《The Bride of Gojo Satoru》Chapter 14

Sitting in my seat in my innate domain, I groaned in dismay. "Ugh, what a waste of time..." There was nothing fun to do but watch that Yuji brat train. At least he stopped begging for me to help him. I'm not here to be his last chance to be saved.
The brat was at this event called goodwill. I don't know what they were going to do, nor did I care. All I wanted in life was to conquer this body and take Ena away and possibly her son if I wanted to. That kid was cunning for his age. He's one intriguing kid who could reel in a demon to play against his will. "I wished he stopped calling me grandpa..." I scoffed, hating the new name given to me. Once I steal his mom, he's going to be calling me his new dad. "I will never be a good father anyways..." A chuckle slipped from my mouth. The imagination of it was odd. There's no way I could treat a child well; they would be scared of me.
"Hmmm. What if I had a life with Nozomi? Would I be happy just like these humans?" Perhaps I would've if I was human. Raising a child or more with a beautiful wife who loves me and getting old together... But that's a life that I will never have because I'm a demon. Unless this woman I'm trying to wife-up and steal wants to become one. Ena's always blissful towards her idiotic husband and sly kid. No matter what I offer, I get immediately rejected. She doesn't want to be my Queen. I can shower everything to her and yet she'll choose the life she has. Her life wasn't even wonderful to begin with. However, if I could find Nozomi in Ena's soul, maybe I could bring her out. There's no way a woman can have Nozomi's face but not her soul. Marking Ena wasn't a bad idea.
After lazing around my domain, a sudden sharp pain jabbed my blackened heart. "Ack! What is this?!" Confused, I tried to think where this pain came from. As a demon, I'm desensitized with any emotions...except when it comes to Ena, Nozomi, and her kid. "That's right. Because I marked her soul, I can feel any type of threat that comes to her. I'll kill whoever tries to touch her!"
I think we were still at the brat's goodwill event, but I don't hear Ena's voice anywhere. "Brat, go find Ena." I commanded, impatiently waiting for his response.
"No why?"
Should I tell that brat about what's happening to her? He won't do as I say unless I have a valid reason. I wished I could take over his body, but he knows how to control me. How annoying...
"Because the woman is mine and she's in trouble. Now get to it!" I yelled in the open air, in hopes the brat will take action. If not then I'm ripping out his stupid heart again. I can live without a heart; I can be a walking corpse if I'm eager to.
"Gojo-sensei, you should check up on Ena—" That's not what I wanted! This brat can't do anything right. I'll just pop on his face and speak for myself.
"You better look out for my future Queen, sorcerer. I can sense her pain all the way here... Maybe I'll ruin this event and take her for myself." I was being serious about ruining the event. I will do anything for Ena's safety. She is mine and nobody can replace her.

"Why would I listen to a demon like you?" The husband asked, not taking my words into consideration.
He really wanted to question my authenticity and not check up on his wife? Ena doesn't deserve him. "Remember... I marked her soul. Of course I'll know when she's in danger unlike you. I have a deeper connection to her than you ever will." I poked fun at his pride and joy as I sneered on the brat's face.
Due to the concealment of the sorcerer's face, I couldn't tell if he was ticked off or not. I wished I could see it, but he wouldn't want a demon like me to relish in it.
When the goodwill event ended, I never felt the pain again. I wanted to know what happened to her, but it's not easy to approach when she's hostile towards me.
Days after the goodwill event, the sorcerer summoned me to come forth as I was in the talisman chamber. "What brings you here?" I grinned at her husband sitting in front of me. My hands were tied back. Too bad I can't rip him apart so I can take Ena away. "Did you drop your pride and stepped down to kiss my feet? You know you're supposed to bow to me first, not sit in a chair."
He hunched forward as his elbows rested on his thighs and his fingers intertwined. "I'm getting straight to the point. You and I know that Ena is very important. You want her to acknowledge your very existence, but she just wants to live a peaceful life with me and our son."
Rolling my head, I groaned in displeasure. "Hurry up or else you'll lose me in the process..." He's taking his time instead of cutting to the chase. I sensed her soul changing and weakening, but I hadn't come out because I wanted her poor husband to beg for my help. I'm the only one who has the ability to solve this unknown mystery.
"What did you do to my wife?" His voice was filled with venom and hatred. "She is dying because of you." His hands balled up. "I can't sit here and do nothing."
This man right in front of me was weak just as I expected. When all fails, he'll turn to the person who did it. Does it hurt his pride that he has to turn to me as his last resort? Even so, it's pleasurable to see him as a weak man. He has no power to protect Ena but I do.
"And why should I help you?" I wanted to see how far he would go. Instead of pleading to god, he will plead to the very devil in this room—me. "You're her beloved husband who vows to protect her."
His lips tugged upwards as he scoffed. "Sukuna, we both know that if Ena dies, you will be the one to suffer too. You marked her and she's paying the price. Doesn't it hurt to know that she'll just end up dying just like Nozomi?"
A tick mark appeared on my head. He really has to compare Ena to Nozomi. Everything was always related to Nozomi. I guess that's their leverage for me to cooperate. I'm not that heartless to let Ena die. This is my second chance at love again. If Ena dies, it's all over for me.
He's going against the jujutsu rules just for me to save our Ena. "You came to a demon? I thought a sorcerer like you can save her?" I'm waiting for him to say that he's defeated.

"Heh... I guess this is what you wanted out of me." He stood up and looked down at me. "I have no shame to do this, and I don't regret it either. As a man, I cannot save my wife from the pain she's suffering... I can't watch her die if you're the culprit." Although he was willingly to accept defeat, I wanted him to do more like bow to me. However, I'll let it go since we don't have much time before Ena does die. I can feel her heart slowing down as her breathing was shallow.
"Fine... Let me go and I'll handle it." I had a hunch about who was behind this, yet I didn't want him to interfere with my personal matters.
"No. You can't go until you tell me the plan first. I can't let you—"
Damn he's so annoying. I can't do anything alone without having sorcerers on my ass, and this brat can control his body too. "I'm not killing her. I only marked her so I can feel if she's in danger. I'm going to kill her family." They're the reason why Ena's suffering. They probably cursed her. I'm not sure how but I can't let this slide. They've already hurt and killed Nozomi. I can't let them take Ena away from me either.
"Why do you suspect her family has to do anything with this? They've only met once or twice after your arrival. I doubt they have any evidence to use to harm Ena."
It seemed like her idiotic husband doesn't even understand the deep evils of her family roots. I feel sorry that she married a man like him if she had me.
"I don't think I have to explain myself. If you won't release me, then I guess we both will have to watch Ena die." I would prefer for it not to happen but he's testing my patience.
At the end, the sorcerer let me go. He insisted on following me, but I suggested he stay with Ena in case her condition worsened. If anyone was going to kill the Kita clan, it was going to be me. They killed Nozomi, and now they're trying to kill Ena. I can't let history repeat itself twice.
Standing in front of the house, I laughed to myself. "This time I'm not begging on my knees... The table has turned." I couldn't wait to murder them all. Ripping their limbs off, hearing their piercing screams, and watching blood flow out of their body. "The poor brat is going to have a hard time after we switch, but that is what he gets for consuming my finger."
I announced my presence in their audience room after killing their servants and her parents. My clothes dirtied in blood, and I brightly smiled at the elders. "I see. Even after many years of my death, you look just like your forefathers. It sickens me!" Their faces brought back ill memories of the past. They tried to stop me from loving Nozomi; they were an obstacle to overcome. Since I couldn't kill their forefathers, I will kill them in their stead.
"Sukuna...?!" The elders looked so shocked that it was a marvelous face they should keep on. They should fear me as much as they fear their life ending.
"I am back in the flesh!" I ripped off my bloody shirt as I proudly said. "I'm here to take back what's mine, and I know you have to do something about Ena's deteriorating health." Moving towards the elders I wasted no time at chopping off their hands. They won't be able to use me with their jujutsu ability.
Slice!
"ARGHHH!" They yelled in agony, watching their amputated hands gush out blood like a water fountain.
My chest felt light as a feather as this felt so exhilarating. I love watching people in pain, especially those who hurt me in the past. This was going to be fun...
During the process of my merciless torture, I received words that they were using a voodoo doll to kill their only descent. It boiled my blood. "Tell me why you did it?" I held the last elder's head in my hand while my thumb stabbed their left eye. My thumb went through effortlessly like the elder wasn't even trying to protect themselves. "I can heal your wounds and do it all over again! I've got the time to spare..." My thumb twisted in the gouged eye as it made squishing noises. It's been a long time since I've done something sadistic as this. The elder can't stop me if they wanted to because I chopped off their hands.
The elder painfully groaned in his words. "It's... to protect... the clan...!"
I pushed the elder down and placed my foot on their chest. I dug my foot in, causing some bones to break in the process. A grave expression took over my fun nature of slowly torturing them. "To protect the clan? Ena is the last one. I don't know who you are trying to protect but I don't care. You stepped over the line once again, and I'm going to end you!" Slowly I let the elder feel all their bones and organs exploding inside their chest as I created a hole. Blood spewed from their mouth while they coughed violently, choking on the very thing that kept their heart circulating. "I know you have Nozomi's artifacts. Tell me where it is!"
Bam!
The door of the audience room slammed open. "I didn't expect you to go this far." Of course it was none other than her beloved-soon-to-be-gone husband at the door frame. He didn't sound upset or mournful at this horrendous scene. Maybe he was a heartless monster from the inside too? He just concealed himself too well.
"And you came here while Ena's dying?"
"I have my students watching over her." His footsteps approached beside me, and I looked up at him. "I can't let you take all the glory of saving my wife either. I don't want to get an earful if she finds out I didn't do anything to save her life."
I rolled my eyes from his lame excuse. "Whatever. Go find the cursed item that's killing her. It should be in the cellar from what I'm told. I'm going to find things that belong to me." Soon after the sorcerer left, I received the answer from what I asked earlier. "You will be remembered..." I grinned at the elder, taking out my foot from their chest and kicking their head off as it bounced off the wall.
The damn elder told me that they only had a painting of Nozomi and nothing else. It really sucked to hear that because I was looking forward to reading the poems I've written to her in the past. I kind of wished to feel human if I were to read it.
Inside Ena's room, it looked untouch. There was no speck of dust anywhere. I supposed they still cleaned her room even after she left them. How creepy... At the left side of the room, Nozomi's painting was hung. My lips quivered as I remembered that very moment of painting her beautiful doll-like face. Nozomi was very patient and eager to see my artistic skills. I recalled after finishing the painting, she expressed her gratitude and love for my art. It made me fall more in love with her than I already was. I moved over and reached out to touch her paper face. "I've failed you once, and I don't do it again...!" Then something wet streamed down my eyes. "What is this?" I touched the wetness of my eyes. "I didn't even know I could cry." It must be Nozomi's magic touch. Only she could make me feel human. I missed her, I loved her; I need her back. Nozomi's soul has to be in Ena—she has too!
Outside the burning Kita house, I looked over at the sorcerer. "Did you destroy it?"
"Of course I did. I'll kill whatever that is killing my wife."
Closing my eyes, I spiritually checked if Ena was recovering, I sensed her life in a better place. It wasn't withering away anymore. All her organs were functioning correctly, and her breathing was steady and light. "Ena is okay now. I'm heading out." I left before her husband could get sappy with me.
