me!"
For a split second, I saw a twinge of pain override his stubborn mean face. This caused my heart to throb. The meaning was unknown but perhaps it's because I hurt him? With that being said, Sukuna accepted my words without retorting and walked inside the house, and a heavy feeling took over my heart. Did I really make the Sukuna sad? I didn't know I had so much power over him.
Being planted on Choso's side, he grabbed my attention. "Naozumi, are you alright?"
As my eyes were still glued at the last sight of Sukuna leaving, I nodded my head in response. "Yeah," then I turned my head to Choso, covering up the weird and tingling sensation in my chest after seeing Sukuna leave without a fight. "Let's play kick ball!"
A few minutes kicking the ball back and forth, Sukuna popped out of nowhere and kicked the ball in my place. The ball flew up high in the air as a diamond showed up, telling us that it disappeared in the sky.
"You," Sukuna turned his attention to Choso. "Go find the ball while I occupy this kid."
It didn't make sense why Choso would have to find it if Sukuna caused it. What kind of logic is that? "Grandpa—" Before I could tell Sukuna to do it himself, Sukuna already scooped me in his arms and dragged me inside the house.
His quick speed took us to the living room as he dropped me down on the couch.
Plop!
"Oi kid, how long are you going to ignore me?" Sukuna sat down beside me, making the cushion sink in and I toppled beside him.
"Oof!" My cheek hit his arm as I scrambled myself back up so he wouldn't get mad that I 'touched' him. Laying my eyes on Sukuna, he looked like a sad puppy wagging his tail. Was he really that jealous of me not spending time with him? I'm not even ignoring, rather letting him have his own peace and quiet. However, it's a nice change to see him jealous.
I moved a foot away from Sukuna to 'give him space' and immediately, Sukuna's eyes narrowed as he looked confused yet pissed off by my sudden movement.
Sukuna placed his hand on top of my head and put his weight on it so I wouldn't move around. "Are you going to run away from me? I thought you weren't scared of me." His piercing red eyes glared at my direction.
I smiled without my teeth as my eyes rolled to the side. "No, it's because grandpa has arthritis."
"Huh? How do you even know that word?"
"Duh, it's because I'm smart like my daddy! Continuing on, isn't it better if grandpa takes breaks from me? You're always complaining about playing with me..." I stared off into space as I spoke. "But now I have a new person who likes to be with me and doesn't nag about wanting to rest!" I shook his hand off my head and kept my innocent yet mischievous nature. I wanted him to admit that he liked me more than he knew it.
Jumping off the couch, I marched away from him saying, "I'm going to play with big brother Choso who loves to be around me and isn't mean to me either! Bye—"
In a flash, Sukuna threw me over his shoulder in a fit of rage where my legs were at his back and my face was at the front. "I have had it, little kid! I've tolerated your ignorance and waited for you to run back to me! How long are you going to keep me waiting?! Only I can play those fun activities with you! Not anyone else!"
My eyes widened as my mouth formed an O. I didn't even need to do anything to make him confess. He did it on his own. Man... I wished I did a better job at poking Sukuna, but I guess it's okay because I don't want him to rip this house apart either. Mommy and daddy will be extremely angry if we don't have a house.
"Hehe... You don't have to be jealous, grandpa."
Sukuna's face contorted in disgust as if he's rejecting the idea of him being jealous was not an emotion he has. "I wasn't jealous. I just felt excluded."
"But isn't brother Choso excluded now? You made him find the ball you kicked so you had time with me. Are you sure you're not jealous??"
Sukuna grunted and shook his head. "No. I joined in because you didn't invite me. It's his fault for not catching the ball."
He's really refusing to acknowledge that he's jealous. If I press any further, he would give me a similar answer. Sighing in defeat, I smashed our faces together. Sukuna flinched, taken back from my random action. Our cheeks were touching as heat radiated from our soft skin. "Grandpa... No one is ever going to replace you. Don't be jealous and act hasty because it makes you look like a big meanie."
Sukuna stayed silent. I didn't know if it's because his mind was malfunctioning or not, but it's cute that I can make him like this.
Bam!
"Naozumi!" Choso called, slamming the backyard door open as he heaved out heavily. Choso must've had a hard time finding that ball. He's literally out of breath. Poor dude... All because of Sukuna's jealousy. "I found the ball!"

Legends of Balarel - A Leisurely LitRPG
Glenn Redwood has longed to become an Adventurer since he was a young boy, and has focused every waking moment on that goal since turning 14. Answering the challenge of the Gods of Balarel, he has fought Monsters, Leveled, and grown stronger. Yet the day before his 16th birthday, the day he will earn his dream or lose it forever ... the Gods have made a wager. And no mere mortal wishes to draw the attention of the Gods. ***** This is my crack at writing a leisurely LitRPG. My focus is more on telling interesting stories set in a world where people live under a MMORPG-like ruleset enforced by the Gods, and less on writing another story where the MC gets massive stat boosts every chapter before heading off to wreck the world. There will be plenty of blue tables (it’s LitRPG!) but my Adventurers are just starting out. This fic is about the journey, not the destination, so expect everyone to Level ... leisurely. Updates: M-T-W-Th. I’ll post 3000-4000 words a day, or 12000-15000 words a week. If this posting pace ends up being too much for me, I reserve the right to slow posts down a bit. Inspirations: Blessed Time (Royal Road) Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? (Anime) Trails in the Sky (JRPG Series) MC: My MC is a genuinely good person who’s both a talented warrior and tactically savvy. He prefers to solve problems without violence but will resort to force if necessary to protect his friends or innocent people. I’m tired of stories starring anti-hero MCs facing endless doom and gloom, so I wanted to write a nice guy with an adventurous spirit who helps people in a thriving fantasy world. That’s all.
