《The Bride of Gojo Satoru》Chapter 15

A few days have passed since I recovered from the sudden illness that crept up on me after the goodwill event. I was bedridden for days until one day Gojo came back home with a reassuring yet successful smile. He didn't tell me how I recovered because he didn't want to worry me. Those days were painful: my whole body ached, I coughed out blood, I barely ate; it felt like I was on death's door. We had to send Naozumi away so he wouldn't have to be scarred from this troubling experience.
Gojo jumped into our bedroom, handing me a bouquet of roses as I sat up on the bed. "It looks like my wife is healthy! She's back to normal!"
I took the bouquet and accepted his kiss to my cheek. I couldn't imagine the stress he went through because of the illness. The disruption of the goodwill event plus my deteriorating health must've reduced ten years of his lifespan. My poor husband did his best to glue the family together. "Thanks, Satoru. So tell me—" When I wanted to ask him how he resolved my mysterious illness, he spoke as if I didn't need to ask in the first place.
Gojo dropped to his knees, holding my hand over the edge of the bed. His sparkling blue eyes looked gently at me, and he spoke the words I didn't expect to hear. "I asked Sukuna to help us."
My head tilted to the side. "You...teamed up with Sukuna? This is the most bizarre thing you ever said." I can't imagine those two working together. They seem more like cats and dogs fighting rather than getting along. If Gojo did that it must mean he was desperate to save me.
"Yes, I had to. I couldn't find what was killing you, so I opted for Sukuna to help us. I guess we're lucky that he still has his weird attachment towards you." Gojo chuckled as if it was a good thing. Perhaps to a certain extent but overall no. I think he must have hit his head somewhere. This doesn't sound like the Gojo I know.
"I want to hear what happened when you guys teamed up, that's what I'm curious about."
Gojo explained to me that the culprit behind it was my clan, and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be hurt or not. I couldn't really tell because my feelings for them were numb. It didn't really phase me that much so I suppose it was a good thing. "Too bad I wasn't there to see it. They gave me hell, and you guys burned them in hell... Do you think the higher ups are going to say something about this?" It would be bad news if the higher ups knew Sukuna and Gojo killed the Kita Clan. Who knows what would happen to Yuji, the vessel and Gojo, the powerful sorcerer.
"Nahhh," He flicked his wrist in the air and stood up with a big smirk. "Sukuna killed everyone in the household including the servants. It looks more like an accidental fire than anything else."
A frown drew upon my lips. "Some of the servants were good to me... But it is what it is," I sighed, trying to block their faces out of my heart and mind. It's been 10 years since I left so I need to forget about them. They may or may not have stayed after I left so it shouldn't matter.
Chu~
Gojo planted a kiss on my head and caressed my cheeks as we locked eyes with one another. "It'll be alright. They can't touch you anymore because they're dead."

Then out of nowhere, Naozumi popped inside the room. "Mommy! Why don't you grant grand—Sukuna a wish?! He did save your life after all." He plopped himself on the bed, snuggling in my arms. His innocent eyes stared up at me, and I couldn't help but wonder why he would ask me that.
"Nao, do you even know who Sukuna is?"
Naozumi nodded his head vigorously, and me and Gojo exchanged looks. Sukuna never came out when we were home. There's no way he could've come in contact with Naozumi.
Gojo planted himself near my legs and spoke seriously to our son. "Naozumi, how do you know Sukuna? Mommy and daddy want to know. He's not a safe person." Gojo's brows knitted and his voice subtly changed, not too much to make our son cry.
"Daddy, he's not a bad person! He's really nice! He saved me when I got kidnapped! He's a good grandpa!"
Gojo and I couldn't believe what was coming out from our son's mouth. He continued on speaking about the bright side of Sukuna while my head couldn't wrap the thought of him interacting with a demon like Sukuna. Naozumi's poor pure soul was now tainted. This was insane to hear... Naozumi is an honest child! He would never lie to his parents—keeping secrets maybe but lying I doubt it.
"I'm calling Yuji over this instant!" Gojo immediately called Yuji, and that boy came rushing over here like his life depended on it, which it did. We needed another person to confirm the truth Naozumi was speaking about. Our son was growing up too fast... He already befriended the devil.
Later, when Yuji came, we sat around the dining table to discuss this important matter that Naozumi had brought up. "Yuji," I politely asked, not wanting him to feel tense because he looked like a block of ice right now. "Just tell us the truth about what we're going to tell you. Naozumi came clean, and we need to confirm it."
Yuji nodded, still stiff from this easy interrogation.
"Has Nao ever come into contact with Sukuna?" Instantly, Yuji got up and started bowing to us repeatedly as he apologized. He confessed his sins to us, feeling horrible that he had to keep Naozumi's secret away from his teacher and me.
"Yuji," Gojo had his hand up which stopped Yuji from apologizing. "It's fine. Me and Ena should've done better to stop this, but it seems like Naozumi is fond of Sukuna and we can't do anything about that."
Collecting my thoughts, I made a final decision. "Sukuna saved me and Naozumi... Thanks to him." My lips quivered from feeling defeated by this situation. We were really indebted to Sukuna. Without him, Naozumi would've been gone from our sight, and I would've died a few days ago. "Sukuna, I'll grant you any wish that doesn't have to be you stealing me."
"Babe!" Gojo whined, sliding over to my side to protect me. His arms wrapped around me, refusing to let me go and who thinks I'll supposedly run away with Sukuna. "I can't believe you're cheating on me!"
"Daddy, stop being a big baby! Mommy is right though. Grandpa needs a reward for saving us."
"Grandpa?" Me and Gojo said in unison, then Naozumi explained his reasoning.
"Oh? I finally get recognition for my good deeds?" Sukuna's mouth appeared on Yuji's face as it grinned widely.
"Yes, are you happy now?" I said in dismay.
"Oh I am overly joyed, my dear queen. Why don't we go on a date?"

Gojo held me tighter in his arms, almost suffocating me in his fit of jealousy and rage. "Hey, that's crossing the line!"
I know this will hurt Gojo, but this time I actually do feel guilty if I didn't accept his wish. Without Sukuna, I wouldn't be here today. My life would've ended at the hands of my clan. "Satoru, I understand where you're coming from...and I'm sorry to let you down but—"
"Daddy, you need to chill! Mommy loves you a lot. She would never do anything to hurt you, and you know Yuji wouldn't let Sukuna do anything inappropriate since it's his body too!" Today Naozumi was bold. He didn't hold back his opinion at all. "Plus Sukuna is just like you daddy. He wants to be loved even if mommy doesn't love him. Let him have a chance to feel human again!" He was pulling strings to keep Gojo from kicking Yuji/Sukuna out of the house. My little baby knew how to sway people with his words. I feel proud of him.
"Satoru..." I cooed, tilting my head back to look at my lover. "If it makes you comfortable, you and Naozumi can watch from a distance." I rubbed his arm in hopes he'll reconsider. It's not like I wanted to accept Sukuna's wish; I had no choice but to. He's a stubborn being. Nonetheless, this may be an opportunity for Sukuna to be exposed to other women.
Gojo's body cooled down as he pulled back. His body was no longer tense. "Ena, I trust you. I also trust Yuji too. If Sukuna gets out of hand, switch back with him, Yuji." At least Gojo was understanding at the end.
Out on the streets of Tokyo, me and Sukuna were beside one another. I put a subtle distance between us because Sukuna's body is a 15 years old boy. I don't wanna look like a cougar; I hoped I looked like his sister or relative, nothing beyond that please.
"Okay, you have your chance now. What do you want to do— ACK!" Suddenly, I was grabbed by someone as they screamed at me.
"WHY DO YOU HAVE MY FACE?" It was a female voice. Her hands gripped the collar of my shirt while she shook me. Catching a glimpse of her face, she looked very young. She might be around Yuji's age or a little older. "ARE YOU TRYING TO STEAL MY MAN?!" Her brown eyes were filled with pure rage and hatred towards me, yet I don't even know this child.
Slap!
I didn't hesitate to slap this insane child. Her grip loosened and she stepped back from me. Her hand touched the stinging cheek I hit. "Control yourself, child. Touch me one more time then I will slap you again. Why don't you speak calmly before I change my mind?" I don't even know why I was tolerating this, but my guts were telling me that this interaction with this child was important.
"You have my face..." She calmly spoke as she growled under her breath and eyes glared at me.
"Child, we don't look alike. Are children on drugs these days?" Her eyes look unsteady and her body too, yet wouldn't it be embarrassing to be high on a drug out in the public? It'll put more shame in her family.
At the corner of my eyes, I saw Sukuna's face widened. Then his mouth agape as he walked up to her, examining the teenager. "A dove from the sky..." He spoke like he was expecting her to say something back. I, on the other hand, was very confused on what's happening. I got attacked by her, and Sukuna is now interested in that girl? I'm surrounded by crazy people.
"Will always find its lover..." The girl's voice quickly changed into a cheerful and high pitched tone. It's like Sukuna's presence put her under a spell, taming a wild animal in a circus. However, on Sukuna's face, he looked eager yet pleased by the teenager. His eyes had a gentle layer like an angel had graced him.
Pulling my phone out, I quickly called Gojo to meet with me.
"WHAT DID HE DO?!"
"Calm down, Satoru. He didn't do anything, but..." I explained the situation I was in. "Yeah, so I need you to come over because I'm kind of scared." I don't know what Sukuna was going to do with the girl nor I wanted to be third-wheeling. "Come ASAP!"
Sukuna and the girl closed the gap between them. Their noses were touching and their eyes gazed at one another. They spoke the last sentence in unison, "Our love will not die," An emotional look was seen on the girl's face whereas Sukuna looked happy.
"Nozomi, is that really you?" This was the first time I heard Sukuna's voice crack.
Tears dropped down her eyes as she cried through her blurry vision and nodded her head. "Yes, it's me! I am here, Sukuna!"
I gasped loudly from this biggest reveal. "I knew it... I knew I didn't have her soul..." A big smile appeared on my face. Sukuna didn't have to be obsessed with me anymore. He finally found his loved one that he's been longing for many years.
"I'm here! What did I miss?" Gojo finally arrived, wrapping his arm around my waist. "Why are you smiling? Who is Sukuna next to?"
I looked up at him, still keeping my pleased smile. "He found Nozomi!" I explained to him what happened when he was gone, and even Gojo was surprised.
"Whaaaaat? You're joking." Despite his shocked face, I knew he was happy from the inside. Nobody was going to tear our family apart because Sukuna solved his own heart by finding the real Nozomi. I may have her face but that wouldn't satisfy him if I couldn't remember their past.
"No, I'm not."
"Should we break the news to her? She doesn't know that he's incarnated into a young boy's body."
"Yeah we should, but I don't wanna be the one to break their moment though... Go do it, babe! You love causing a scene." I nudged him and he stumbled forward.
Gojo began clapping, grabbing their attention. "Sir Romeo, Lady Juliet, I have some news to break..." He dramatically sighed, showing a mournful expression. Why was he acting as if he's in a play? "Lady Juliet, your lover, Sir Romeo—Ouch!"
I slapped his arm. "Can you be serious? Stop calling them Romeo and Juliet."
"Sorry! Sorry babe! Okay, long story short, Nozomi... Sukuna has to die." When he bluntly said that, Nozomi fell on her knees and sobbed. Me and Sukuna both looked from Nozomi to Gojo, and I quickly stepped in between the two men before they brawled.
"Hey, don't fight!" Sukuna may or may not listen to me, but I highly doubted he wanted Nozomi to witness this. Then I turned my attention to her, crouching to her level. "N-Nozomi," It was so weird saying her name out loud because I'm the one who has her face to begin with. It hurts me to break the news to her, but she has to know sooner or later. "The body Sukuna has is his vessel. You don't have to like it, but Sukuna will have to die since he's a cursed spirit that sorcerers have to get rid of. You already know his history..."
Nozomi quickly turned and glared at me with her reddened eyes. "But that's not fair! It's not fair he has to die like this! Over hundreds of years, my soul has been reborn over and over again until I can finally be with my true love! Don't you understand how much it hurts me?!" There was no way of getting anything drilled into her head in her sensitive state. This was so hard. I wished she wasn't stubborn, but I knew why she's acting like this.
"Oh Nozomi..." I sighed, placing my hands on my hips and looking up at the sky before staring down at her. "Are you willing to die again?"
"Ena, don't you dare—!"
I used my cursed eyes at Sukuna, who was mad at my proposition. "Please Sukuna... We all know that you have to die. As you know, as long as I'm alive, you are fated to die and Yuji has the power to take over his body. You will always live in misery if you don't let go of what turned you into this monster." I'm not too sure if it was possible for him to be reincarnated into a human being in his next lifetime. He finally found the love of his life... maybe in his next life, he will be able to love her more than this current one. Nothing will stop their love for one another.
"I will!" Nozomi grasped my arm as she crawled up from the ground. "I will die with him!" Her voice cracked as her lips quivered and eyes watered again. I can't imagine the loneliness she must have felt when she lost a piece of herself a long time ago. "I will keep on dying for him! My love for Sukuna will never go away. I want just a chance to be in his arms, hear him write poems for me, paint portraits as we talk about our future...!"
I understood her desperate behavior, so much that I didn't know how to respond to it. On the other hand, I'm so glad that Sukuna couldn't move right now or else he would've attacked me. He's under my spell for a few more minutes until it wears off. On his face, I knew he was extremely mad. Life was unfair for him, but he could only have Nozomi if he died.
"Hey, let's exchange numbers in case you need something from me. I have a feeling we will see each other often." Me and Nozomi exchanged phone numbers. "I'll leave you two alone... Let's go babe!" Hooking my arm with Gojo's, we headed off to a cafe shop.
At the table, we reminiscenced the old days when we were younger. "Remember when you got jealous at the cashier for flirting with me?" Gojo giggled as his shoulders moved. How could've that been funny? It was so annoying. It's still annoying to have to fight off women when he's alone, and I'm out getting something quick from the store. He's still a loyal man but also a chick magnet.
"Remember when I received flowers from a stranger because he thought I was the most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes on?" I retorted back, giggling at him just like he did to me. When that did happen, I've never seen him so jealous in my life. We were sitting at a bench, and the random dude just came up to me, confessing his love at first sight for me. It was sweet yet embarrassing. I chose not to do anything since I'm always dealing with Gojo's fangirls. Gojo took me away from the man without it saying a word until we got home. He acted like a brat that whole day.
"Babe, that's not funny." A frown was spotted on his face.
"You're not funny either."
"Oh really?"
Later our petty conversation changed to Sukuna and Nozomi.
"After Yuji consumes all twenty fingers he's going to get executed... They better have the time of their lives before it happens." I can picture Sukuna rebelling because he doesn't want to die when he's finally with Nozomi. It hurts my head to think about whether it will happen. "They could possibly share blood and meet each other in the next lifetime..."
Gojo laid his hand on top of mine and squeezed it firmly. We made eye contact and he spoke, "Ena, why are you thinking so much about them? Sukuna is out of our hair. He's no longer chasing you."
"Yeah I know, but I feel bad for them." Gojo gave me a look that told me he didn't understand. I guess he couldn't sympathize for his so-called Romeo and Juliet. "Imagine if it was us—forbidden love and we aren't allowed to meet. Wouldn't you want to do something extreme to be with that person again?" He better understand it now. If that bastard says otherwise, I'm leaving the house with Naozumi.
"Yes yes yes!" Gojo hastily replied, sensing that his life was on the line. "I get it... Yuji has to keep an eye out for them, and we can't let the higher ups know this."
Chills ran down my spine. "Of course, it'll be more trouble for everyone." Hell would break loose if the higher ups were involved because they would manipulate Nozomi once again. "Let's not repeat history by making the same mistakes. I guess we have to protect Nozomi until Yuji consumes all twenty fingers soon."
"Yeah I know. Let's hope it's soon,"
"What? Why would you say that? You like Yuji. You wouldn't want him to die just yet." What's wrong with Gojo today? "You know that I'm going to be the one to execute him." The higher ups only favored me during execution times. I get the work done quickly since it's my ability.
Gojo got up from his seat and stuck his hand out. "Oh, you'll see~"
A big tick mark grew on my forehead. "What are you hiding from me?" I refused his hand and stood up on my own.
"I'm still concluding my hypothesis so you'll have to wait until Yuji's execution."
