《The Bride of Gojo Satoru》Chapter 3

Present Day

Ring ring!

I pulled up my phone to see the caller ID was Gojo. "Hello?"

"HI, HONEY! DID YOU MISS ME?!" Gojo blasted my ear drum as I pulled my phone away. "I know you miss me! Who wouldn't miss me?! Are you on your way to pick up Naozumi?" I blinked a couple of times, wondering how I've been with him for ten years. Naozumi has only matured Gojo up to a small fraction of his upbeat personality.

"Yes, I'm on my way to pick him up right now, then I'm dropping him off at my parents' house. I don't trust you giving your missions to Megumi. Give that poor kid a break..." I sighed, getting closer to the daycare where I dropped Naozumi off.

Gojo's voice grew low. "You know that it might not be safe for our son to go to your parents' house...."

"Of course, I know that. I wouldn't be dropping him off there in the first place if your parents were back from vacation! They're my only resort. I don't like asking our friends to watch over our son. I feel bad because it's not their responsibility." I sighed through the phone. I may still resent them, but I can't let Megumi keep doing Gojo's workload... that slacker! He makes things more complicated than it should be. "I'm going to Sendai City after I drop Naozumi off, and you can't stop me!"

Beep!

I ended the call.

"I wonder how you became a teacher, Satoru... And how I became your part-time teacher assistance..." A few years ago, Gojo began teaching at Jujutsu High in Tokyo as an instructor. I didn't join until last year when we had the Geto and Yuta situation. However, I wasn't involved at their final fight because Gojo forced me to stay home and watch Naozumi as a precaution if Geto's minions were to attack Naozumi without us knowing. I'm still a part-time teacher because I'm still a home-mom who has to take care of Naozumi since he's not in school yet.

At the daycare, my snowball came rushing over to me with a bright expression. His sharp golden eyes and pure white hair was the beautiful creation from his parents. "Mommy!" Naozumi's fluffy snow white hair jumped until it flattened down once he stood in front of me.

Crouching down to his height, I ran my hand through his white hair then caressed his face. "Hi, baby! How was your day?" I spoke to him in a gentle voice.

"It was fun! I..." Naozumi told me his day as we walked out together, holding hands.

Motherhood wasn't easy, but it was worth it to raise him and watch him grow up into a fine little boy. At first, I was scared because I wasn't even ready to be a mom, but I took it in since I doubt I'll ever have another chance to again. Naozumi grew up to be a loved and happy child. He has a bright future for being the most powerful boy in this world. He's going to be facing a lot and will have to learn how to protect himself. This world is a dangerous place for a special grade sorcerer like Naozumi. Just one more year and his ability will be manifesting.

"Mommy, where are we going?" Naozumi asked, recognizing that we weren't going the usual way home. We were on a street that I knew but he didn't. The street which led to my old home.

"We're going to see my parents, your grandparents from mommy's side. Since daddy's parents are on vacation, they can't watch you for a while." I just prayed they would treat him with care, but if I see any markings on him, I won't hesitate to fight them. No one's going to hurt my child when I'm not there. I will be the one to discipline him, not my parents or the elders. They will wish they regret crossing the line.

"How come we never visit them?"

I kept a smile on my face because he shouldn't know the truth, not until he's older or never. "Because there was no need to until now. If they're being mean to you, tell mommy or daddy. We don't want you to be mistreated... We want you to be happy. Promise?"

Naozumi glanced up at me, grinning with his eyes smiling as it radiated warmth. He resembled more like his father when his eyes weren't showing. "Yes, mommy! I promise!" He's my little sunshine.

When we arrived at the Kita's house, I felt the nostalgic feeling hitting me like waves at the beach. Bad memories flooded my head after being tucked away for ten years. Standing in front of the gates made me sick to my stomach. The horrifying torment and the pleads to stop. I can't bring him here. He's not going to be safe...

"Mommy?" Naozumi called, wondering why we were standing in front of a person's gate.

I quickly flashed a smile at him. "Baby, you know what... We're going to see daddy at work, okay?" There was no way in hell I'm going in there. I refuse. They don't deserve to see me or my son.

"We're going to see daddy?!" Naozumi squealed as his eyes lit up from excitement.

"Yes, we are! And we're going to see Brother Megumi too!"

"YAY!" Naozumi jumped in the air. He really likes Megumi because Megumi always showed him shadow puppets. To me, it looked like Megumi really enjoys Naozumi's pure energy of joy. His usual poker face melts into a gentle expression when Naozumi asks him to play. I know Megumi won't admit that he likes being called 'big brother'.

It was almost night time on the bullet train to Sendai City. Naozumi took a nap on my lap as I pulled out my phone and called Megumi.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Megumi. I was wondering how your search for Sukuna's finger is going?" I don't know why Gojo put that task for Megumi... He should be getting something easier than retrieving the most wanted finger in shaman's history. A lot of things can go wrong if it falls into the wrong hands.

"It's gone."

"Gone? What do you mean gone? How could it disappear?" Of course things would turn out for the worse. If it's related to Gojo in any kind, then something was bound to happen. Gojo's a cursed person.

"This is what I know..." Megumi informed me what he found out, and this boy named Yuji gave the cursed finger to his occult friends. "Now they're in danger, and I have to save them."

Looking down at Naozumi's sleeping figure, I knew Megumi was going to need some reinforcement. Who knows the class and size the spirit was going to be? If it's Sukuna's finger, then things were gonna turn for the worse. I feel it in my gut.

"I'll be there right away once I get off the train! Send me your location!" The call ended and I breathed shakily. I'm scared how Naozumi's going to react to this, but this was going to be his life once he turned six. It's inevitable for him to be a shaman since he was born by two powerful sorcerers. "I hope you're not scared, little one." My hand gently rubbed his baby cheek.

Once we arrived in Sendai City, I woke up Naozumi as he tiredly groaned but fell back asleep. He indeed took Gojo's traits. My little baby was very tired. A child's body has a hard time keeping up with an adult's life. Instead of trying to wake him again, I just carried him in my arms.

I used a GPS to find Megumi, and it took me to a damaged school. "Did he not put a curtain up?" I'm not even sure if he knew how to do it, but I guess the press will find a way and say it was something else than leaking gas. Staring at the school building, I saw two figures on a rooftop. I knew one was Megumi and the other must be someone else because it's not the skyscraper Gojo. "I guess I'll find out who it is..." I leaped my way to the rooftop until I stood right behind Megumi.

"Ena-sensei! Naozumi...?" Megumi looked beaten up. I wonder if he took down the spirit and grabbed Sukuna's finger.

"You're going to need to be bandaged up to stop your head from bleeding. Did you kill the spirit and retrieve the finger?" Since my attention solely focused on Megumi, I totally forgot there was another person with him.

"A cursed spirit in the flesh is no fun! Where are the people?! The women?!" A gruff voice shouted out of nowhere, and I turned around to face a shirtless teenage boy with tattoos on his body.

"The boy Yuji killed the spirit by eating Sukuna's finger." Megumi seriously said. There's no way he would lie to me, and if the boy actually did that, I'm surprised. He has guts to eat a cursed object.

"Protect my son." I gave Megumi to hold my precious boy. "I'll deal with the incarnated Sukuna." Good thing Naozumi was asleep, he might've been terrified if he saw what's going to happen next.

"Yes, ma'am!"

Turning to the cursed boy, I was ready to purify his soul. "Hey Sukuna!"

His body slowly turned to face me as a low chuckle slipped from his demonic mouth. "You smell like a woman... Are you ready to die—" When he finally faced me, he stopped speaking like his vocal cords closed up. His light brown eyes steadily analyzed me. Then the next words coming out shocked me and Megumi. "Nozomi!" Sukuna dropped on his knees like something spectacular happened.

I slowly rotated my head and stared at Megumi with a visible confused look. Megumi was perplexed as he shrugged his shoulders. He didn't know what to say and neither did I. I don't even know what's going on, or why Sukuna was calling me Nozomi. Suddenly, a flashback to ten years ago hit me. I recalled this spirit calling me Nozomi and talking about Sukuna... I still couldn't piece things together because there was a lot of information missing. Who was Nozomi to Sukuna?

Carefully, I constructed my words so he wouldn't attack me when I'm interrogating him. "I am not the person you know... I've been mistaken for Nozomi once. I'm formerly known as Kita Ena, but I go by Gojo Ena now." I changed my last name since having a wedding was hard when we're constantly being targeted. Gojo begged me to change my last name so we could be a family, and it wasn't a bad change either since Kita holds dreadful memories.

"No, you're Nozomi!" Out of nowhere, he pinned me down as his hands nailed my arms from moving.

"Ena-sensei!"

"Megumi, stay back!" I quickly responded. I couldn't let him get involved when he's injured and Naozumi was here as well. There's no way I'll let Sukuna kill me. I have to raise my son until he's able to take care of himself.

Staring at Sukuna, I calmly spoke to him, knowing he wouldn't hurt me because I'm someone special to him. Sukuna wouldn't react like this if I wasn't someone he remembered from the past. "I've been told that I have her face but I'm not her. I don't know who this Nozomi woman is. I only know Ena." Being beneath Sukuna, I felt my anxiety coursing through my body. It's not like everyday I get pinned down by cursed spirits and demand that I'm a person they used to know.

Sukuna's face contorted in annoyance. He didn't believe the words coming from me. "You can't lie to me! Nozomi has golden eyes too because she's a part of the Kita Clan!" My eyes widened from the news as my heart raced in profound confusion and fear. Who was this woman then? "Is this my sentence for turning into a demon?! Your soul has been reincarnated into a woman who doesn't recognize her own lover— Hey, what are you doing to her?" A new voice slipped in, as the original owner took back his own body.

The boy stepped back from me as I froze in immense shock on the ground. "Who is Nozomi?" Sukuna's words lingered in my head. I won't be able to forget this... Now I'm forced to go back to the Kita household because they have the answers I need.

"Gojo-sensei! What're you doing here?!" Megumi's shocked voice pulled me out of my thoughts, and I scrambled back on my feet. I needed to get a hold of myself before I let my head get carried away from my encounter with Sukuna. I didn't expect myself to be more special than I already am.

"Yo, Megumi... Why do you have my son? Isn't he supposed to be..." When Gojo heard my shoes clicking on the floor, his attention turned to me. "Ena? Why is Naozumi here?"

I stood in front of him, trying to hide my shaken figure. It's best to tell him later. "I decided last minute that I couldn't face the house, so I took him with me which shouldn't be a problem since he misses his daddy and his big brother." I gently scooped Naozumi back into my arms. His tiny body felt so warm and comforting as he lightly snored on my shoulder.

Megumi informed Gojo of the situation, and so he started stretching his body to fight Sukuna for ten seconds. "Megumi, hold this, will ya?" Gojo threw a bag at his hands.

"What's this?" Megumi was curious what Gojo bought and I had a hunch of what it was.

"Satoru, did you buy more sweets?" Secretly I knew he's been buying more sweets behind my back despite me scolding him not to. He's getting Naozumi addicted to sweets as well and he's only five. I can't let my son have cavities at an early age because of his father's influence.

Gojo whistled when I hit the bullseye. He can't hide anything from me without feeling guilty. "Umm... Maybe. But it's only for me! I'll eat it fast before you know it!"

"Ugh... Excuses, excuses, excuses... If our son gets a silver tooth, I'm blaming you!" I can't imagine my little boy having silver teeth because he couldn't stop himself from being like his father. Eating a few sweets was fine but getting a sugar rush wasn't.

"Watch out!" Megumi shouted when Sukuna took over the boy's body.

"Megumi, he'll be alright... Satoru isn't over confident for no reason..." I sighed as Gojo was showing off to tick Sukuna off his game.

"By the way, Ena-sensei, who's Nozomi? Why did Sukuna keep calling you that?" We chose to ignore the background noise.

"If I knew the answer then I would've told you, but as of right now, I don't know. This is my second time hearing the name. From what it sounds like... I may be Sukuna's past lover when he was alive." Megumi's expression grew from the information. "Same that's how I feel like too. I don't even know what to comprehend without hurting my head."

"Hey, why aren't you guys watching?" Gojo exclaimed, feeling a bit sad that we weren't in awe of his skills.

"Oh sorry."

"You brag about it at home everyday. I'm kind of tired of it right now."

"Geez, you guys killed my mood,"

Before we knew it, the battle was over and Gojo accepted Megumi's personal request to save the boy from getting executed by the higher ups.

"I'm going home first... I have some business with my family." If I don't get my answer right away, it's going to bother me for a while. I don't like the feeling of being called or recognized as Nozomi when I'm not her.
