❝she deserves an oscar❞
surprisingly, inumaki and inu made a great team, as they must've been communicating on a spiritual level, since no one else knew what the hell they were talking about.
though nonetheless, nanami and ijichi of course won, as two adults versus a teen and a curse just wasn't fair.
however, it wasn't about them, because marri had planned for mechamaru and miwa to fight together and let them have a romantic moment against panda and kamo.
to be honest, the little girl just wanted to see kamo, who seemed like he needed a little brightness in his life, with panda, who was one of the best companions out there.
unfortunately, things took a turn and without even having to open his eyes, kamo had quickly taken the two down, with panda — not in the pool since mechamaru can't touch water.
marri sighed as she hummed, watching mechamaru and miwa stand there and console each other for their losses.
the little girl then snickered to herself as she quickly ran past miwa, "accidentally" bumping into the girl and making her fall on her bum as marri apologized.
"I-I'm sorry miwa-chan!! are you okay? I think you need to get treated. MECHA-MECHA SHOULD CARRY YOU! HURRY!", marri demanded as the robot man nervously carried the girl and walked off, much to marri's delight.
"DON'T COME BACK TOO SOO—I-I MEAN TAKE CARE OF HER!", marri waved as next was nishimiya and kugisaki against mai and maki.
it was probably the worst pairing that marri had decided on, but she didn't care.
"I OBVIOUSLY SHOULD BE ON TOP SINCE I'M LIGHTER!"
"HAH?! ARE YA CALLING ME FAT?!", kugisaki yelled back, pulling on nishimiya's blonde hair as the girl was pinching the country girl's cheeks.
"don't get on my way", mai snarled at maki, who just scoffed, pushing up her glasses.

marri then sneezed as she watched the four girls finally decide who's going to be the base and the top.
"marri, you're going to catch a cold", megumi stated, grabbing a dry towel and draping it over the girl.
"can you roll me up into a ball? I want to feel like a butterfly but like the cocoon, you know?", marri asked, to which megumi could never understand the process that went through the girl's head.
"sure...", the dark-haired boy replied as he wrapped marri into a cacoon, letting her run around meanwhile her arms were bounded to her body.
it honestly looked quite hilarious.
"marri, do you want some water?", satoru called out, to which the girl looked back as she kept on running, causing her to bump into someone.
"oof!"
"are you okay?"
"oh, yeah I'm fine! could you help me up please?", marri asked, to which kamo had picked the girl up, setting her on her feet.
marri then broke free from the towel, shedding off the towel as she didn't believe in catching a cold.
"nori-kun, you're from the kamo clan aren't you?", marri asked, to which the male had simply nodded, not much of a talker to be quite frank.
marri then rolled onto her stomach, propping her chin up with the palm of her hands as she swung her legs back and forth, observing the teen.
"is something the matter?", kamo asked, not used to being around kids in the slightest.
"so can you use blood mani...manip..."
"blood manipulation", kamo finished. "and yes, yes I can".
"can you show me then? like can you make it seem like I'm spitting out blood?", marri asked, to which kamo was hesitant.
"I don't have blood right now though..."

marri then glanced over at the four girls, who were still playing chicken fight in the pool. in fact, they somehow even managed to pull out weapons, as they kept spouting insults at their own teammates.
"guess you're really useless since you can't even be a steady base!", nishimiya spat.
"haaaaah?! please, what the hell is taking you so damn long to push her down?!", kugisaki retorted.
"HEY! WATCH HOW YOU TALK TO MY COMRADE!", mai shouted.
"WHY DON'T YOU TRY RESPECTING YOUR OLDER TWIN FIRST", kugisaki yelled back, throwing her nails at the girl meanwhile maki had used a staff — from who knows where she pulled it out from — and deflected it, causing them to fly everywhere.
marri saw this as a chance to kill two birds with one stone, as she stood up, shielding kamo as a nail came flying towards her and hitting her back.
satoru spat out his tea as he was sitting on the sidelines with iori, seeing as his little princess was hurt.
"MARRI!"
"nori-kun, work your magic", marri whispered as kamo hesitantly made it seem like marri was spitting out blood, even though the blood was just from the little wound on her back.
the girl then dramatically fell onto her knees as satoru held his child, pulling the nail out as the four girls hurried over to apologize.
"m-marri!! we didn't—"
marri raised a hand, signaling for them to stop speaking.
"j-just in case I don't make it...please...do me one last favor", marri said, spitting some more blood out in the process.
"anything!", kugisaki quickly agreed.
"apologize".
"I'm sor—"
"not to me! you four work it out", marri mumbled.
maki suspiciously looked at marri, to which that had prompted the girl to cough out more blood, choking really obnoxiously.
"okay okay okay!! I'm sorry, nishimiya-san", kugisaki started.
"and I'm sorry too, kugisaki-san".
the zenin twins glanced at each other, with mai huffing as maki sighed.
"I'm sorry for leaving", maki clearly muttered, to which mai had ever so slightly widened her eyes and flinched as all she ever wanted was for maki to come back for her; to save her from the condescending whispers and glares of the zenin clan.
"I'm sorry...for blaming everything on you", mai whispered, barely audible.
marri then cleared her throat as she sat upright, kissing kamo's cheek as thanks meanwhile she got ready to get into the pool, as her and sukuna were next up against satoru and iori.
"marri, you—"
"oh...umm...by the power of friendship and sisterhood, I have recovered!! thank you", the girl quickly bowed as she ran over to itadori, meanwhile the four girls had on a look of disbelief.
"YOU...YOU...YOU SCARED US!!"

8 92The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
