❝she knows all the tea❞
"papa, I got you this new outfit. what do you think?", marri asked, shoving the pile of clothes into satoru's arm as he examined it.
"my little princess is such a fashion icon! would you like me to wear it out today? I might attract even more attention than usual", satoru teased, to which marri had huffed.
"don't flatter yourself, papa. I assure you, the attention will be all on me", marri grinned, to which she had left satoru to change as she headed downstairs, where inu and choso were.
"good morning guys! papa and I will be back soon, so please look over the house", the little girl smiled as she glanced over at choso, who's hair was down and a mess.
"and I'll brush your hair for you once I get back", marri commented as she quickly gave inu and choso a hug, rushing off as satoru had trampled down the stairs.
"ready princess?"
"the question is, are you ready, papa?"
"of course—"

"—I'm not! what the hell, marri?!", satoru harshly whispered, to which the girl had nudged at her father, meanwhile getō was sitting in front of the two.
if there was one word to describe this situation, it'd be awkward.
but what kind of awkwardness hasn't marri been through? worst case scenario, she'll just pull a stunt like she did with the fushiguros.
"so, sugu, how're you doing?", marri asked with a bright smile, meanwhile the waitress had nervously placed down two cups of dark coffee and a glass of orange juice.
"well...I could be better. this was a...turn of events", the man honestly answered, to which satoru had snorted.
"okay well I'm just going to be honest here...I just want to know the tea. like I thought you two were best friends? what happened? was it because of a mis...misunder...ugh!"

"misunderstanding", satoru helped, though he kept on his stern face when looking at getō.
"yeah exactly! like what happened?", marri asked.
"you don't need to—"
"we fought over a girl. that's basically it", getō interrupted, to which satoru was now glaring at his ex-best friend.
the two were petty and stubborn, that was for sure.
"oh, well was she at least pretty?"
"I don't even remember her name—"
"yes she was", getō answered, to which marri had wondered how in carnation did these two become friends.
"she's actually your mothe—"
"no she isn't", satoru interrupted, refusing to admit it as he adverted marri's curious gaze.
the girl then cleared her throat, searching for something in her dress pocket as she pulled out a picture for the both to see.
"you see here? it's called friendship, brotherhood, and..."
marri then squinted her eyes at the writing on her tiny arm.
"...and...ultimate fellowship! blood is thicker than water, and I'm so disappointed in you two for letting a girl get in between you both", marri sighed.
"but your mother—"
"nope nope! no excuses. I demand an apology from the both of you two, as I'm very sad that we have come to this. I mean...look how great you two look together", marri stated, taking out another picture and placing it onto the table.
getō wondered just how many pictures the girl had brought.
"see? you know where I found these pictures? in my papa's closet, because he still thinks abou—"
satoru immediately covered marri's mouth as he whispered to his daughter.
"how many more pictures do you have in your pocket? and can you please stop exposing me?!"
marri then slapped away her father's hand, huffing as she brought out one last picture.
"just leave your stupid pride and say sorry already. stop being so petty, papa!", the girl grumbled back.

satoru rolled his eyes as he then diverted his attention to getō, who slightly smirked as he never thought he'd get an apology from the gojō satoru.
"I'm...sorry...NOT! LIKE HELL I WOULD BE SORRY", satoru childishly huffed, flipping up his middle finger meanwhile marri facepalmed.
getō sighed too as he rolled his eyes, deciding to be the bigger person.
"I'm sorry...for not being a supportive best friend. I was just jealous because this wasn't the first time a girl has picked you over me, but I really liked her...a lot", getō explained, to which marri suddenly felt bad for the man.
the girl then glanced over at her father, who had on a neutral expression.
"I..."
the male deeply breathed in and out.
"I guess I'm sorry too...", the man embarrassingly grumbled.
"I'm sorry for stealing her away...because I didn't want you to settle down and...yeah..."
marri made a weird face as she wondered what kind of apology that was. however, at least her father said sorry, which never happened.
"well, good talk! let's go get some cupcakes for celebration now", marri smiled, to which the two adults had nodded, geting out of their seats as marri held both their hands.
now did she pick their outfits because she's a fashion icon?
oh hell yes!
"by the way sugu, now that you and my papa are good, you still have to teach me how to man..manip..."
"manipulate", the man helped.
"yeah! manipulate curses!! when are you going to help me? I'm kind of in a time rush since the fourth of march is coming soon", marri stated.
"fourth of march? what's going on that day?"
"she's beating naoya's ass. you know that shitty kid that I told you about back in the days?", satoru asked.
getō hummed as it took him a second to remember.
"ohhh!! he's...we can start tomorrow, marri", the dark-haired man smiled.
"great! I'll have you know that I'm a quick learner", the girl confidently boasted, making getō chuckle.
"we'll just have to wait and see then".

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]
